@@pooch8270Dude powerscaling went through the roof and you know it. Most of the fights were pretty grounded until Madara shows up and fights 5 kage at once with no effort and then repeatedly states that hashirama was more powerful than that.

I swear Studio Pierrot is complete trash man, why the heck did they adapt this scene 6:55 in a completely different way from the manga just to make Ino look like a self-sabotaging dumb and Kakuzu like a delusional allucinatory dude? What the hell were they thinking? Here Ino's clutch role consists of communicating the exact location of Hidan and Kakuzu and the landscape in which they will have to engage them in battle, it is essential both to allow the team to position themselves perfectly (in the right places to hide and at the right times to intercept them promptly) in the clearing of dry trees (a vastly open field, normally a very difficult place to carry out an assault) for an ambush/surprise attack (the Nikudan Hari Sensha-Raikiri combo that successfully destroyed Kakuzu's water heart), and precisely to ensure that the Zombie Combo doesn't suspect that is being tailed/spied on and can therefore elaborate a counteroffensive with 10 minutes of tactical advantage. Shikamaru's plan wouldn't even have started without this scouting action by Ino. Not only does this writing choice make the scene seem completely senseless and pointless, but it also suggests that everything that happens in the following minutes (from Shikamaru throwing the two Kibaku Fuda kunai to Kakashi piercing Kakuzu with the Raikiri at his back) is due to pure luck, that they succeeded by accident, not as a result of the strategic knowledge acquired through Ino's intel. Last but not least, it strongly contradicts the manga because it downplays Kakuzu's skills; if he really knew they were being followed, he would have reacted in some way, setting a trap himself, ordering Hidan to speed up their pace or whatever, while the fact that he warns him to avoid the shadow means that he noticed it a few seconds before, thus the Jiongu heart placed underground when he was inside the fog produced by the explosion is a display of his quick thinking and responsiveness. No wonder the reactors think Ino suddenly became stupid and that the situation with Kakuzu is so weird.
yeah. while he did have some solid strategies, with just him, Ino and Choji, they would have gotten destroyed. I think the main issue was that he was still underestimating Kakuzu a lot, as Shikamaru hadn't seen the full extend of his abilities yet.

It's a shame that we mainly see Shikamaru dealing with Asuma's death--granted, Ino and Choji weren't there, but it still left an impact on them.
