I always felt really bad for phone guy. He seemed relatively wholesome, and even though they never met, it felt like he was a friend of the night guard. He seemed genuinely terrified upon his demise
Especially when he asked the nightguard to check the suits in the morning, he knew exactly where he was going to end up, and he tried to calm himself by saying it wouldn't be that bad and that he would get out soon.
I always hated how everyone assumes the victim was a child at the party. Remember the Night 4 call, where Phone Guy states the animatronics were acting aggressively towards the staff and get along fine with the kids, but stare when they see an adult. I actually think Jeremy Fitzgerald was the victim. He was on the day-shift that day. And the animatronics have been trying to jump him for the past week, and it was a perfect chance to do so.
I think the victim was Jeremy too but I believe the misconception that a child was bit comes from mangle's radio where people hear an officer saying there's a little boy who's missing their frontal lobe. Honestly it throws me off too and i noticed it's disregarded in the video because no one knows what to make of it
I think also, the audio is just a stock sound effect so in reality, the message is just random gibberish that doesn’t have anything to do with the Bite

I always thought it was mangle, the way his jumpscare animation is literally her swooping down and biting you in the head gives you obvious clues that he's the one who did it. I also always liked mangle because of her design, and because of the brand new mechanic he introduced.

I always thought the Bite of 87 was highly over analyzed by the Fandom. It's clear Scott Cawthon never intended for it to be important, and I think he just needed a way of telling the player that the Robots are dangerous and are capable of hurting people, so he added a small story about one biting a kids frontal lobe off. That sends the message that they're dangerous perfectly fine. However it became another case of Fans taking something in the lore and ramping it up to grand importance.
well to be fair you could argue that scot kinda hyped it up himself in FNAF 4 with the iconic 'Iz ThAT THe BiTe Of 87!?" only for it to end up being a 'gatcha!" moment and it's reveled to be a completely different biting event that we've never heard of until now

I could see Scott one day revealing the culprits randomly online in like 12 years. It just feels like such a Scott move to wait years after his retirement, and to never mention the series for ages, and then just return from the grave and casually unveil one of the greatest mysteries in the entire series

I've always thought it was Mangle, and since the mystery of the bite has been silently dropped, we'll never get any evidence disproving Mangle and no other animatronic fits the bill as well so my verdict is that it had to have been Mangle. As for who killed the Phone Guy, I loved how you were able to use sound to determine who it was, I think there aren't many people out there who really think about the fact that Phone Guy was in your office at the time of his death, so game rules and sounds apply, I've never really seen an analysis like that. However ii still think Golden Freddy killed him, just the fact that he can jumpscare the player and end their game in both Fnaf 1 and 2 proves he can kill and interact with physical objects to a degree. Also its possible that the Fnaf 1 GF is not exactly the same as Fnaf 2 GF, we know that two souls inhabit GF, Cassidy and Cryingchild, it's possible that Fredbear/Fnaf 1 GF represents CC and Cassidy is represented by Fnaf 2 GF so different ghostly rules apply. Since Fnaf 1 GF only disappears and reappears as apposed to having a floating head appear in a hallway, it could suggest a more physical presence than Fnaf 2 GF. But that's just my interpretation, since Chica was in the office at the time of the attack its always possible that she held him in place while Golden Freddy actually did the deed, but I'll let you decide what you think
I personally think there was no bite I think the company forcefully removed someones frontal lobe after discovering secret then removed it and created the whole bite of 87 situation to cover it up
The bite was probably caused by one of the toy animatronics, because they were noted to have gotten more aggressive, even at daytime. My guess is that it might have been Mangle, because she was torn up by the children. This could lead her to do this because of two reasons. First reason is that because of how damaged she was, she could have malfunctioned, and bit the child. The second reason is that she held a grudge, and couldn't take the pain anymore. I don't blame Mangle, though. If I got torn up by children, I would be mad too.
I would like to add something! It's implied the '87 bite victim was an employee rather than a customer! The toys are connected to a criminal database so they can protect the kids from possible predators. However this facial recognition system doesn't really work well, causing their staring problem with adults. In the same line where phone guy 2.0 states they act differently with children, they also state they're almost aggressive towards staff workers. Due to their nature, I doubt it would be a child victim as they show no resentment towards them and that includes Mangle so that slightly makes her less likely.
to my knowledge the toys don’t actually detect predators or connect to a criminal database, they’re actually set to detect william afton, to keep him away from this location. the animatronics messed up and mistook you (micheal) for him, which is why THEY are trying to attack you.
Actually- FNAF 2 isn't Michael, or at least he isn't Nights 1-5. Michael is theorized to be Fritz Smith aka the guard during Night 6 but the guard transferred to the dayshift during the party at Night 5 is actually Jeremy Fitzgerald, the paychecks are different. And yes, the toy animatronics' purpose was to prevent William from keep him away but they actually are connected. In fact it's theorized by some that William, using the Spring Bonnie suit, actually tampered and with the sensors to make them malfunction.
While you're right about the employee getting bit, there's a different reason for it. The malfunctioning facial recognition is a lie, made up by Phone Guy, to explain Toys' behaviour, just like the endoskeleton lie in FNAF1. Remember that they're possessed by 5 kids, killed in SAVETHEM minigame. And as we know from FNaF2, William is the night guard before Jeremy, which is exactly why the animatronics try to kill Jeremy too. They don't need to recognize the face, they just see the uniform and go insane. Posting him next to the animatronics during the day is asking for trouble. What did the PG say? "Stay close to the animatronics. Remember to wear your uniform."

