Why are there so many people commenting his English? How good the person is as a manager is more than his command of English, isn't it? He could be a great leader- empathetic, consultative, analytic, having amazing work ethic etc. Some people are just jealous of what this fellow is doing.
Dunno why the comments section so harsh on this guy. His expertise is in food, marketing, consumer preferences etc. Not politician or businessman or salesman. Calm your tits down jokers, and cut him some slack. Fine he cocked up the pronunciation of Ikea but overall he did a pretty decent run-thru here.
maybe in Spore, they read the brand as such …. 😂😂 or his boss too. HAHAHA. Imagine now the entire Ikea Spore need to relearn how to pronounce it properly!!😂😂😂
I'm Swedish and this does look really good! Do have to say though that the Falukorv is quite a bit off. While Falukorv does come in rings like seen in the video, the real Falukorv is a lot thicker with a diameter of some 5-7cm range and it's usually served sliced and the slices are pan fried, alternatively the whole Falukorv is cooked in the oven after making some partial slices into it and stuffing the gaps with cheese and sometimes it's covered with mustard as well. Another way to serve it is by making Korv stroganoff where the Falukorv is sliced and then the slices are cut into smaller pieces (think short fries almost) and cooked in a rich, creamy sauce that is flavored with ketchup and has onion in it. Korv stroganoff is ideally served with rice (usually long grain, not the very fragant kinds like jasmin or basmati) or mashed potatoes. Just pan fried slices of Falukorv goes well with creamy potatoes seasoned with parsley (basically small pieces of potatoes in a white sauce), some types of pasta, mashed potatoes or with fried eggs and fried chunks of leftover potatoes (the latter combination makes a good breakfast as well, but can be eaten anytime of the day)
Well he is asking a presumably Singaporean to try if it is traditional enough 😅 so... probably she was not swedish enough to notice as you have valuably fed back.
I personally love eating at the food court whenever I go to IKEA in the USA, it looks like I have to add this to my list of things to do when I visit Singapore in the future! I like how serious the manager is about the elements of the food (visuals, texture, smell, taste, etc.), you can tell he's very passionate about his job.
I really liked this interview. The interviewer said just enough to get the manager to tell us all about Ikea's food and not try to be the expert herself, which she might as have well been.
😊🙏 Noticing the many older , more experienced & dutiful kitchen crew in this IKEA eatery , no wonder IKEA foods are always well prepared & served! 🙏 Thank You So Much IKEA for giving customers your good services & foods over the decades & to CNA for the sneak peek into IKEA's kitchen! 🌷🌿🌏💜🕊🇸🇪
IKEA's approach to blending tradition with efficiency in their food service, particularly with the hand-rolled meatballs, shows their commitment to quality and authenticity. It’s impressive how they tailor their menu to local tastes while maintaining a fast and efficient self-serve system. 🍽
I love his insight that the food should look like the picture. I like the meatballs and my sister bought 1 kg of it. I would cook it in tomato sauce or eat it with jam and gravy. The mushroom soup is an acquired taste.
Congratulations. The key idea is to stay foreign couple with local food relevant to the local expectations, remain affordable and continuously bring in new menu. The turnout at Ikea have been quite consistent and profitable. Benefiting both parties. Well done.
Can ikea pls take note of the temperature of yr food as the aircon temperature is usually very cooling and by the time my food reach the table,it will be only lukewarm.Have feedback to ikea before but no improvement to the food temperature as it is still warm and not hot with smoke.
Nowadays, many eateries don’t prepare food from scratch, they use food that are actually pre-cooked in their central kitchens or suppliers. These vacuum sealer plastic bags ( sous vide style) are use to keep them frozen and then supplied to all restaurants and eateries. Many F&B outlets use this method to thaw and defrost these prepared bags of sauces and food using hot water. They claim they are using food grade plastic sous vide style so it’s safe to eat. I saw with my own eyes some eateries even steam the whole packet of Siew Mai and prawn dumplings still intact in their plastic packaging. 🙄 I have reservations about eating food prepared this way and surely boycott them.
Sadly, the taste of their köttbullar (meatballs) isn't as good as when I first tried in 2007 at the Tampines outlet. I have eaten a few times during the period in between then and now, and the balls seem to have gotten bland and plain as time went on, sometimes gamey.
Its Ee-Kay-Uh.... And OMG... Even its own IKEA Manager pronounced it the US way instead of how its called/pronounced from its country of origin... Speechless.....

Ikea needs to serve pork sausage. Last time they had and suddenly disappeared and replace by chicken, nothing like pork sausage as European food and its traditional
how about the 'green princess cake' maybe that's got to get permission/partnership with Miss Maud's but that was a sweet childhood memory now in my 30's? It's amazing how a mini meatball can almost take over buying furniture worldwide...I came for the furniture and left reminiscencing some meatballs.
I've enjoyed food from IKEA for many years! My only gripe is , the servers at JEM. Always grumpy and rude. Doesn't matter if it's peak or off peak timings. Recommend to go other outlets except JEM
Yes, I just commented: Please learn the proper pronunciation of “Ikea” before making the video. It’s “ee-keh-uh”. That’s the common way most Singaporeans say it anyway & it’s the correct Swedish pronunciation. You’re introducing a Swedish brand, obviously you need to pronounce it the Swedish way. Who says “Eye-keh-uh” 🙄🙄. Yes, the British say it but that’s not correct Swedish pronunciation. “Eye-kay-uh” sounds so wannabe and grating.
Really love the variety of dishes available but just hope for the veggie sides to be cooked more thoroughly or just change out the water more often, every time it tastes so much like there are chemical residues... Maybe not everyone cares but I really don't like wasting food!

The food quality at IKEA cafe is terrible now. I cannot understand the continued popularity. Coffee is just plain bad, shame to call it coffee. The salmon is less than half the size it used to be. Everything tastes artificial and highly processed. A shadow of what it used to be.
Tried IKEA meatballs. IMO it sucks. Just like western food in general. For someone who are accustomed to herbs and spices, the meatballs are very bland. Meatball themselves tasted fine but put everything together, they're pretty lackluster. They have something, a dollop of raspberry sauce(?) added which is akin to acar buah which is fine if you think of it that way but the gravy itself is already sweet so it became sickly sweet. Maybe iuf you're younger and/or dont care too much about sugar/diabetes then its fine. The karipap / curry puff on the other hand is great. Big portion, definitely worth the money (if you buy in set).

matching the food to the picture - this is what I like best from the Food Manager
and if you work in the food industry...you know that's a lie LOL
Hats off to all those old grannies making Swedish meatballs for IKEA restaurants 🫡
you think grandmas are making meatballs for IKEA? LOL.
they are requesting factories to make the balls uneven to have that ‘traditional’ look.

Is it bad to eat food cooked/ heat up in plastic? Eg sauces in plastic
Yes
Depends, microwave plastic pots are ok to use

Still not recommended. Plastic and heat don’t mix well. You never know what chemicals will be leached into the food.
