Fab video, fab job, love to see an old David Brown.....so much character. Love to see you restore a slightly older one from the 50s or early 60s, say a little 850 or 880 in Hunting Pink
Nice one, and that is also a good size/capacity tractor for most work. About your pre-war Peugeot car, I think you can cut and fabricate a door on the passenger side to make it a 2 door car. The time that car was built was when there were still a number of coach builders and car manufacturers used to send unfinished chassis to them to build custom coach bodies on. Thats what I think Peugeot did, build the car with one less door, cheaply and let the customer get the other door put in by the coach works if they wanted.🐞
Nice summary. It came out great. I've an 885 that ive been doing myself. Put it aside for the summer but just getting back at it now again for the winter. It's a labour of love with these old tractors...but worth it!
Steve..growing up on a farm i have a soft spot for all types of farm vehicles..the tractors are the backbone of all good farming ..and this is some of your best work..least to me..thx for the video..
You must share with me, the secret to your energy. I'm 69 and I wake up with a bucket of energy, when that bucket is empty, I'm done. Your bucket never goes empty. Beautiful tractor!
My secret? No alcohol, no smoke , lots of sex 😀. And a lovely girlfriend. A good dose of humor and always looking forward. Never regret anything, eat well. Yes lots of vegies and Good steak. No space for sadness and worries.
I found this channel during lockdown and kept a check on the content. It's great to see someone take so much care, and spend so much time restoring these classics of days gone by. Respect to you, Sir. You're a proper engineer.
Good job as usual. I had a simular job last winter. Restored an 1969 Lindner BF320 A (Austrian awd tractor). Looks pretty good and I also use it on my farm.
You're a versatile guy Steve! Great vid as always. Was just nosing around an old Belarus tractor this morning but the MGB beckons as usual... same age at 54. Have a great weekend engineering //i
David Brown, what a workhorse! Steve, you're a very interesting fellow, may I be so bold as to ask you to tell us about your life history? Like, is that a longtime family farm or did you buy it recently? What did you do during your working life? Apologies if this is to personnel.
Haha, maybe i make one video on that. I have the farm since 30 years. I guess i could make another video on it. But i do have some on my channel. There is a playlist on that
Hello there I have a 996 and 60% of the bonnet was missing, rusted away as it sat by the sea for 2 years before I got it. Could you tell me what the bonnet measures from the front of the light holder to where the dash attaches please. The centre measurement would do nicely. I am rebuilding it but not for show just to be useable. M 😀
It is an 50 year old machine, to call this less then a restoration is an insult to you, amazing work!

Your tractor is a living heritage, with elements of both tangible and intangible culture. This is a very appropriate use of your skills. Well done!