I believe that those handprints on Freddy's face are actually from the bear himself. In the West Hall corner, there is a rare chance that the Freddy poster hung up on the wall will change to a poster of Freddy pulling his own head apart, with his hands in the exact same positions as the handprints on his head in the photo.

I always took it as mangle due to how he swoops down but I’ve always liked her as a character due to his name, design (not in a weird way), and just the unique gameplay mechanic she introduced.
I think phone guy’s death went like this: he closes the left door, causing Foxy to bang on it. He pulls up the camera, and opens the kitchen cam where he hears Freddy playing the Toreador March. Chica sneaks in while he’s looking on the cam and starts making noise, and phone guy then switches to the left door cam, where he sees the Golden Freddy poster. He quickly pulls down the cam, where Golden Freddy kills him before Chica can, explaining why we hear his jumpscare. Despite being paranormal, he is capable of killing, as he can do so to Mike Schmidt.

The endo-teeth, however... at least in the models during 1987 are sharp. Mangle's long snout and well as dysfunctional jaw would make biting a human head hard. Toy Chica? Remove the beak. Bam. Endo teeth OUT. Further proof could be the refurbished ones have DULL endo teeth, and Chica (FNAF 1) cannot remove her beak. And they aren't allowed to leave the stage. It also had to have been a toy because the toys were scrapped.

And than you realize the phone calls were prerecorded. Though yeah the call asking what you're doing there (can't remember if it was night 5 or 6) had to have been made in the present as you're playing since he wouldn't know you were at all. Also about the Phone guy death, honestly the scream makes it likely that it was Golden cause it's his scream. Considering that Foxy was banging and Freddy had the music box, Phone Guy might have been in the kitchen. We may not be able to leave the office during the night but he can Holding the door shut with Goldie being the only one able to kill him. Maybe that's why the camera's broken his body's in the kitchen and they tried to destroy the evidence. -starbonnie

There’s multiple things we need to know. Withered Bonnie, Balloon Boy and The Puppet get eliminated because of no functioning jaws to bite with. The Withereds can’t do it, because if they did, the toy animatronics wouldn’t get scrapped, the older models would. That eliminates Freddy, Chica and Foxy. Then the Toy models. I doubt Toy Bonnie. His jaw doesn’t open that far. Might scrape a bit of your head, but thats it. Same goes for Toy Freddy. I also doubt Toy Chica. Can she open her beak? She can remove her beak, but can she open it substantially? That leaves Mangle. The perfect culprit. Close to the kids and the adults. Kids keep taking her apart, Jeremy tells the kids not to mess with Mangle, boom, Mangle strikes.
It’s definitely not the withered animatronics because think of it. Withered. not the 1993/1990 animatronics Small theory: maybe W. foxy did the bite but fazbear entertainment blamed the toy animatronics maybe because they thought that the animatronics weren’t working out or something plus the employees said that the toy animatronics were acting creepy around them or something idk.
Also, consider the following: Foxy is thought to be, even by the employees, the most dangerous animatronic of the original four, with sharp teeth and a metal hook. Other Foxy's keep the tradition of looking stabby like, but that's because they look like FNaF 1 Foxy. Mangle, on the other head, looks way too nice and friendly to ever be considered scary, with a white and pink body color palette and red rosy cheeks. Funtime Foxy also looks a bit like Mangle, albeit with more parts everywhere. Funtime Foxy actually has no hooks, if you notice; both are hands. But how do both Mangle and Funtime Foxy attack when they get you? They appear from below/top and open their mouths wide. If they can't claw you, then they'll have to bite off, keeping the Foxy tradition of being dangerous. Edit: Forgot to write this here but Mangle's circuits and body parts being mish-mashed by kids could also explain the hostility of Mangle, allowing her for maybe even sharper teeth than they seem. I dunno, they took out an eye and put on a freaking head on him from nowhere, so really these kids' magic have no limits to whatever they feel like pulling out of their asses.
In the unlockable character viewer, Toy Foxy (the unbroken version of Mangle), technically has two heads, as it has a parrot on its shoulder (a callback to the pirate theme, I suppose). This explains a few, though certainly not all, of the seemingly anomalous features seen in the final state of Mangle.
I personally think toy chica could be ruled out because unlike many of the other animatronics, toy chica doesn't have a jaw hinge. Looking at her design, it doesn't look like there's any way for toy chicas mouth to open any more than it already is, so she definitely couldn't have bitten down on somebody's head.
I also think that it's mangle because why the toy animatronics get destroyed and the withereds get move to the fnaf 1 location. It means that one of the toy animatronics cause the bite. The only logical candidate is mangle
The animatronics don't see you as a endo skeleton this has been obvious since 2014, hell bonnie in fnaf 1 walks past a endo skeleton and did absolutely nothing.

