And if I remember correctly, the VP satellite they were with seemed like they wanted the organs to not be damaged. What happens if the Vegapunk was building a replacement body/clone for the Stella while using the organs to keep the main Stella alive until the replacement was ready? Stella 2.0 might still be developing and has yet to mature. It's likely his brain but I like the idea that Vegapunk had a contingency against his own mortality in place. The other VP's also seem a little unbothered by Stella's death

Franky becoming a ship reminds me that Oda did show us that Franky at the age of 70 during the bad timeline he turned himself into a ship & while I love the idea of the Thousand Sunny becoming a Mecha I see more likely that the Klabauterman takes over
I love the intro lol. But I gotta be honest here, I’m not a huge fan of Franky becoming a ship. In the SBS Oda says Franky turning into a battleship is a bad timeline. That would make this a bad timeline. Kuma spent literally 2 years with the Sunny protecting it. Thats longer than our crew spent with the Sunny. Also Franky’s dream is to build a ship that can traverse the world - the ship being the Sunny. Can there be upgrades? Definitely. But Franky replacing the ship or becoming the spirit of it doesn’t really sit well with me. The only things Franky has been since the timeskip has been a fighter or a show-off. I want to see Franky get attention as an actual character. Give him emotional beats. I was sure he’d get emotional beats in this arc, but it really has been a disappointment in that department. One of my biggest gripes with Oda is that he doesn’t give emotional situations to characters anymore unless it’s Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, or Nami. And Robin’s only emotional beats in the entire series after Enies Lobby is “remember that time in your life.” Even the Saul reveal was that. Give us more depth! If Franky or anyone that hasn’t gotten any real emotional beats since their intro (Brook, Chopper, Franky) dies, I will not be happy. For us to have real stakes, we need to care about these people beyond just their past, their cool feats, their designs, and their comedic quips. Let Franky have his moments with Vegapunk. The pace is great in Egghead, but the story needs to breath through the characters. Sigh. Sorry, I just had to get that out lol.

A big theme for Franky is building weapons - like how he built battleships and Tom told him to love his creations regardless and he had the blueprints for pluton. And he even built a power canon on the sunny. and Vegapunk is a reflection of that. Vegapunk created possibly one of the most destructive weapons in the mother flame and we’ve seen what it is like in the wrong hands. Maybe whatever Franky is doing is a continuation of that theme. Heck, maybe the thing bubbling at the end of the chapter was a Mother Flame.

my biggest confusion/observation with this chapter is the snail that mars sees. york says that the snail should have a triangle shell with a spiral, but the snail that mars is looking at doesn’t really appear to have a triangle shell. maybe i’m bad with shapes, but it could be a hint to something being amiss. one theory ive heard that i like is that there are two streams happening, the coffee stream that is being shown to the world government, and the real stream that is being shown to the people. maybe the snail is a slight hint towards that.

I doubt Franky will loose his body though, as that would severely limit character interactions. I think the Thousand Franky would be more of a mech situation than a transfered mind situation.

I’ve always thought franky’s wanted poster, his bad future timeline, and the idea that he became the Battle Franky 36 so nobody could wield his weapons was foreshadowing that Pluton was actually a shipwright who became his own ship and that just like Poseidon, the ancient weapon wasn’t an item but a person (and that Momo is actually Uranus, so just like Poseidon can control the sea kings, that’s why he can command the titans like Zunisha as opposed to just hearing them like the other D members)

Even with his recent time to shine, Franky is still due his big moment in Egghead. And as of the time of writing, the Sunny is stranded and could really benefit from turning into a Thousand Franky right now. Maybe a certain ancient robot might be involved in that as well.
I doubt Franky will loose his body though, as that would severely limit character interactions. I think the Thousand Franky would be more of a mech situation than a transfered mind situation.

As much as I’m not fond of franky fully losing his body, I do think the wanted poster mistake must have some payoff, and your theory fits it so good. Personally I don’t like the shogun franky design at all, so I hope a ship body wouldn’t be more like the sunny than shogun. I appreciate you being real about the Robin / stussey miss. I’m really hoping the glug sound is a giant brain being guarded by one complete seraphim, maybe of rocks or an emperor.

I’ve always thought franky’s wanted poster, his bad future timeline, and the idea that he became the Battle Franky 36 so nobody could wield his weapons was foreshadowing that Pluton was actually a shipwright who became his own ship and that just like Poseidon, the ancient weapon wasn’t an item but a person (and that Momo is actually Uranus, so just like Poseidon can control the sea kings, that’s why he can command the titans like Zunisha as opposed to just hearing them like the other D members)
