These claims are so true. I worked on set as an extra a few times and at one point she even cursed down the hall at the director because she was “tired” of doing the scene over and over. They then ended up releasing us 🙄 and called it a day. The rest of the cast were very nice.

I met Kate Hudson when they had the wrap party for the movie Idiocracy at the bar where I worked. She was easily the kindest most down to earth celebrity I’ve ever met. If she has something negative to say about someone they must be truly awful.

Several years ago I went to see Glee cast at Comic Con in San Diego. A fellow fan told me earlier that day she got into a hotel elevator and to her surprise she was in there with Chris, Jenna and Lea. The fan was excited and dying inside and said hi and happily waved to all three. Chris and Jenna smiled waved hi and Lea rolled her eyes and looked away rudely. That true story from her showed me how messed up Lea was to the very people who really admired her on the show. A lot of them probably needed their jobs and couldn't afford the luxury to call it quits at will because of Lea, especially because there are contracts and legalities involved and other consequences to consider, so it's not that simple. It was also not their fault that Lea was enabled to wreak havoc in the set for the entirety of the show. The producers are at fault for not putting Lea in her place.
She was a broadway star in her teens and probably swooned over so much that this kind of diva behavior was encouraged in her developing years. On Broadway there is always competition and some people dont know how to cope with that other than in a negative way. If all her confidence was based on her talent then anyone who also exhibited talent was a personal threat to her which made her act out. No one seems to have ever corrected this behavior and so it carried over into adulthood. She is probably super sweet to executives, directors and producers but feels like she is in constant competition with her co stars (although she landed the role) and if your whole identity and confidence is wrapped up in your talent and your achievements then you end up being a total diva. Cory probably helped with that behavior and gave her confidence but when he was gone all that grief brought her right back into her bad habits and then no one said anything bc she was grieving and thus the bad behavior continued. I feel sad for her. She never was taught right. Maybe she will learn from this but her elitist behavior seems deeply engrained and it will take a lot of effort on her part to change.

It was basically planned like that before she auditioned. Jonathon Groff introduced Lea to Ryan Murphy and when he met her he told her that he thought he’d be perfect for a new show he was making called Glee.
I used to watch this show until I Stopped around Season 3 cause the Rachel character is beginning to be a pain to watch. I remember liking the cheerleaders more than her which is weird to me cause as cliche as it sounds that cheerleader being the jerks they actually made more impression on me and the unpopular girl Rachel was being the antagonist in my eyes. My favorite was Quinn. When they sidelined her in the show I lost interest entirely.
It’s really not a good show... it’s actually really bad, with Rachel (Lea Michele's character) being the worst on the show. Also, they butchered some of the greatest songs in history. Mostly when Rachel sang because of how over the top she went singing and how she hogged the spotlight, or when Will Schuester (the teacher) did anything. I’ve only watched the whole show all the way through once. Never again.

The reason why she was so good at playing the role of Rachel Barry was because the show modelled the character after her irl personality. Apparently the way Rachel was originally different wasn’t supposed to be so nuts and self-absorbed but they changed after Lea auditioned because they liked the way she auditioned (not realizing it was her actually personality, they mistake took her actual personality for “being in character rawness”)

It is SO important how you treat people early on in your career in any career. The people around you are the ones who will help connect you in the future. As much as Lea is to be blamed, Ruan Murphy and Brad Falchuk are at fault too. They let it happened. And because there was no consequences to her actions, because she was "the star" of the show, it pretty much continued on throughout years and years of the show being filmed and produced.

Not completely related but makes me love Chris: I volunteered at a hospitality center for middle aged people with disabilities, and this woman there LOVED him. She wasn't able to speak much, but she read all his books, went to his signings, and circled her name in his book (her name is Autumn so it was in there as a season). Sweetest lady ever and fangirled to me abt him for an hour

These claims are so true. I worked on set as an extra a few times and at one point she even cursed down the hall at the director because she was “tired” of doing the scene over and over. They then ended up releasing us 🙄 and called it a day. The rest of the cast were very nice.