I'd like to add onto the evidence for Mangle a bit: during the phone call where he brings up the party, Phone Guy mentions to not let people near the animatronics (or something to that effect). However, since Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica would be on stage, it's unlikely anyone would be getting close enough to get bitten by one of them-but Mangle, as a take-apart-and-put-together attraction, would be getting close enough to bite someone. It's a massive company with (a) sorted history. Of course they would want to protect their reputation. So they could do shady underhanded things to cover up their past so that is a plausibly.
For the Freddy handprint: It is seen on FNAF 1 Repaired Freddy. The bite took place back when Freddy was withered (FNAF 2), and Withered Freddy lacks the prints. That means they are literally not connected to the bite in any way

I also think that it's Chica, Foxy and Mangle are way too obvious and if such an accident happened with an animatronics like that I doubt they would have kept the design of sharp teeth in the new Foxy

There's two details you forgot: Mangle is a canine controlled anamotronic. They were a result of Afton learning to use remnant. They were given a voice in UCN due to fan's arguing about it's gender so you hear both in its speech. Hilarious. Golden Freddy is controlled by two souls - Cassidy (the vengeful child of UCN) and crying child (Afton's youngest son). There is no endoskeleton in his suit. He most likely left an opening for Chica. (Also yes, the second teeth are indeed of her endoskeleton)

I've actually been a Toy Chica accuser since FnaF 2 originally came out, due to the fact Toy Freddy/Bonnie have heavily obstructed jaws. Sure, they could _absolutely_ rip your face up but they'd never be able to chomp down on a skull hard enough to remove part of your brain, but Toy Chica (and Mangle, of course) absolutely have that capability.
But toy chica’s endoskeleton mouth is still obstructed so it’s impossible for her to even bite anyone. Mangle’s mouth actually opens fully for the endoskeleton to bite down.
I think Toy Chica cant even bite since her beak is obviously loose and thus prob doesnt make much damage and her actual mouth is just a hole and immovable
Mangle has always been my favorite animatronic. Her schtick is just so unique and the fact that he's so uniquely tortured by her role as a "pull apart and put together" animatronic adds extra intrigue to the character. I also wonder if maybe Foxy's "Out of Order" sign and the general belief from a lot of staff that he's uniquely dangerous could be related to Mangle causing the bite - as they see Foxy as a different version of Mangle and therefore just as potentially dangerous.
I personally think it's Toy Chica. She can remove her beak so the endo teeth, the ones that would actually deal damage (A sword made out of plastic sucks compared to actual metal.) so it would make less sense for somebody like Toy Freddy with their big snouts to be able to deal enough damage to straight up remove a frontal jaw. This is also why I don't think Mangle could've done it, she has the most amount of plastic teeth so her endo teeth would be the least exposed. Also, Mangle gets tore apart everyday. Her jaw would be quite bad. The kids have to had messed with her head since one of her eyes are messed up. Toy Chica has A. Easy access to actually sharp teeth B. The easiest place to bite people, most people would be at the stage. C. A jaw joint that hasn't been beaten up. These points are why I think Toy Chica did it.
there’s also the motif of toy chica’s bib and her characters association with food that may be hinting or foreshadowing a bite! its kinda overlooked which is really upsetting bc i think it’s one of the most unsettling uses of silent storytelling in the franchise - the implication that she’ll eat you. plus one of scots clues was literally “why is toy chica missing her beak?” and i don’t think that’s ever been solved?
Also, during a stream, Scott posed the question as to why Toy Chica is missing her beak. I think after people kept saying it was Mangle, he tried throwing more evidence out to it being Toy Chica, especially with the UCN line.
I always believe it was Mangle. As you stated it is kinda impossible for Foxy or Freddy to be ones since they were locked away in Parts and Service during the day. The other Toys I don't think would really have caused the bite. Plus Toy Chica's line could be referring to how she kills the Night Guard. With Mangle being most likely as stated she would have a reason to cause the bite since she was abused so much would most likely hates all humans espically kids. Poor Mangle. She probably only wanted to make children happy at first. (Yes I see Mangle as Female don't argue with me with that.)
Here’s why I think it’s Mangle ultimately: If one of the original bit them (which the old ones shouldn’t even be OUT during the party lol) there’s no way those old models would later be redesigned to the FNAF 1 location. Phony Guy wants the guy to carefully watch the animatronics to “make sure nothing goes wrong” this would entail to the “FUNCTIONING” animatronics, we would assume the party would take place in the main dining room so try all of the toys to perform for the kids, and with Toy Freddy, Chica, and Bonnie all present, including BB and Puppet, there’s only ONE animatronic that was NOT present! Mangle stays in KID COVE! Also, people say Mangle is just a take apart/put back together attraction now, so they could assume they wouldn’t really need to watch out for her since she’s not even physically capable of doing anything, or so they thought… Here’s comes to the final evidence that PROVES it was Mangle! Mangle can crawl on ceilings, and kids and adults would be focused at the party and the animatronics performing, and of course, if the security guard (the one who got locked in the pizzeria on night 6) was having to watch on the animatronics, he would’ve been able to get away from the animatronics if they decided to start attacking him, as he’s supposed to be keeping a close eye on them! BUT! Nobody is checking mangle as there is no need to! And this ultimately shows how the security guard lost his frontal lobe… JUST LIKE FNAF 2, MANGLE COULD’VE DANGLED RIGHT ABOVE THE GUARD, AND THEN BITE ONTO HIM WITH NOBODY NOTICING! To recap, here’s the reasons why I KNOW it’s Mangle! 1: None of the old animatronics coulda done it cause they were broken down therefor wouldn’t be at the party, this also would make sure the old models were gone for good IF they DID do it! 2: Bb and Puppet don’t have mouths able to do that, and they are attractions so somebody would’ve noticed them. 3: The main 3 were performing on stage while being watched closely by the security guard in the purple uniform. 4: Mangle was the only one not where the party was being held, so nobody had to bother keeping an eye on her, plus, she’s mangled up so they, again, can assume Mangle wasn’t physically capable to even more around at all. 5: An animatronic fox jaw would definitely be able to cause fracture to your frontal lobe knowing the animatronic’s design. 6: Mangle is able to crawl on the ceiling, which would prevent her from being noticed more easily. 7: Everyone else was focused on the other animatronics and the party, they would have no reason to look up at all to see Mangle crawling forward across the ceiling. 8: Mangle is logically the ONLY animatronic that could’ve done it based on where the animatronics were and what state they were in! 9: While the security guard would possibly be able to get away from a bite from the other animatronics that he’s right next to, watching over, he wouldn’t notice Mangle, so he wouldn’t have ANY way to to escape her bite on him! And Finally…The Key Evidence…! *10: Notice how up to this point every animatronic has been used in the same restaurants, despite being on display, or even just for parts? Well, in the FNAF 1 pizzeria, there was no trace of the toy animatronics AT ALL! Just the old models! This is because MANGLE was a toy animatronic! So when she BIT out his frontal lobe in 1987, the company would completely scrap the toy animatronics, for safety precautions, and to avoid future law suits!* With all of this info, MANGLE, WITHOUT A DOUBT, WAS THE CAUSE OF THE BITE OF 1987!!!! >:D
Sure, the withereds aren't supposed to leave parts and service for the day but... Literally every night they open the door of parts and service and go out to attack you, who says they can't do the same for the day xD
Interesting theory, old sports! I've always been thinking that the culprit was Toy Chica, mostly because I always had the thought that during the show, Toy Freddy and Bonnie were occupied with singing and playing while she was the only one "free" to do anything, haha- Again, great video!

