Bought my first AF a couple of weeks ago ( used your link), and loving it. I’ve been learning to make different things with it and I’m grateful to have found your channel.
My husband has been obsessed with making homemade Air Fryer French Fries! This is a great video and explains a lot! Thank you for sharing and my favorite FF dipping sauce is Lick-dob (ketchup and Miracle Whip).
Hi Kathy!!! I never tried Homemade Fries in the AF. My Grandsons always liked homemade ones when they were little. I will have to try your recipe. YUMS!!! Thanks for these all these tips. I will give these a try for sure . Great Video my dear friend!!!...🦋
Thank you for showing us the detailed method which is more "chef like" compared to an easier low fuss way. I enjoy how methodical your videos are, you're really testing out different steps in systematic way. I have heard about soaking and drying fries well, some putting them in frig or freezing them before cooking. I like your idea to dry them out in the air fryer, less extra dish. For fry dip sauce, I am ketchup first, but I like to mix with some hot sauce- sriacha or sambal. Sometimes with tobacco if you want extra vinegar flavor.
I'm actually making fries tonight and definitely using these tips. Except I'm going to rinse them off, then soak them beer for a good while, adding some extra flavor. Now rewind, and let's go! Thanks for making the video. Editing isn't bad either!
I use a Ninja Foodi 4-in-1 8-Quart. 2-Basket Air Fryer. I don't do all the extra stuff you do to cook fries - I have a fry/wedge cutter that makes cutting them up quicker and keeps them very uniform. I don't care for the avocado oil, tastes funny to me. I use olive oil and for me the key is using plenty of oil on the fries. In my unit I cook them at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes (my fryer is smaller so the quantity is less). They turn out fantastic. Sometimes I'll mix up some garlic, parmesan, basil and salt to sprinkle on them for a little different flavor. (I also have silicone baskets to help with the cleanup - just throw them in the dishwasher). I use your cookbook all the time. I also use the Lotteli Air Fryer Magnetic Cheat Sheets I got off Amazon, they are very helpful in choosing temperatures and times for various items. I really enjoy your videos and how you include the family! You are very helpful and inspiring. Oh, by the way, I'm a ketchup guy all the way.
Kathy .. haven't been able to watch in a while and I still haven't used my new air fryer. Which is my first one.. and I have had it since November but haven't moved yet and won't use it till I get to a new place but I want to ask you please if using the parchment liners or whatever liners in a Teflon basket eliminates the Teflon problems? I keep hearing the warnings and I really don't care that much and I really so looking forward to using this air fryer and my new Drew Barrymore crock pots and my George Foreman grill! I haven't been in my own home for a long time and that's why I'm just getting to these things now as soon as I move which is imminent!😊
Without a doubt, the way you did these fries is the best way...but I use my air fryer while truck camping "off grid", meaning I'll have a limited water supply and don't want to waste so much getting rid of the starch. I've been told that just soaking the cut potatoes for a solid half hour then a rinse does the trick. Real potatoes are nice, but the frozen ones in a bag taste pretty good too if you do them right...just 8 minutes. Toss and lightly oil, spice up at 5 minutes and they're quite tasty.
I love ketchup, mayo, ranch, bbq, cheese sauce or a Wendy's frosty to dip my fries into BUT being I lived in Salt Lake City for 5 years I REALLY REALLY REALLY LOVE LOVE LOVE fry sauce.
I love French fries. When I was 2 years old, my mother took me and my friend Maya to McDonald's. Maya ordered the fries. I tried some fries and I loved them. When I was 6 years old, I only ate the fries when I had school lunch. I didn't know what French fries were made of. When I turned 7 years old, I asked my mother what French fries were made of. She said, "Potatoes." When I turned 14 years old, my mother made French fries for the entire family I live with. My little brothers and I ate the French fries when we played Monopoly. Now, I am 28 years old. I am still living at home with my family due to being on the autism spectrum ever since kindergarten.
Hi I'm new to your channel.I saw you did meatball cheese pastrys but I can't seem to find that vid again.Any chance you could direct me to it please as would love to try.Thankyou
