One of the best episode in show
It's arcs and episodes like this that I love about the show.
Too bad even Asuma's death is ruined in the war arc. And it's lame that Naruto has to be there to finish off Kakuzu.
@@greyngoyeah and realistically Naruto shouldve lost to Kakuzu. It wouldve been better if it was a team effort to make Naruto hit Kakuzu with the Rasenshuriken.

The filler additions in this episode are simply perfect.
These are one of the episodes I have to give credit to the anime studio for coming up with this idea because most of this was not in the manga chapter back then, the talk between Shikamaru and Shikaku is so good
One of the best animated episodes in the show, like Neel said it feels like a completely different anime with the less-saturated palate. Feel like if we got more arcs like Waves and kept this sorta coloring the show would feel so much darker.
Not only animated, but directed or storyboarded.

Shikamaru is so lucky. Hidan and Kakuzu spared their lives. Even with the reinforcements, it will still be an easy battle for the 2 Akatsuki members.

@@Lil__blood__122 Yeah, after strategizing, making plans, preparations, etc. Shikamaru is a 10/10 character but it's highly unlikely that they would have lived back then.
When you see what else happened to Team 10, this felt so unfair.

On ep 136 she gave the most boring and annoying reaction. When Itachi tried to take sasukes eye she was just rolling her eyes around and like blinking like she was tired and it's like go to sleep if you're tired !!!
The thing that annoyed me about this stratagy was ino and choji being pretty much useless because of the shear strength and skill diffrence,
No to mention the fact he knew nothing about kakazu, it just didnt make any sense, they all would of died in seconds if kakashi wasnt there, kishimoto could of at least have them put up a little more of a fight.

It was kinda hinted at the beginning of this episode, if you listen closely, you can hear the sound of a baby crying even though she's pregnant