If you look up close at both Foxy and Mangle's teeth, they're capped off in blunt edges rather than coming to a pure point like the nightmares' teeth. However, their endo-teeth were super sharp. We know it must have been a toy animatronic because the toys were scrapped. Mangle's long snout would have prevented the endo-teeth from piercing skin. Meanwhile, if Toy Chica had to do it, she could take off her beak and do it, which we know she can remove her beak. I came to the conclusion the endo teeth had to have been the set that did the damage because look at the classic animatronics (FNaF 1); their endo-teeth are flat and harmless by comparison. On top of that, Mangle's jaw doesn't seem to work. It is also implied that victim was Jeremy, since after night 6, on the Custom night, you play a different character named Fritz Smith. The buildup in the calls also makes sense, and at present, the toys don't seem to be possessed at all. The buildup being the toys not acting right around adults, and eventually leading to an attack. This can also be used to explain why the classic Chica can't remove her beak, and why most of them had upper teeth removed (friendly reminder that Freddy, Bonnie and Chica don't have upper teeth in FNaF 1. On top of that, Mangle wasn't the only toy animatronic to come into physical contact with people; they were allowed to move a out the restaurant as they pleased. As for Foxy being out of order in the first? That's probably because they assumed he would be too scary. But it's really up to the imagination since a clear answer was never given. And at this point, I doubt there will be at this point.

To add on to the theory that Mangle did the bite of 87’ people have attempted to make Mangle’s radio more clear and attempted translations of the audio. The words “10-1” (something police say when they are losing signal), “frontal lobe”, and “child” are heard from Mangles radio. This tells us that this is audio from a police radio, calling for help for an injured/dying child with a head injury. I understand where this becomes confusing considering the bite never killed anyone but take into consideration the surprise of phone guy when he tells us that the person lived! This means the person could’ve been assumed dead but ended up living to the surprised of many. This also poses a question, why *does* Mangle have a radio? It seems odd for them to have a radio unless it is intentionally there for a specific reason. This is why I believe that Mangle did it. You did a wonderful job explaining all the evidence that Mangle did it better then I could! I just wanted to add another piece of evidence for this theory. :)

I personally think that while the bite did a lot of damage, either phone guy was exaggerating when he said they lost their entire frontal lobe, or the frontal lobe was removed surgically after the event because it was too mangled. I mainly believe this because it would be very hard to have a broken robot bite someone with enough force to cut off their entire frontal lobe and preciously enough that it gets the entire lobe out seemingly without damaging other parts of the brain
Well if you think about it, if the frontal lobe was bitten off by whoever caused the bite, that would mean the animatronic went through their head and skull and punctured out the frontal lobe, so it's more likely that it was surgically removed
I also think that, I feel like mangle just severely damaged the frontal lobe so it had to be removed in the life saving surgery that the kid/adult went into shortly after being bitten.
Fnaf 4 does take place in 1983. The withered animatronics were not the first freddy chica bonnie and foxy. If you look closely withered bonnie has buttons. So does freddy. The nightmare animatronics don't have buttons but take a close looks at withered chica's mouth and then nightmare chica's. It appears that withered bonnie might have had whiskers too. Just like nightmare Bonnie does. You might be asking what happened to the withered animatronics? Why does bonnie have his face torn off? Well think about it fnaf 3 shows the animatronics getting dismantled by William afton... You might be thinking those aren't the withered ones that he dismantles. They are. Proof? If you look closely freddy and bonnie have buttons in the fnaf 3 minigames, which means there was previous animatronics just like the fnaf one animatronics execpt creepier.
for both theories: in FNAF HW, when repairing Freddy you can see a child’s hat lodged in his mouth and a child’s shoe lodged within his inner chest mechanisms. this combined with the hand prints could also make him a valid suspect for the bite of 87. keep in mind, the phone calls in fnaf 2 AND many events being from the previous summer (as at the time, the place wouldn’t have been in such disrepair before the final birthday party) means that even though we’re there now, the bite has already happened long before/the prior summer. since Phone Guy welcomes you to your “new SUMMER job”. so Freddy could easily have been the culprit for the Bite of 87 just as much as Mangle. since they could have gotton out of the P&S room OR have left and bitten someone during the day. keep in mind, they were all allowed to roam during the daytime before the incident

