Rich men spend like poor men, and poor men spend like rich men
@@user-sf5sv2hk8v today's society... 😂
But that is keeping the capitalism running. Imagine if poor people really stop spending?
This is monstrously false. No rich man spends his money like a poor person. This is just something you made up.
Rich man invests his money, poor man spends his money.
Unfortunately the poor just like me has nothing at all to spend. Go China
The portrayal of wealthy Chinese individuals mirrors the fishbowl phenomenon. Essentially, Chinese people are experiencing a phase of wealth stabilization and self-awareness similar to what Westerners have already gone through. In time, they'll become just as concerned about organic food and plastic cups as yoga moms were in the West a decade ago.

Has anyone seen the news lately that Dior sells a luxury bag at $2800 for which it pays the supplier $57? 😂
That's all luxury purses.
Luxury is all about brand name . Same with British burberry.
Real luxury is not having any of these 😂
The way you deliver your narration in both English and Mandarin with ease deserves 2 thumbs up 👍 👍
can only say ur standard very low
It’s easy in Singapore.
Agreed, very well written and delivered
Fair enough, she communicates effectively, though she speaks both languages with a heavy accent.
@@hermesliteratus882 what accent? Lol.
There used to be a time when if you wore a tee shirt provided by a brand for free, you would be considered a walking billboard. Worst is when you pay so much to be their advertisers. Glad people are slowly waking up to their senses.😊
I grew up thinking that those logo shirts are free from the store😂😂😂. My mom bought me a fake Gucci shirt when i was young and I refuse to wear it thinking that its a free from the store. 😅😅
because the government told them to tone down the flaunting on the media, for general public's morale
That and a lot of the "luxury" brands that slap their logo on all their merch have damaged their reputation and no longer signal luxury like they are supposed to. The other day I saw a homeless woman (admittedly she was at a homeless shelter not living on the street) with a Luis Vuitton bag. I see my co-workers who I know aren't secretly wealthy because they wouldn't be working a low paying relatively dead end job with supposedly luxury bags too. In order to differentiate themselves from the mass-market "luxury" brands the ones still trying to maintain their reputation and exclusivity are dropping their labels.
Nope nothing to do with government
They just came to the realisation that all these Western ''luxury'' brands are just superficial and invest their money elsewhere.
I get buying for quality and durability. Never understood the need to impress others. People who treat you differently because of what you have on are not worthy of your judgment, imo.
I concur mister tad.
Have they ever tried no luxury if they are gonna pretend to be humble?
That's what I do.
Hahaha that’s not how it works. They still want to show off their worth. The vibe kinda like hey I’m rich but I don’t wanna show that I’m rich. But I am. But I am not actively trying to show it off. But. I am lmao
they loud we complain, quiet also complain. can you stop kpkb?
The luxury is more than just the name , it also means higher quality materials(and more fabric)...cashmere is gonna feel much nicer than unprocessed wool that scratches your skin. The future is gonna be opposite of skimpy clothing because fabric will be very expensive so the more fabric on your body: the richer you are.
We the commoners will be wearing bikinis then.
This a trend for all rich people around the world. High quality clothing is important, ostentatious luxury is outdated.
They don't wear labels but they're still from same labels . Just not written on it so they can hide it.
Yeah, it's just cringe
Because everyone is tired to see word BALENCIAGA and BAPE on everyones clothes
BAPE is not even luxury 😭

You just watch for them spitting
the squatting style
Money cannot buy class
That’s why the Chinese has a saying, heritage will not last past 3 generations.
Yes, I felt that when I was in China recent times, people more look for the quality of textile, comfort and tech of cloth, something as simple as no edge underwear ( the edge and label all gone because the extra skin rub discomfort from them)
china should impose 100% tariff to these luxury brand from EU and US in retaliation to them.
Absolutely!
There’s no local luxury substitute, unfortunately. Unless they’ve okay switching underwear from Calvin Klein to Cvlain Klnrei. 🌚💀🤡
@@ondreiii no need to have substitute chinese can live without luxury brand. china accounted for 30% of the world market for luxury brand. its a loss for them not china.
Not 100% 500% increase that reasonable.
US?
Soon Chinese parents will look at their children at dinner time and say :
"If you don't study hard, you will only be able to drive a Mercedes-Benz and a BMW in the future."
😁
😂😂 Awesome
BMW and Mercedes aint luxury brands in China anymore. Every Chinese knows those German cars are so tech outdated than any Chinese EV. Buying Mercedes and Benz is kind for stupid people with too much money that they dont know what to do with it. Rich people dont drive, thats why Huawei Aito M9 is specially designed for those people who sit back with a movie on big screen
In fact, minimally desirable women in Shanghai have been known to skip BMW drivers for being poor. Porsche is the passing grade. If you don't own a Porsche or Bentley/Aston/Ferrari/Lambo/Rolls, you aren't even qualified for a date with these women who are above 6.
I have a secret to tell you, a BMW and a Honda feel very much the same when you're driving it.

