Is the propeller suppose to sit nice and flush in the water pump housing? Bc the one I have on my boat it turns like your old propeller and my pee valve pee a strong stream...help?
Great video. I just replaced the water pump on my 1977 Johnson 75 hp stinger, and The prop is VERY hard to turn with my hand. I'm also having trouble lining the gear shaft (or whatever it's called, back up. I have the lower unit completely attached, but it looks like the gear shaft is shifted a little bit. Any tips?? Thanks.
If your going to go to the trouble of removing the foot and replacing the impeller why not buy the kit and replace everything including gaskets and bolts new housing?
Great video. The motor is in neutral I gather???? If drive shaft does not line up when re- fitting is it safe to turn either driver shaft or power head in either clockwise or anti clockwise directions?? Hope someone can help?

I have a 2000 70hp 2 stroke, must be pretty much the same process for the 2 stroke as it is for your 4 stroke?
I just did this on a 2 stroke yamaha outboard 70hp. Same process.
How do I tell if the spines are lined up I’ve took it out and put it back in but the prop will not turn with the lower unit all the way in

Good video, but you do realize that once the impeller housing is on the impeller fins will be in the bent position.
Does shift cam rotate? You do not need to release or loosen it like in smaller engines where rod goes up and down when you change the gear.

Can I put the garden hose through the water intake and run the motor to flush the salt water out instead off using ear muff? Thanks
If you hook the hose up to the water intake directly to the motor, do not run your motor just let it flush itself out

That makes no sense. That has nothing to do with the impeller
Did you ever fix it?
Regrease upper part of shaft before reassembly. This shaft part goes to crankshaft and could corrode badly.