I too believe it is Mangle, but just some evidence to backup Withered Bonnie and Withered Chica NOT doing the Bite of 87 is: For Withered Bonnie, 1: He was locked up in the Parts and Services Room, 2: With no upper jaw it'd be impossible for him to bite anything, and 3: As you said, the Toy animatronics were scrapped rather than the Withered animatronics. For Withered Chica, she DOES actually have blood stains in her endoskeleton teeth in her FNaF 2 and FNaF VR Help Wanted forms, but then again they are most likely just from when Susie was shoved into the Chica animatronic. I always hated how everyone assumes the victim was a child at the party. Remember the Night 4 call, where Phone Guy states the animatronics were acting aggressively towards the staff and get along fine with the kids, but stare when they see an adult. I actually think Jeremy Fitzgerald was the victim. He was on the day-shift that day. And the animatronics have been trying to jump him for the past week, and it was a perfect chance to do so.

I always thought the Bite of 87 was highly over analyzed by the Fandom. It's clear Scott Cawthon never intended for it to be important, and I think he just needed a way of telling the player that the Robots are dangerous and are capable of hurting people, so he added a small story about one biting a kids frontal lobe off.
That sends the message that they're dangerous perfectly fine. However it became another case of Fans taking something in the lore and ramping it up to grand importance.

I've always thought it was Mangle, and since the mystery of the bite has been silently dropped, we'll never get any evidence disproving Mangle and no other animatronic fits the bill as well so my verdict is that it had to have been Mangle.
As for who killed the Phone Guy, I loved how you were able to use sound to determine who it was, I think there aren't many people out there who really think about the fact that Phone Guy was in your office at the time of his death, so game rules and sounds apply, I've never really seen an analysis like that. However ii still think Golden Freddy killed him, just the fact that he can jumpscare the player and end their game in both Fnaf 1 and 2 proves he can kill and interact with physical objects to a degree. Also its possible that the Fnaf 1 GF is not exactly the same as Fnaf 2 GF, we know that two souls inhabit GF, Cassidy and Cryingchild, it's possible that Fredbear/Fnaf 1 GF represents CC and Cassidy is represented by Fnaf 2 GF so different ghostly rules apply. Since Fnaf 1 GF only disappears and reappears as apposed to having a floating head appear in a hallway, it could suggest a more physical presence than Fnaf 2 GF. But that's just my interpretation, since Chica was in the office at the time of the attack its always possible that she held him in place while Golden Freddy actually did the deed, but I'll let you decide what you think

The bite was probably caused by one of the toy animatronics, because they were noted to have gotten more aggressive, even at daytime. My guess is that it might have been Mangle, because she was torn up by the children. This could lead her to do this because of two reasons. First reason is that because of how damaged she was, she could have malfunctioned, and bit the child. The second reason is that she held a grudge, and couldn't take the pain anymore. I don't blame Mangle, though. If I got torn up by children, I would be mad too.

I would like to add something! It's implied the '87 bite victim was an employee rather than a customer! The toys are connected to a criminal database so they can protect the kids from possible predators. However this facial recognition system doesn't really work well, causing their staring problem with adults. In the same line where phone guy 2.0 states they act differently with children, they also state they're almost aggressive towards staff workers. Due to their nature, I doubt it would be a child victim as they show no resentment towards them and that includes Mangle so that slightly makes her less likely.
to my knowledge the toys don’t actually detect predators or connect to a criminal database, they’re actually set to detect william afton, to keep him away from this location. the animatronics messed up and mistook you (micheal) for him, which is why THEY are trying to attack you.
Actually- FNAF 2 isn't Michael, or at least he isn't Nights 1-5. Michael is theorized to be Fritz Smith aka the guard during Night 6 but the guard transferred to the dayshift during the party at Night 5 is actually Jeremy Fitzgerald, the paychecks are different. And yes, the toy animatronics' purpose was to prevent William from keep him away but they actually are connected. In fact it's theorized by some that William, using the Spring Bonnie suit, actually tampered and with the sensors to make them malfunction.
While you're right about the employee getting bit, there's a different reason for it. The malfunctioning facial recognition is a lie, made up by Phone Guy, to explain Toys' behaviour, just like the endoskeleton lie in FNAF1. Remember that they're possessed by 5 kids, killed in SAVETHEM minigame. And as we know from FNaF2, William is the night guard before Jeremy, which is exactly why the animatronics try to kill Jeremy too. They don't need to recognize the face, they just see the uniform and go insane. Posting him next to the animatronics during the day is asking for trouble. What did the PG say? "Stay close to the animatronics. Remember to wear your uniform."
Imagine it's because mangle is so broken down (kids taking her apart and stuff) that the criminal database corrupted in mangle's system and mangle just attacked someone

In the West Hall corner, there is a rare chance that the Freddy poster hung up on the wall will change to a poster of Freddy pulling his own head apart, with his hands in the exact same positions as the handprints on his head in the photo.

And than you realize the phone calls were prerecorded. Though yeah the call asking what you're doing there (can't remember if it was night 5 or 6) had to have been made in the present as you're playing since he wouldn't know you were at all.
Also about the Phone guy death, honestly the scream makes it likely that it was Golden cause it's his scream. Considering that Foxy was banging and Freddy had the music box, Phone Guy might have been in the kitchen. We may not be able to leave the office during the night but he can Holding the door shut with Goldie being the only one able to kill him. Maybe that's why the camera's broken his body's in the kitchen and they tried to destroy the evidence.