Hi. You are a great youtuber, you explain really well and I really like your videos. I appreciate that fact that you almost replicated the result of a deep frying cooking. There is just one problem with this recipe, quite a lot of oil is used (which is then quite similar to a deep frying) and probably the cooking time is even longer than deep frying. The process ends into something that is neither healthier nor faster or easier.
Dip in Thai sweet chilli sauce - the type that has chunks in it. And a bowl of sour cream to go beside it. Or Toum (Middle eastern garlic sauce/dip) No double dipping in company.
I watched your comparison video of the Cosori dual blaze and Cosori Pro ll. When I looked on Amazon, I only found Cosori Dual Blaze Pro lll. 😵💫 what’s the difference? I don’t know what to buy. Help!
Hey! They just changed the Dual Blaze name. So the "Dual Blaze Pro III" is just like the Dual Blaze you saw in that video.... two burners so no need to flip!
I have to try this method of French fries. On my fries its got to be barbecue sauce or just salt. I'll give this method a go. I don't like ketchup. Thanks for sharing!.
What kind of mister should I get? I can use regular oil right? Granted it won't be as healthy as avocado, but being on a budget... can you dehydrate bananas, apples, and sweet potatoes in this?
merci pour l'astuce! mes frites ont une bien meilleur allure et sont délicieuse. avant je faisait 20mn a 200 C° c'était brulé pour certaines frits crues pour d'autres.
Hi I've recently subscribed to ur channel i live in the UK I'm loving how easy ur recipes are 🙂. Ive managed to get hold of ur recipe book on amazon i did try looking for ur cheat sheet chart but noticed urs was not compatible for UK and postage was too expensive so in the end had one off amazon. You've really inspired me to try different foods already cooked salmon in ninja and family loved it will carry on watching ur videos glad i found you 🙂
Hello! We have a Celcius version in the works and it will be sold on Amazon UK. For now though, we do have the Celcius version in a downloadable format right here: pineandpepper.co/products/pdf-airfryercheatsheet
Living in the UK we use Celsius as does Europe and most of the rest of the world . I have no clue what 340 Fahrenheit is . love your recopies get confused over the heat values
There's not an oil sprayer like the one used here that sprays that way here in the UK. Have bought the one suggested on amazon and no it still squirts.
I'm totally going to try your way to make from-scratch French fries, because I have a daughter who loves them. Well, OK, who doesn't love French fries, right? But she's practically obsessed with them. I tried making them using the information in the recipe book that came with my Gourmia air fryer, and the results were, to be polite, unimpressive. I'd much rather buy fresh potatoes than bags of frozen French fries, though, so I'm game to try it again with your pro tips. As to what we like to put on them, I prefer them with nothing at all other than maybe a dip in the gravy on my plate, if there is any. My wife prefers them with a sprinkle of salt. Our daughter likes a few French fries with her salt...🥵 UPDATE: I made air fryer French fries your way, and they were a hit! Picky Eater Daughter wants me to omit the garlic powder next time, but I have no more need for frozen French fries. I've been wanting to know how to do this ever since I bought my first air fryer. Thank you so much!
Okay, now I know why my AF fries weren't crispy. I cut, rinsed and soaked in hot water. But I added oil and seasoning right away and didn't spray with more oil. I'll have to try this again.
I followed your recipe as best as I could but my fries turned out crispy on only the thinnest parts and kind of chewy on the rest. Any ideas why that would happen or what I did wrong?
For anyone complaining about how many steps it takes, go ahead and try it with just cutting them and sticking them right in the air fryer, they don’t cook correctly. It’s not like she created all these steps, they are essential to cooking the fries correctly in an air fryer. I’ve tried many times and they always don’t come out as crispy as they should so I’m going to try this method and I’ll report back.
Sorry, but consensus between all 4 people that tried this..."never again". If you're gonna have fries, then have fries. Or stick to frozen in an air fryer, just doesn't cut it with fresh potatoes. Good try though.
Too much work for me. I just use frozen steak fries with a spritz of avocado oil before, then another spritz when I shake them Just husband and me, so I use half a bag. Crispy fries with no effort. 👍
You make light of the use of oil, but then you oil the hell out of those fries multiple times.....it's not air frying then, might as well get the skillet out.
Bought my first AF a couple of weeks ago ( used your link), and loving it. I’ve been learning to make different things with it and I’m grateful to have found your channel.

