You know I'm just kidding about the George thorogood thing. I grew up in the 70s played guitar in a band. We all had hair down the middle of our backs.
Yes I know, I’ve seen and replied to your comments before on other videos. 😃 glad yo have you. My Parents were in their 20’s in the 70’s so me being the 90’s 😆 I still grew up on my parents listening to music from back then. So I know a lot of those songs as well.
You gotta love it when most of the tree is already off the ground. Bending all the way down with a saw kills my back. Thats some really nice looking wood you got there.
Not to mention, it dulls the hell out of your chain when it hits the dirt... but yeah, my back no likey. Was loving the roadside norway maple i processed today. All but 1 limb were well off the ground, as the stump was holding it up! Fastest bucking ive done in a long time- and my chain is still sharp!
Great job! Free wood is a good thing, I use 10-15 cords a year. As a matter of fact, that’s exactly my plan today. Cut when it’s cool, heat is tough. Careful with the saw above your shoulders, just had a logger killed like that. Remember: a sharp saw is dangerous a dull one deadly.
I really enjoy your videos. I often scavenge road side blowdowns and dead trees to support my firewood habit. I even scavenge wood from my neighborhood when friends have trees cut down by tree services and a get free or low cost wood right there.
You know I’m not real old I had my landscape business and you guys inspire me to get off my ass and do it again I had two surgeries on my back and I do a lot of work with a chainsaw steel but it kind of sucks
Nice haul. I normally just take wood right by the road, I don’t want to venture on to someone’s property. I’ve had a couple of close calls and wear chaps now. Picked up at least one nick on those.🇨🇦
Nice cutting. What size bar are you running on your 461? If the log is lightweight and easy to cut it can be poplar. Poplar will burn and makes good kindling.
Was horrible to split even the small rounds and smelled terrible like you said. I’m well aware of how crappy it is to split elm and I Would have left it there if I knew that’s what it was.
Sir, If you would like more subscribers,1 get a hair cut. It would improve your appearance..2 Wear some eye protection 3.Wear some gloves. I would subscribe but power braking the truck really turned me off. Wearing loose fitting clothing is not recommended while cutting wood. Best of luck to you. I admire your ambition.
1: everybody is entitled to their opinion, doesn’t make it a right one 2 glasses meh whatever ❄️ 3: wearing gloves provides way less control of the saw thus making it more dangerous during operation. 4: wasn’t me driving my truck at the time I’m more than happy with 30-40 subs per new video Welcome back anytime brother
@@allaboutoutdoors5083 Sir, I read your reply and I will admit that I was 100% in the wrong for making my past comment. I apologize for making it. However as to the gloves and eye protection I will stand. Yes I admit that gloves may hinder the feeling of the saw I was only concerned for your safety as well as the eye protection. "Merry Christmas" Thank you for the invitation. Ken
I just turned your station on and I did not know you are a man you look like a woman wow times have changed. It is hard to tell you people you have changed back in my day. It was easy to tell a man from a woman nowadays, everyone looks a womanso sorry.
@@allaboutoutdoors5083 That brings up a great question... How much would you want to be paid per hour to work for someone else? Say residential building for example? Not asking what you make, just curious what's the temptation point??
@@jamesrussell6870 honestly I used to work for $10/hour when I was 16-18 ish busting my A** off landscaping and grass cutting and the one day I seen the boss’ books and seen how much he was making and compared to how much all the employees were getting. (Peanuts 🥜) That’s when I decided to quit and do it myself 😆. I wouldn’t work a labor intensive job for under $20/hr and that’s under the table not on the books definitely more if I had the skills to do the specific job at hand and on the books. I There is a certain set of questions though. Like your skill level at the job, and how well you fill the position that you were hired for, what do you specifically bring to the table the next guy wouldn’t. A lot of people think $20/hr is a lot when they compare it to a hardware store 9-5 making minimum $7.25 when really without taxes taken out 20/hr is only $38k/year. I would just about be skating by with no money left over to spend with the bills I have 😝 and this is western pa, obviously location matters as well. Cost of living etc.

I don't think that Young man would be picking up Oak like that!!!
You’d be suprised neither would I though 😆 I’d bring the bobcat

Heck yeah, can never have too much. I get it pretty much wherever I can. 👍🏼
The way he has to carry those log pieces, the kid's not going to need any body-building exercises. Good work, and hard too.

That’s a great looking load of wood . Very nice call on the round rolling on you !!
Great score. Great videos.
Keep gettin in to it :44 I enjoy watching your channel grow
Just broke 500 subs a few days ago so hopefully we can cross the 1000 soon 💪🏼 thanks for the support 👍🏼
Roll those rounds. Don't break your back.....
Thanks 😊

At least you have ear protection on. I cut the same way you do. But have prescription glasses that fog all the time.
Yeah it’s a hassle, still does make glasses that have lenses that are supposed to be fog proof. Never tried them though
Good afternoon my friend. What state are you in I love your videos very much
PA 🎊
Nice cutting. What size bar are you running on your 461? If the log is lightweight and easy to cut it can be poplar. Poplar will burn and makes good kindling.
It was a 32” bar and the tree I wasn’t sure on ended up being an elm tree. Had I known it was elm, I would have left it there.
Subscribed brother!
Good looking load you guys got. There was a full day's work for sure. You partner can sure do some lifting.
Man glitter that's a funny one. I should tell the wife man glitter bought your new refrigerator. And your new car.
I asked the lady at the convenience store how she liked my man glitter. She now thinks im weird...
That's a nice score for free..
Its.a.tree.that.makes.wood.you.do.a.good.show.buddy.m
Tree you wondering about is an American Elm
Piss elm. That's why it's called that
Where did find that to measure your rounds
www.amazon.com/dp/B0013LGQ3A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_RT5QH5T0MNYADWMKHQ9M
You might be able to find it five or $10 cheaper somewhere else but that’s the product. I prefer that over anything I found so simple.
Can't hook those logs over after they're ¾ cut to keep your saw off the ground..
Is your forest there. ?
It might be Poplar if it is yellow and kinda lite
Everything was mostly ash but it ended up being an elm. If I had known it would have just gotten left where it was at
Beast mode lol
💪🏼 always 💪🏼
Wait till you split the smelly wood. If it’s stringy and smells, red elm is my guess.
Was horrible to split even the small rounds and smelled terrible like you said. I’m well aware of how crappy it is to split elm and I Would have left it there if I knew that’s what it was.
I was splitting some and thought the dairy farm down the road was spraying manure it smelled so bad!
NO EYE WEAR , THATS NOT GOOD // SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY
Only impaires vision when they fog up every 3 minutes from sweating vs the temperature outside
You’re a bad dude I’ll like chainsaws and cutting wood also my back is so fucked up not seeing yours is going to be watch your back brother
Probably get 20 thousand views of you cutting your hair, just saying 😊
Views ain’t worth the 🙎♀️ I’d be giving up 🤷♂️ 🤪
Looks like elm here in Ohio elm smells kind of sour
Mulberry
Or walnut but I'm sticking with mulberry
Maybe not dunno
You are not logging you are cutting firewood