There’s multiple things we need to know.
Withered Bonnie, Balloon Boy and The Puppet get eliminated because of no functioning jaws to bite with.
The Withereds can’t do it, because if they did, the toy animatronics wouldn’t get scrapped, the older models would. That eliminates Freddy, Chica and Foxy.
Then the Toy models.
I doubt Toy Bonnie. His jaw doesn’t open that far. Might scrape a bit of your head, but thats it. Same goes for Toy Freddy.
I also doubt Toy Chica. Can she open her beak? She can remove her beak, but can she open it substantially?
That leaves Mangle. The perfect culprit. Close to the kids and the adults. Kids keep taking her apart, Jeremy tells the kids not to mess with Mangle, boom, Mangle strikes.

Small theory: maybe W. foxy did the bite but fazbear entertainment blamed the toy animatronics maybe because they thought that the animatronics weren’t working out or something plus the employees said that the toy animatronics were acting creepy around them or something idk.
Another thing is the withereds can only move at night, and the bite happened during the daytime
Also, consider the following: Foxy is thought to be, even by the employees, the most dangerous animatronic of the original four, with sharp teeth and a metal hook. Other Foxy's keep the tradition of looking stabby like, but that's because they look like FNaF 1 Foxy. Mangle, on the other head, looks way too nice and friendly to ever be considered scary, with a white and pink body color palette and red rosy cheeks. Funtime Foxy also looks a bit like Mangle, albeit with more parts everywhere. Funtime Foxy actually has no hooks, if you notice; both are hands. But how do both Mangle and Funtime Foxy attack when they get you?
They appear from below/top and open their mouths wide.
If they can't claw you, then they'll have to bite off, keeping the Foxy tradition of being dangerous.
Edit: Forgot to write this here but Mangle's circuits and body parts being mish-mashed by kids could also explain the hostility of Mangle, allowing her for maybe even sharper teeth than they seem. I dunno, they took out an eye and put on a freaking head on him from nowhere, so really these kids' magic have no limits to whatever they feel like pulling out of their asses.

In the unlockable character viewer, Toy Foxy (the unbroken version of Mangle), technically has two heads, as it has a parrot on its shoulder (a callback to the pirate theme, I suppose). This explains a few, though certainly not all, of the seemingly anomalous features seen in the final state of Mangle.

I personally think toy chica could be ruled out because unlike many of the other animatronics, toy chica doesn't have a jaw hinge. Looking at her design, it doesn't look like there's any way for toy chicas mouth to open any more than it already is, so she definitely couldn't have bitten down on somebody's head.

I'd like to add onto the evidence for Mangle a bit: during the phone call where he brings up the party, Phone Guy mentions to not let people near the animatronics (or something to that effect). However, since Freddy, Bonnie, and Chica would be on stage, it's unlikely anyone would be getting close enough to get bitten by one of them-but Mangle, as a take-apart-and-put-together attraction, would be getting close enough to bite someone. There's two details you forgot:
Mangle is a canine controlled anamotronic. They were a result of Afton learning to use remnant. They were given a voice in UCN due to fan's arguing about it's gender so you hear both in its speech. Hilarious.
Golden Freddy is controlled by two souls - Cassidy (the vengeful child of UCN) and crying child (Afton's youngest son). There is no endoskeleton in his suit. He most likely left an opening for Chica.
(Also yes, the second teeth are indeed of her endoskeleton)

I've actually been a Toy Chica accuser since FnaF 2 originally came out, due to the fact Toy Freddy/Bonnie have heavily obstructed jaws. Sure, they could _absolutely_ rip your face up but they'd never be able to chomp down on a skull hard enough to remove part of your brain, but Toy Chica (and Mangle, of course) absolutely have that capability.
But toy chica’s endoskeleton mouth is still obstructed so it’s impossible for her to even bite anyone. Mangle’s mouth actually opens fully for the endoskeleton to bite down.
And toy chica says in UCN “where’s my beak lodge in your forehead of course”

Mangle has always been my favorite animatronic. Her schtick is just so unique and the fact that he's so uniquely tortured by her role as a "pull apart and put together" animatronic adds extra intrigue to the character. I also wonder if maybe Foxy's "Out of Order" sign and the general belief from a lot of staff that he's uniquely dangerous could be related to Mangle causing the bite - as they see Foxy as a different version of Mangle and therefore just as potentially dangerous.

I personally think it's Toy Chica. She can remove her beak so the endo teeth, the ones that would actually deal damage (A sword made out of plastic sucks compared to actual metal.) so it would make less sense for somebody like Toy Freddy with their big snouts to be able to deal enough damage to straight up remove a frontal jaw. This is also why I don't think Mangle could've done it, she has the most amount of plastic teeth so her endo teeth would be the least exposed. Also, Mangle gets tore apart everyday. Her jaw would be quite bad. The kids have to had messed with her head since one of her eyes are messed up. Toy Chica has A. Easy access to actually sharp teeth B. The easiest place to bite people, most people would be at the stage. C. A jaw joint that hasn't been beaten up. These points are why I think Toy Chica did it.
there’s also the motif of toy chica’s bib and her characters association with food that may be hinting or foreshadowing a bite! its kinda overlooked which is really upsetting bc i think it’s one of the most unsettling uses of silent storytelling in the franchise - the implication that she’ll eat you.
plus one of scots clues was literally “why is toy chica missing her beak?” and i don’t think that’s ever been solved?