French Fries 🍟 and mayonnaise!
I like to boil my fries just a bit then place them in the refrigerator which dries them out before I airfryer them. Nice and golden crunchy fries.
That's also the way chips are made in England
@@sk5054 I learned it from my friend in Devon when I first visited England. Can’t do it any other way now.
How long do you put them in the fridge for?
@@katrinastockley13 just until they are cool and appear dry. Maybe 15-20 minutes later out on the cookie sheet.
you should make a video it would be better than this
Bought a new Airfryer last week and have been watching your video for tips on how to use it🎉🎉🎉
Awesome! What have you made in it so far?
@@empoweredcooks I have made fries and muffins so far
Looks yummy!!!! My go to sauce for fries is ketchup and mayo! Thank you Kathy and, of course, your awesome taste testers!

I'm from the UK, you have convinced me, I'll be getting an air fryer. Thank you Cathy X
You're welcome! :) And welcome to the party! :)
You will love it!😍
You are so delightful and I really find your videos so informative!

@PicklJarStori456 fighting for some French Fries 🍟 😅

I really like Thousand Island dressing. Also if eating with steak, I like to put herbed butter on them.
Thanks!!! hugs from México :)

Do you by any chance have a glass-bottle oil sprayer to recommend? I do like the recipe. Thank you.
Those look amazing!!!
Great video! May I ask, does anyone know where to buy the oil sprayer from. Thank you in advance.

Happy birthday!!
Have you tried the chefman dual air fryer
Love the videos but being in the UK we cook with degrees centigrade and not Fahrenheit so is you could break this down for us that would be awesome
Was trying to figure out how her air fryer went so high!! xD
Living in the UK we use Celsius as does Europe and most of the rest of the world . I have no clue what 340 Fahrenheit is . love your recopies get confused over the heat values
As an American the feeling is mutual.
Just google the conversion to Celsius. I do it all the time to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit
Have you used these same steps for sweet potato fries ? I am curious.
Your kids are great 💕
Thank you 😊

Yay!! I'm so happy to hear this!! Definitely a win for you - way to go!
Hello. So I’m assuming they chose the ones she took all the steps for??? I can’t read the labels on the baskets
Thanks a lot!!!! 👏🏼
Okay, now I know why my AF fries weren't crispy. I cut, rinsed and soaked in hot water. But I added oil and seasoning right away and didn't spray with more oil.
I'll have to try this again.
I have to admit, the fry sauce has changed my life.
Yessss! :)
I followed your recipe as best as I could but my fries turned out crispy on only the thinnest parts and kind of chewy on the rest. Any ideas why that would happen or what I did wrong?
Bummer to hear that! It could be your air fryer? I would just give it more time to help them crisp up more.
320 5 min
350 8 min
350 5-10min
Season
400 5-15min
400 5min
She got the ED sauce from good burger!!!
That's a lot of work for 10 fries. The amount of power vs purchasing frozen fries is most likely the same.
Add some corn starch after boiling but before air frying
Did you season both batches of fries? That would make a huge difference in taste.
Good Q. I did salt the 2nd batch.
On Instagram I saw someone making pancakes (separated by parchment paper) in the AF. Have you tried making pancakes?
I don’t care what anyone says it’s worth all the work. I did it just like she said and they came out perfect!! Not soggy at all!!
How about fish n CHIPS ! I miss having real chips. So good !
How come the sound on your videos only comes out on the left speaker?
Who dips their fries in vanilla ice cream lol😂😂
👇
I like to dip in BBQ sauce. Or BBQ sauce and ketchup mixed.
French fries and vanilla milk shake dip

I have skinless Frozen Chicken Thighs would that work?
Avocado Oil is Healthy!! 🤪
Just tell me the fifth times in the temperature I don’t need a seven minute video
Garlic aioli for me!
thank you sis
cheese I tried this and added some cheese. AWESOME.
Sheesh... looks like I'm just gonna head to Wendy's 🤷🏿♂️
Sorry, but consensus between all 4 people that tried this..."never again". If you're gonna have fries, then have fries. Or stick to frozen in an air fryer, just doesn't cut it with fresh potatoes. Good try though.
You adjusting that chip in the bowl in front of your son, seems to me to be your tip to them that it’s the one to pick
you want healthy chips just fry in lard in 15 minutes you will have amazing chips
Too much work for me. I just use frozen steak fries with a spritz of avocado oil before, then another spritz when I shake them Just husband and me, so I use half a bag.
Crispy fries with no effort. 👍
Chili with French fry’s 😈
Seems quite cumbersome and a long time for some fries. In oil it just takes 6 minutes, no stirring, recoating and whatnot.
Bit to much of messing about
these are too big i can taste the potatoes ??? really ???
These are a lot of steps. 🤨
I will Ice bath and pat dry. Keep it simple
Thank goodness for fast forward....25mins of fluff
MIALY BYĆ BEZTŁUSZCZOWE
Too much for fries. i dont do all this and i always get them right. we totally complicate simple things for nothing
Mine was hard and VERY DRY
OMG wouldn't it be faster to go out and buy french fries at a fast food store?!?!?!?!
You make light of the use of oil, but then you oil the hell out of those fries multiple times.....it's not air frying then, might as well get the skillet out.
Too much work for french fries
That’s too much!
I have a air frier and it's going back to the store ,what a f*** scam
I love mine (i have hers) its such a good product. Not a scam at all.
Too many steps
Good Grief! Long drawn out process!! 👎
😂😂😂
Blablabla blablablabla blablabla 😢
Very l9ng and messy
omg is this ai german voice over based on your voice? it freaks me out. i just stick to the original voice
