I paid in Florida $125 a month each to a yard guy and a pool guy.
    $250 a month total.
The lawn guy only mowed once a week. No trimming or weed pulling.
The pool guy vacuumed the pool and put in chemicals once a week.
And I wonder why it cost us $5500 a month to live.
    For just the basics.
No dinner out or social life.
$5500 just to keep thinks running.
Now we live on $2500-$3000 per month in Mexico.
But, we no longer have to work.
    We have a social life.
We eat better than we ever have.
We’re trying to not beat ourselves up for not coming to Mexico 5 years earlier.
*** translate on my phone means Ive never had a problem asking for anything in Spanish while we’re studying and learning

The house is beautiful! You do need an LP gas detector. It is really common here for gas fittings to corrode and leak. If you are downstairs, you’ll probably smell it, but if everyone is sleeping you might not notice. In the rental house I lived in, I had to evacuate during the middle of the night when a propane line to the stove sprung a leak. I only found out because the neighbor came home late and could smell it outside my house. When the gas guy arrived, he found several leaks in the brand new house. He showed me which lp gas detector to buy on Amazon and instructed me to plug it into the closest electrical outlet to the stove and as low as possible. Sure enough, a week after fixing the leaks and installing the gas detector, it went off in the middle of a work call. This time, the oven had started leaking. The water filtration you have for the laundry is really cool. What brand is that? I’ve never seen one, but it seems like a really good idea to have that.

@@MoveAbroadandThrive I currently live on an acre in a No HOA communityi in the USA. I’m terrified for my home value. I live in a cove where folks have lakefront homes. Cartess not err’body is respectful of neighborhood integrity. One family does cut their grass and they park cars on that uncut grass. Another family has a huge unsightly structure on their lot with a huge blue tarp. Two homes are killing the value of the otherwise gorgeous neighborhood. Some folks need rules 😂 But I do get wanting to live in a community without rules.

Your house is LOVELY! Do you find the sprinkler system are bringing more mosquitoes than usual? if you had a choice would keep it or opt out? Do you think the bamboo plants/trees might bring in snakes since you are "out in the country". Do you think critters will crawl in you sewer system and into your toilet since you are now in the country? Just wondering because CONKAL is high on my list.

    • @MoveAbroadandThrive
      @MoveAbroadandThrive  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Great questions! I would keep the sprinklers since the water cost no more money with it coming from a well. It'll keep the grass green, the shrubs/plants looking nice and trees alive (cause it gets hot and outside of rainy season, it don't rain much), so i would opt for the sprinkler. I can't say i notice much more mosquitos with the sprinkler because it's only on for 30-minutes and it turns on in the morning, so the water is dried up by the time I wake up. I can't imagine too much snakes where we're situated inside of this privada (now if i were in the sticks and living in a house where I'm secluded, I'd probably expect to see more snakes, but i don't see that being too much of an issue where I'm at now).I hope not to see any critters in my toilet, lol... Haven't had that situation since being here 2 1/2 years (fingers crossed)

    • @MoveAbroadandThrive

$24,000 pesos (which is about $1,400 USD). I opted for the higher budget to find a larger place w/ solar panels so my electric bill would be ZERO (last place my bill got ridiculous and I wanted to be somewhere so i can run my air freely and without worry). That rent includes a gardener coming out to cut the grass and maintain the trees and plants, etc... Trash included through December 31st. No electricity (she threw in her rental car with only 6,000 miles on it for $3000 pesos per month), w/ insurance included. I was previously paying $12,000 pesos for a rental through one of the rental companies, so my numbers balanced out and saved me a ton by living here, plus getting. a much larger house, with pool and the amenities that come with the neighborhood, which you'll see in the next video coming out.

This one costs about $75/month extra and includes 3 large pools spaced throughout the property. A full size gym for workouts (you'll be blown away how large this one is and all of the equipment inside). Also has multiple little parks within the community. Several tennis courts, soccer play areas, walking paths, 24-hour guard at the front, etc... A big huge conference room to use to host parties at no extra costs.
