Any and every BBC video is very well received from me. I took our family beeb from almost scrap to fully working and its now the showpiece of my computer room. Whenever my internet connection fails, which it did again today, I smile and turn on the beeb. I also smiled when I learned that a BBC micro controlled one of the radio telescope dishes at Jodrell Bank until the mid 2000's. Some machine and especially nice to own.
I still have my old Beeb 32k. Have a 16k sideways ram unit with the wires to plug in for loading in roms. I had so much fun back in the 80's/early 90's learning all of that stuff.
hi just caught your video, excellent as usual. bit confused as to what type of floppy system you are using? is it an actual floppy drive or one of the sd type, and could you say where you got the files listed on the screen. Would love it if you could go though the process of uploading to a rom step by step a bit slower i am new to the beeb and loving it so far, cheers keep the videos coming :)
The whole thing is on my BBC web pages - msknight.com/bbc/ - look for, "Sideways RAM" and there are two videos at the bottom. As for the floppy system, that's a Gotek system that was adjusted for the BBC by RetroClinic. Do a search for "gotek bbc" on ebay, and look for the RetroClinic listings. He usually has the paperwork in the picture as well. It's a flash drive formatted to Fat32, with individual SSD and DSD files on board. He usually supplies a USB stick with lots of images on as well. Although you still need a disk interface installed in your BBC just as if you were using a physical drive.