With Mangle being most likely as stated she would have a reason to cause the bite since she was abused so much would most likely hates all humans espically kids. Poor Mangle. Here’s why I think it’s Mangle ultimately:
If one of the original bit them (which the old ones shouldn’t even be OUT during the party lol) there’s no way those old models would later be redesigned to the FNAF 1 location.
Phony Guy wants the guy to carefully watch the animatronics to “make sure nothing goes wrong” this would entail to the “FUNCTIONING” animatronics, we would assume the party would take place in the main dining room so try all of the toys to perform for the kids, and with Toy Freddy, Chica, and Bonnie all present, including BB and Puppet, there’s only ONE animatronic that was NOT present! Mangle stays in KID COVE! Also, people say Mangle is just a take apart/put back together attraction now, so they could assume they wouldn’t really need to watch out for her since she’s not even physically capable of doing anything, or so they thought…
Here’s comes to the final evidence that PROVES it was Mangle!
Mangle can crawl on ceilings, and kids and adults would be focused at the party and the animatronics performing, and of course, if the security guard (the one who got locked in the pizzeria on night 6) was having to watch on the animatronics, he would’ve been able to get away from the animatronics if they decided to start attacking him, as he’s supposed to be keeping a close eye on them! BUT! Nobody is checking mangle as there is no need to! And this ultimately shows how the security guard lost his frontal lobe…
JUST LIKE FNAF 2, MANGLE COULD’VE DANGLED RIGHT ABOVE THE GUARD, AND THEN BITE ONTO HIM WITH NOBODY NOTICING!
To recap, here’s the reasons why I KNOW it’s Mangle!
1: None of the old animatronics coulda done it cause they were broken down therefor wouldn’t be at the party, this also would make sure the old models were gone for good IF they DID do it!
2: Bb and Puppet don’t have mouths able to do that, and they are attractions so somebody would’ve noticed them.
3: The main 3 were performing on stage while being watched closely by the security guard in the purple uniform.
4: Mangle was the only one not where the party was being held, so nobody had to bother keeping an eye on her, plus, she’s mangled up so they, again, can assume Mangle wasn’t physically capable to even more around at all.
5: An animatronic fox jaw would definitely be able to cause fracture to your frontal lobe knowing the animatronic’s design.
6: Mangle is able to crawl on the ceiling, which would prevent her from being noticed more easily.
7: Everyone else was focused on the other animatronics and the party, they would have no reason to look up at all to see Mangle crawling forward across the ceiling.
8: Mangle is logically the ONLY animatronic that could’ve done it based on where the animatronics were and what state they were in!
9: While the security guard would possibly be able to get away from a bite from the other animatronics that he’s right next to, watching over, he wouldn’t notice Mangle, so he wouldn’t have ANY way to to escape her bite on him!
And Finally…The Key Evidence…!
*10: Notice how up to this point every animatronic has been used in the same restaurants, despite being on display, or even just for parts? Well, in the FNAF 1 pizzeria, there was no trace of the toy animatronics AT ALL! Just the old models! This is because MANGLE was a toy animatronic! So when she BIT out his frontal lobe in 1987, the company would completely scrap the toy animatronics, for safety precautions, and to avoid future law suits!*

Friendly reminder Toy Chica can remove her beak. If you look up close at both Foxy and Mangle's teeth, they're capped off in blunt edges rather than coming to a pure point like the nightmares' teeth. However, their endo-teeth were super sharp.
We know it must have been a toy animatronic because the toys were scrapped. Mangle's long snout would have prevented the endo-teeth from piercing skin. Meanwhile, if Toy Chica had to do it, she could take off her beak and do it, which we know she can remove her beak. I came to the conclusion the endo teeth had to have been the set that did the damage because look at the classic animatronics (FNaF 1); their endo-teeth are flat and harmless by comparison. On top of that, Mangle's jaw doesn't seem to work. It is also implied that victim was Jeremy, since after night 6, on the Custom night, you play a different character named Fritz Smith. The buildup in the calls also makes sense, and at present, the toys don't seem to be possessed at all. The buildup being the toys not acting right around adults, and eventually leading to an attack. This can also be used to explain why the classic Chica can't remove her beak, and why most of them had upper teeth removed (friendly reminder that Freddy, Bonnie and Chica don't have upper teeth in FNaF 1. On top of that, Mangle wasn't the only toy animatronic to come into physical contact with people; they were allowed to move a out the restaurant as they pleased. As for Foxy being out of order in the first? That's probably because they assumed he would be too scary. But it's really up to the imagination since a clear answer was never given. And at this point, I doubt there will be at this point.