Several years ago I went to see Glee cast at Comic Con in San Diego. A fellow fan told me earlier that day she got into a hotel elevator and to her surprise she was in there with Chris, Jenna and Lea. The fan was excited and dying inside and said hi and happily waved to all three. Chris and Jenna smiled waved hi and Lea rolled her eyes and looked away rudely.
That true story from her showed me how messed up Lea was to the very people who really admired her on the show. What actress/star doesn’t appreciate the fans that watched them year afree year and helped get that stardom??? What’s wrong with her?? Seriously

A lot of them probably needed their jobs and couldn't afford the luxury to call it quits at will because of Lea, especially because there are contracts and legalities involved and other consequences to consider, so it's not that simple. It was also not their fault that Lea was enabled to wreak havoc in the set for the entirety of the show. The producers are at fault for not putting Lea in her place.
She was a broadway star in her teens and probably swooned over so much that this kind of diva behavior was encouraged in her developing years. On Broadway there is always competition and some people dont know how to cope with that other than in a negative way. If all her confidence was based on her talent then anyone who also exhibited talent was a personal threat to her which made her act out. No one seems to have ever corrected this behavior and so it carried over into adulthood. She is probably super sweet to executives, directors and producers but feels like she is in constant competition with her co stars (although she landed the role) and if your whole identity and confidence is wrapped up in your talent and your achievements then you end up being a total diva. Cory probably helped with that behavior and gave her confidence but when he was gone all that grief brought her right back into her bad habits and then no one said anything bc she was grieving and thus the bad behavior continued. I feel sad for her. She never was taught right. Maybe she will learn from this but her elitist behavior seems deeply engrained and it will take a lot of effort on her part to change.
Very well worded. It's quite sad and would take a lot of work to change something so entangled into someone's personality. It's a shame, because she is insanely talented and could have had an incredible Broadway career, but you also need a healthy mentality and teamwork spirit for that.

It was basically planned like that before she auditioned. Jonathon Groff introduced Lea to Ryan Murphy and when he met her he told her that he thought he’d be perfect for a new show he was making called Glee.
I used to watch this show until I Stopped around Season 3 cause the Rachel character is beginning to be a pain to watch. I remember liking the cheerleaders more than her which is weird to me cause as cliche as it sounds that cheerleader being the jerks they actually made more impression on me and the unpopular girl Rachel was being the antagonist in my eyes. My favorite was Quinn. When they sidelined her in the show I lost interest entirely.
She was a great actor. Lea. I'm inspired by her.

It’s really not a good show... it’s actually really bad, with Rachel (Lea Michele's character) being the worst on the show. Also, they butchered some of the greatest songs in history. Mostly when Rachel sang because of how over the top she went singing and how she hogged the spotlight, or when Will Schuester (the teacher) did anything.
I’ve only watched the whole show all the way through once. Never again.

The reason why she was so good at playing the role of Rachel Barry was because the show modelled the character after her irl personality. Apparently the way Rachel was originally different wasn’t supposed to be so nuts and self-absorbed but they changed after Lea auditioned because they liked the way she auditioned (not realizing it was her actually personality, they mistake took her actual personality for “being in character rawness”)
Ngl I’m mildly glad that they gave her the absolute worst storyline in season 6 now 😂

After Cory passed away, Ryan tried to please Lea and hired Demi to be part of season 5 because "Lea and Demi were best friends". Demi did it, Lea seemed to be very happy with it and now they don't follow each other on Instagram. Demi follows Kevin, Chord and other cast members but she doesn't follow Lea and Lea doesn't follow her. Curious.

It is SO important how you treat people early on in your career in any career. The people around you are the ones who will help connect you in the future. They are the ones who will go on to meet other people that could lead you on to your next stint. But instead she chose to act better than everyone and put people down, unfortunately for her that was how she was remembered.

Kayla Pounds because she was a total mary sue, to the point where she was dubbed “marley sue” on socials. It was because the writers tried to establish her as another rachel that could do no wrong and was super talented and perfect (when in fact melissa herself is a lovely person so it failed, whereas lea is shit and it showed).

Sounds like good old fashioned jealousy and immaturity of Lea's costars. Diva attitudes have been around for decades. Maybe that's where Lea picked up on ot while she was on Broadway as a kid, and the others were not known in the business. It is par for course in acting because actors are notoriously insecure. You either act like a diva if you're insanely talented, or you act like an a**hole to the insanely talented when you're not on their level. There are the decent anomalies somewhere in the middle. My friends dealt with divas in HS through college and into an acting career. 🤷♀️

When it comes down to it Lea has gone on to do great things and the others really didn't. Frankly, they used controversy to get attention and to try and bring her down. What Chris did on the episode he wrote to be push everyone down and lift himself up goes right along with his truth. But I guess that's acceptable.