@@NeidlichesSchwert Speaking of education, I wonder if your students can beat Chinese students in international math or physics competitions. The valuation of material items are so crazy.
I always mix and match. I'll wear a Louis Vuitton sweater $4000 with pair of jeans from Levis that was purchased on sale $29.99. I bought my first and only Rolex watch when I was 24....now 57, I still wear the same watch. And I have never bought any other watch, not even an Apple watch. I like designer clothes but also shop discounted items too.
Personally , if you are well off thro own effort; no reason to portrait / show off your wealth. LV is for those who dont have but need to show off.

China with the population of 1.5 billion has 969 billionaires is not more than US which only have 350 million people yet 691 billionaires. If you switch over to percentage.

It’s call being modest and reshaping the culture of money.
most singaporean billionaire and millionaire do this, unless you know the quality of the garment they use, you will not know what they wear can cost $70,000 usd just for a single shirt, or a leather shoes that they wear casually was specifically custom made in england because human left and right feet are not exactly the same, which can cost around $250,000 usd per pair.

Oh, Otelli can speak Mandarin? She says those 3 Chinese terms in proper pronunciation.
She actually came from a SAP school.
Which probably explains why the top 1% is now giving up "quiet luxury" for "no luxury at all"
And why are they doing that?
Hahahaha... It's not just the Chinese who are trending that way. It should be made a norm rather than a trend. Loud luxury is more than ugly. It is downright socially disruptive.
Imagine paying 20x for boring pieces you can buy literally everywhere else.

Finally, comfortable with their $.
Because they have luxury properties costing tens, if not hundreds of millions, in the worlds top destinations. They own custom leather shoes and bags in limited edition from the world’s top brands. They own items in exotic skin.
They have super cars, haute couture clothing, luxury fine jewellery from the world’s top jewellers and they have global influence due to their pedigree. They know who’s who in every top city. They’ve worn logos when they were young. They own plenty of logos.
They eat at Michelin star restaurants. They have dreamy weddings. They have private jets and yachts. They have friends who have the same or much more. Everyone always knows how crazy wealthy they are. It’s been established for decades. Its obvious.
They could wear plain white for £5000 and they’d still nail it. No one would suspect that their plain white outfit for £5000 is cheap because it won’t be. They couldn’t do it when it hadn’t been established how well off they are. This only applies to a certain segment of society. 99% of people can’t get away with this.

Lol always coming up with new trends will take a long time to replace. 😅
Then when everyone bandwagons onto to trying to look quiet luxury, market sales go up due to new trends. Then many years later loud luxury pieces will come back, and everyone will be like "ouu it's so bold and daring", then repeat the trend cycle and spike sales again
And all from Europe...

It’s still conspicuous consumption
The interviews completely got sidetracked from the original point of topic. Not only were the wrong people interviewed, no further discussions about the quiet luxury trend were ever asked. Very bad and confusing journalism.
But it's always seen Chinese copy Korean fashions
HEY *gtdupe* I have been watching you for years and im so proud of where you have made it! I love you so much! Also thanks for making my day
The talk about quiet luxury and art/luxury collectibles are totally 2 different concepts. I do not mix these 2 together. The motivation to obtain these are not the same. If I spend money on quiet luxury items, I treat it as sunk cost.
Asians seem more clueless about this distinction than westerners in my experience, especially the Chinese.
Quiet luxury is an exaggerated 'trend' anyway.
Have money to buy?😂
for those tycoons no place to spent then spend at luxury item, they treat $10000 as $10 for own self, but treat for others $10 like $10000.. lol
because you don't want the government to take an interest in you.
and they paid for this... ironic.
Then eventually no one will wear brands because everyone will want people to think that they’re all into quiet luxury and the rich will start being flashy again ad infinitum 😂 It’s like how British upper class stopped using spices when it became cheap but hoarded it when it was rare and expensive. People are such silly beans.
Corrupt monies must of course be kept out of tge radar.
Don't spend on Luxury item because you only give more money for only a small quality
Talking nothing about quiet luxury at all!
Sounds disgusting.
Billion dollar insight. People buy luxury that they can wear to feel good when showing off. It’s hard to tell the difference between real and fakes unless with specialist equipment or trained professional eyes. Pivotal. How do you wear land or property deed titles or tell others you own this land or that property so they know at a glance that you are ultra rich and not pretend rich?
Thank you for taking time to do the comparison. the quality of the channel *gtdupe* is better, I bought it here, and you can ask them to take a photo for confirmation before shipping.
Defeats the purpose in the story narration of a quiet luxury story. 😅
Common prosperity ...but most billionaires in the world and rank 72 in the world for GDP per capital
After I bought a $10 million luxury item and I want to resell the same undamaged “second hand” item the next day, people only buy it for less than $5 million dollars, don’t I make a loss of $5 million+? Luxury cars and luxury retail items are known since ancient times not to give birth to future new or more money.
Everyone knows, real rich people look broke and stay humble, and those trying to flex are trying to compensate for something… just saying
Nothing we can do about fakes…I could care less how many people have the same bag as myself…that makes it really spoken for.. I hate when people say they don’t want a certain purse because everyone has it….well everyone has a hole are we gonna get rid of ours because of that? Everyone one does something different with their niceshopx for example their style, your style will set you apart.
