2 questions ... How did you know which oil pump from Kawasaki would be compatible to get the replacement o-ring and seal? Did you also use new sealing washers on the banjo bolt that holds the oil feed to the pump?

The short answer to your first question Pete, is experience. Knowing Mikuni made the pumps for most of these two strokes, regardless of brand (except Yamaha) and having worked on these machines for decades, I had a direction in mind. Most Mikuni pumps are virtually identical, except perhaps shape and mounting, though I believe the internal mechanicals are pretty much the same. I also recently replaced the same parts on my F6 Kawasaki and recall the similarities to the Suzuki pump. From there it was a matter of researching part numbers and availability. There is no cross reference chart for these parts that I'm aware of so it comes down to experience and research.
Regarding the banjo sealing washers, as I recall (it's been a little while), I resurfaced the original washers using the tip of my finger on a fine piece of sand paper attached to my surface plate. For copper or aluminum washers usually this technique works fine, though the washers are still available from Suzuki.

A correction to my answer regarding the oil pump banjo gaskets. I got to thinking about this and I became usure about my answer regarding reusing the original washers. So I went back and checked the parts I used when reassembling the pump and I used NEW aluminum banjo washers from Suzuki. The originals were plastic, so I replaced them.
My only defense is it was almost three months ago when I did this work!
