You can see here mark becoming progressively stronger and more battle ready, season 1 mark wouldnt have won against that thing
and more tactical in combat.

I like that this episode showed that Cecil does care about Mark, but will gear up to take him down if needs be.
I think it's more that he knows about the Viltrimite empire now.

He runs a fricking government agency. There's no sentiment, but national or global security. He may have genuine feelings towards Mark's family, but he must keep his distance and balance for the greater goal. it was known from the beginning.

If he wasn’t already voicing Art Rosenbaum, I would have thought that Mark Hamill would have been the perfect voice for Conquest…just the right combination of wheezy, raspy & gravelly.

Thought this was an okay episode. Felt like Atlantis stuff could have been an entire episode on its own instead of also squeezing Doc Seismic, Darkwing II, Shapesmith and the Martians, etc. in as well. Still I kind of appreciate how they’re trying to get these single/ 2 issue arcs from early in the comics out of the way sooner so they can leave more time for the early arcs about the sequids and the Viltrumites. Personally I hope we see stuff like Oliver’s introduction sooner rather than later.
There's only like 10 episodes per season, they can't afford to give an entire episode to the fish people subplot. I think they gave it exactly as much screentime as it merited, no more and no less.
Oliver will probably appear next episode.

Wait, does this mean this beast is stronger than Hail Mary all juiced up? Since Mark didn't get this messed up against that. Would've surely come in handy when Omni-man was on the loose lol.
I doubt it mark was fighting it underwater it probably isn't as efficient on land and mark was casually hurting it
Considering it can generate Sonic vibrations, it can capitalize on Marks biggest weakness unlike Hail Mary which relied on brute force.
@@jfoster8624yeh, the show brought up a point in how fly fighting works and underwater must be even more difficult to maneuver.
He had his dad helping against that. That Hail Mary thing might very well have eaten him if he had to face it alone? He got smart with the high-voltage power lines nearby in that case.

Just letting you know man the season has a break mid way through so binging after ep 4 releases might be the way to go

I don't think he wants to betray him, he just wants to know how to beat him if he ever turns evil like Omni Man.
No the reason he is so interested is, because he hopes, that whatever weakness he has is shared by the Viltrumite race. He is preparing their invasion, and if he can neutralize the entire race somehow, then he gladly tell Mark to stay away to beat everyone else without him.

Season 2 is pretty great but it can't compete with the og season 1 . From the episode 1 Omni man and mark stole the show
We had 2 episodes which were mostly set up for later. Let's save judgment until the whole season is out.
Episode 2 really didn't work me some of the dialogue was so stale and felt nothing like the quality of last season

Am I the only one who's bothered by the fact that Cecil told Mark to get away? Especially after how he stressed that the fish people can control the oceans and do a lot of damage. I think in this particular instance the changes from the comic were done poorly.
He also said this wasn't the deal he was told by the fish people. Cecil is looking out for Mark.
He only has ONE of him. Mark is valuable. He can't sacrifice Invincible. Yes, the fish people have power but sacrificing the ONLY viltrumite he will ever have control over is a HUGE asking price in and of itself. Especially when an invasion of the things is coming.
@@williamstark9568 Your reasoning is excellent, the only problem is that it's Cecil that told Mark that the meeting was gonna be marriage related by their own intel (which he admits is not up to date), the only thing the fish people asked is to get Mark there for their trial to take place.
My main gripe with this segment is that the changes are done poorly and it either makes Cecil look unintelligent (he sent Mark on a diplomatic mission with outdated intel) or create a big problem (the fish people controlling the oceans and possibly deal great damage to land and/or naval transportation), on the other hand, the only purpose of it in this is to see that viltrumites are vulnurable to sonic damage, I'm not gonna make a big deal out of it, I forgot about it until you responded to my comment.
whatever the last few episodes have been nothing but filler, nothing so far has been cannon material.
Isnt this litteraly displaying marks growth while also revealing a potential weakness of the viltrumites?

@@colin8696908 This isnt a one-to-one recreation of the source material, its a reimagining. Like how The Boys are to its source material. Just because an episode doesnt cover comic content doesn't mean its filler trash nobody cares about. This episode fleshes out the world, gives insight to new character dynamics and growth, and forshadows upcoming events. It matters in the grand scheme of things so its literaly by defenition not filler. The invincible tv series is its own thing.
This is literally a seperate timeline, nobody cares whether this is anime filler or not.