We could also imply that Michael Afton was the character we played as, this would explain how FNAF 2 was set in 1987. As you researched before mine cannot speak, move, or problem solving. We know that Scott (creator) hasn’t always exactly been perfect with medical accuracy but we can certainly assume this is not Michael. Fitzgerald can be confirmed as a character but a side character. I know 5 people to take out of this theory. The Freddy's of fnaf 2 including Golden Freddy, and the Bonnie's. Just look at their jaw shape and teeth. Just looks like the toys couldn't open their mouths too wide and small mouths. Back to the theory. I have an alternate theory that it was none of the animatronics. That someone found something they shouldn't and the company have them a lobotomy. They blamed one of the animatronics to cover it up. The only evidence for this is The Insanity ending in Pizza Sim.
To add on to the theory that Mangle did the bite of 87’ people have attempted to make Mangle’s radio more clear and attempted translations of the audio. The words “10-1” (something police say when they are losing signal), “frontal lobe”, and “child” are heard from Mangles radio. This tells us that this is audio from a police radio, calling for help for an injured/dying child with a head injury. I understand where this becomes confusing considering the bite never killed anyone but take into consideration the surprise of phone guy when he tells us that the person lived! This means the person could’ve been assumed dead but ended up living to the surprised of many. This also poses a question, why *does* Mangle have a radio? It seems odd for them to have a radio unless it is intentionally there for a specific reason. This is why I believe that Mangle did it. You did a wonderful job explaining all the evidence that Mangle did it better then I could! I just wanted to add another piece of evidence for this theory. :)
Ooooooh yea I remember that now there were people trying to translate her words, out of the 4 choices only mangle can have an actual mouth big enough to bite the frontal lobe, Chica could use her beak as a weapon but I doubt it because it'll take too much time infront of parents while all mangle needs to do is strike. Freddy and Bonnie have pretty weak jaws and couldn't bite the entire frontal lobe as good as mangle.
the audio beneath the static has been proven to be a drone operator, and the static is the drone's buzzing as far as I'm aware.
this was a year ago, I know, but, Ol' Mangle definitely didn't bite, mainly because
1: mangle was probably off during the time, not only would a animatronic with sharp teeth be off by default, but, if a child took off the wrong piece while it is on, it could cause sparks, which could cause injury and might cause a fire
2: The victim was an adult, not a child, remember, ALL of the animatronics interact with the kids just fine, but when they encounter an adult, they just...stare.
3: why would a adult be in KIDS Cove, it doesn't make sense
4: Toy Bonnies mouth can be pretty wide, wide enough to maybe mangle the frontal lobe, which could have it removed, same with Toy Freddy
So, in summery, it is either Toy Bonnie or Toy Freddy

Of course it was more likely mangle becase she was in the KIDS cove and jeremys job was to make sure the safety of the custumers and kids cove has to be popular since the fnaf 2 location was only opened for weeks and mangle is still get damaged very well in that little time.

I personally think that while the bite did a lot of damage, either phone guy was exaggerating when he said they lost their entire frontal lobe, or the frontal lobe was removed surgically after the event because it was too mangled. I mainly believe this because it would be very hard to have a broken robot bite someone with enough force to cut off their entire frontal lobe and preciously enough that it gets the entire lobe out seemingly without damaging other parts of the brain
Well if you think about it, if the frontal lobe was bitten off by whoever caused the bite, that would mean the animatronic went through their head and skull and punctured out the frontal lobe, so it's more likely that it was surgically removed
I also think that, I feel like mangle just severely damaged the frontal lobe so it had to be removed in the life saving surgery that the kid/adult went into shortly after being bitten.
When it said for the adults they just stair and toy Bonnie opens his eyes I thought that was perfect timing .

Fnaf 4 does take place in 1983. The withered animatronics were not the first freddy chica bonnie and foxy. If you look closely withered bonnie has buttons. So does freddy. The nightmare animatronics don't have buttons but take a close looks at withered chica's mouth and then nightmare chica's. It appears that withered bonnie might have had whiskers too. Just like nightmare Bonnie does. You might be asking what happened to the withered animatronics? Why does bonnie have his face torn off? Well think about it fnaf 3 shows the animatronics getting dismantled by William afton... You might be thinking those aren't the withered ones that he dismantles. They are. Proof? If you look closely freddy and bonnie have buttons in the fnaf 3 minigames, which means there was previous animatronics just like the fnaf one animatronics execpt creepier.
It was Toy Freddy because he played fortnite or some other game and lost on night 5. He then found the kid who killed him in the game and bites him.😆
Not gonna lie, even with a text-to-speech voice this was incredibly entertaining to watch.
for both theories:
in FNAF HW, when repairing Freddy you can see a child’s hat lodged in his mouth and a child’s shoe lodged within his inner chest mechanisms. this combined with the hand prints could also make him a valid suspect for the bite of 87. keep in mind, the phone calls in fnaf 2 AND many events being from the previous summer (as at the time, the place wouldn’t have been in such disrepair before the final birthday party) means that even though we’re there now, the bite has already happened long before/the prior summer. since Phone Guy welcomes you to your “new SUMMER job”. so Freddy could easily have been the culprit for the Bite of 87 just as much as Mangle. since they could have gotton out of the P&S room OR have left and bitten someone during the day. keep in mind, they were all allowed to roam during the daytime before the incident

It also makes sense for Mangle to be the culprit because phone guy said "stay close to the animatronics make sure they hurt anyone" and Mangle is literally torn apart and is the one to most likely to hurt someone due to malfunction sense her circuits are scrambled.
I feel like Jeremy Fitzgerald was most likely to have been the victim of the bite due to the fact that he has the dayshift at the time making him susceptible to being bitten. The fact that we play as a new nightguard during the custom night could be another implication.
It has to have been in, not a child at the party, as the animatronics were acting aggressive towards the staff, not the children

I too believe it is Mangle, but just some evidence to backup Withered Bonnie and Withered Chica NOT doing the Bite of 87 is: For Withered Bonnie, 1: He was locked up in the Parts and Services Room, 2: With no upper jaw it'd be impossible for him to bite anything, and 3: As you said, the Toy animatronics were scrapped rather than the Withered animatronics. For Withered Chica, she DOES actually have blood stains in her endoskeleton teeth in her FNaF 2 and FNaF VR Help Wanted forms, but then again they are most likely just from when Susie was shoved into the Chica animatronic. We know this because 1: The Withered animatronics are withered versions of the first Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy animatronics, and are the suits that the original murdered kids were shoved into. 2: These blood stains are on her model during the first nights of FNaF 2, before the Bite of 87 took place. All of the evidence backing up Withered Bonnie not being the culprit apply here as well. Thank You

I completely agree with your theory on the bite, I always believed it was Mangle. For phone guy’s death, I still believe it was Golden Freddy, but Chica is the second candidate.
