Hi! I’m a junior in high school right now and i’m looking into being on something like carnivals fun squad at some point. Is it better to get a degree first, or is it fine to join a ship straight out of high school? and what kind of working experience should i get? (anyone can answer this) thanks!! :)
Hey! It's totally personal preference. Some positions may require a degree but I am not completely sure. I went to college for one year before deciding to leave to pursue my dancing career! Good Luck
ainsley wochele it’s your personal choice, if you are willing to take a couple years off school to experience traveling at your young age. Or depends on what degree you are looking at going into college. Will it relate to hospitality management or another course of some sort, then get it out of the way first. But it’s all your choice, on how comfortable you are to travel while young. Working on a ship, you do learn a lot and have a much wider prospective in life. By the way, I’m a veteran with Carnival’s fun squad, over 10 years.
I’ve been on several cruises and stayed in few rooms on the inside that didn’t have a window and it was very difficult to wake up every morning without the sun light. How did you deal with that?
When on a cruise ship do you get to use the ship's facilities that the customers use or are you confined to the lower decks for the duration of the trip I can't find anyone talking about it
Mick Rowland i heard from other videos that people sometimes go to dinner in guest areas or get food, but have to be wearing name tags still. idk if that helps but that’s what ive heard :)
@@divinemothofbluelake thank you I was really on about we know most employees live in the lower decks most without windows and work everyday but I was wondering if they could use the pools sunbath on the decks before or after their shifts or are they restricted to the lower decks unless in port when they can get off if they chose
@@mikerowland5020 They're not allowed to use pools and activities, so they're not constricted to the lower parts, but there are rules as to what they can do!
Hi great question! Each ship/company has different rules regarding the use of guest area. This also goes for the job position held- each job has different rules. As an entertainer, Dancer/Vocalist with RCCL I was able to use the guest area but had to be wearing a name tag and follow a specific dress code. I was able to use pool/deck area during port days when most guests got off. As always, guests come first!
Depends on the line. if you dont want to take any chances, you should try out for Virgin Voyages' new ships; of course assuming you want to work on a cruise ship, and is not just going on vacation.
Hi! There are different musicals/productions for each ship.. so when you audition you know what potential ship you'd be on if you booked that specific job. Though I am pretty certain for other crew positions you are able to preference a ship!
I spent a year in a half on a coast guard 180 foot round bottom ship in the baring sea!
Sat through the ramble and enjoyed it :) Thanks for taking the time. Also, your hair. Insane! ^_^
Yay! Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you! :)

And how many years of work experience did you have?
Hi there 👋🏽 your hair is gorgeous. Quick question. I heard that the water on-board is very bad for your hair 😫 please tell me it isn’t true?

Thank you! And tbh, I noticed the water affecting to my skin not hair! :/
Freddy Spaghetti why virgin?
Do you get to choose the ship you want to work in when you first apply?

Hi alex
A "small ship" is 2,000 or 3,000 people? LoL! Try being on a Navy tin can with about 500 and the ship takes 20 degree rolls every couple seconds.
you sound like u dont want another contract.. And ur hair looks gorgeous..
Aman jaiswal she literally just got done saying like five times it’s not for her and she doesn’t see herself ever doing another one
