That woman pouring hot water directly on the scalp is wicked. Never ever ever do African hairstylists let the hot water near the scalp. You're only supposed to dip the ends of the braids in hot water. She didn't even stop when she heard the screaming. What a sadistic and cruel woman😡😡😡
Many people in the comments were saying this is sadistic as well. Someone else in the community pointed out she even pulled one of the girl's head back to continue.
Ok thank you cause i was so confused watchin it. Like yeah you're only supposed to dip the ends lol. @DrSimpleBeauty I think she was doing it on purpose because apparently some people had been commenting about her use of hot water before in previous videos. $530-$600 is definitely a lot for braids, I’m not gonna lie. It never used to be this bad. Still seems ridiculously overpriced to me even with all the other services.
Mmm..my hairstylist charges $75 for a silk press, which takes about an hour. So if she did knotless braids & it took her 4-6 hours, that would be $300-$450. Seems reasonable to me. Unless braids take less time to complete l.

Besides my two trims a year, I completely stopped going to get my hair done. In my area in NJ, braids can easily go for $120-500 depending on the length and size. The average is about $250-400. I can’t justify paying that amount to for a style I only leave in for 4 weeks. That’s literally another bill payment every month. It never made any sense to me.

Oh no - what we're not going to do is normalising torturing people! My heart was aching for the girl in that chair! 😰Her scalp is now burned and so is her actual hair!
That money is way too much. I didn't come to the salon to eat, I came to make my hair. She called it premium package 😂😂 that woman has money to waste. As for the hot water video, that is my first time seeing something like that. That woman should be ban from making anyone's hair.😠

Hello Mya I don’t like the first braids too much spaces in between the braids. That price was too much. The second one was too much heat. That is crazy why is she burning their scalp with that hot water. The third one I think she didn’t want to do the young lady’s hair because it was so thick. Some of these people are very unprofessional. Thanks for sharing.💜🌹
So sad. I can’t imagine saying it’s ok to give me burns of any degree or blisters to finish off a style. That’s a risk I wouldn’t take. I wouldn’t let just anyone perm my hair when I wasn’t natural for that very reason. Now I say let me check your beliefs before you touch my head. Need to know your intentions towards my body. Hairdresser, nurse, doctor. Period.
Around me braids are usually 170-250 for medium box braids not including tip. I used to get my hair braided but I stopped after the unprofessionalism and lack of licenses. It’s fine if it’s luxury prices but I won’t partake in you skipping taxes if I’m asked to pay through cashapp instead of paying through official sites like styleseat. It’s crazy to me that you’re supposed to come with your hair washed. My hair is in locs now and my life is so much more stress free now that I don’t have to deal with hair stylists
Video 1: I’m not paying $600 for nothing but my mortgage. Ain’t no way. Video 2: She pressed the heck out of that hair no no no 😢 Video 3: why? Just why? Video 4: nah Dis you pay her?
😱 that hot water did not need to be poured on her scalp. And the way the other people were looking it didn't seem like that was normal procedure. I hope her hair is still in tact.
I don't understand grown women letting other people pour boiling hot water on their heads From what I've heard, most beauty schools don't teach the business and customer service side of cosmetology at all unfortunately.
OMG!!!!!!! the hot waaaateeeeer! Im so mad about this!!!! Im a nurse by profession and this is an absolute no no! this could have caused 2nd 3rd degree burns. this is NEVER ok.
Pardon me for this comment... But how SILLY must a person be to continuously LET someone pour scalding hot water on their head??? Lady I'm gonna BOP you! There's gonna be a fight in this establishment, because what are you doing???
My thing is why would those women continue to sit there and take boiling hot water being poured on their scalp. That is ridiculous! That woman needs to go to jail! Obviously she's doing that to them on purpose.
This is why I get my braids done before I go back to the US. I live in Bogota' and my $75.00 service includes wash, conditioning, avocado mask, blow dry, snacks and hair included. Oh throats for knotless braids, cornrows are $30USD. SMH
Omg these prices. I always knew a braider and never paid more than $75 for braids and these were the days of the microbraids!. When I was permed a wash condition trim and silk press was $85 in 2009. It's so crazy 2 me.
Yes! I remember when microbraids went up to $150 and that was a lot. We could still find the right braider that was good and still had good prices because they were at home.
That was absolutely criminal to scald someones scalp. They would never treat people who don't look like them like this. I am so thankful I'm not trapped into getting braids, weaves, sew ins or wigs.
Oh my gosh I’m loving the color of this hair wrap! Honestly it depends on the type of braiding style you want, the length, the size of the braids as well as how much the stylist is in demand. Also if it includes other services. BUT all that aside I would say yes $150-$300. As I child my mom would do my sisters and I’s hair. Then when we got older we started doing our own heads it wasn’t until we were able to pay for own salon visits that we started going BUT back then like you said those services was actually included in the $40-$60 press and curl. That last video was just pure evil. You don’t pour boiling out water on anybody’s scalp! And she did it MULTIPLE times even when the girl was screaming. My goodness 🤦🏾♀️ unbelievable
That price is normal for New York. People need to be paid for their time. The minimum wage in NY will soon be $20. Retail space is expensive here as well. If I can't afford the braider, I wouldn't go to the salon. However, if I go to the salon, I will respect their labor and pay what they ask, knowing that they have i overhead expenses.
I remember a friend always wanting to braid my crown before school. She was always trying to practice but everyone else had a sensitive scalp and I loved having my hair played with!
Coming from a braider and liscensed cosmetologist in the U.S and U.S Virgin Islands 🇻🇮 I am absolutely horrified and disgusted and that poor woman should have stood up out the chair and walked out. Because wtf 🤬 I can’t ever imagine treating my most difficult and disruptive client this way. I would never even dream of it. wtf is her problem really?! 😢so disturbing
In NYC, the one person I trust in my head charged $250 for small, knotless box braids. $530 is expensive for basic services. A wash, condition, and blow-dry should be basic services.
All stylists/salons. They are out of control I don't go. Asking folks to come washed (and no adjustment in price), telling folks we start at .... what is the price sis? Also, upload a picture of this that and the other. Naw, I don't do SM and don't want to upload my pictures. I didn't ask for wine and snacks etc. If you offer extra and I can say no thank you. All good but being forced. No thank you. Go back to service. What is the customer wanting and participating in and not forcing them and then charging
I come from the era when the stylist/licensed cosmetologist did the entire service. The salon had a television, no privates rooms, maybe music and you brought your own snacks and your mother would step out and buy you food if you were hungry. I tried that on my stylist once ( coming washed and blow dried) and she told me "No, baby I have to do the full service." lol.
The prices are a bit ridiculous in my opinion. Washing, blowdrying and trim should not be anything over $100. Human hair you can buy at the beauty supply for less than $100 as well. The service itself, you paying the stylist to stand on their feet for hours should be up to the stylist but anything over $200 is a bit much. The whole thing really shouldn’t exceed $300. Now the lady burning the young lady’s scalp should be charged. Wtf is she doing…
I am 68 years old, and I have only been to the salon maybe three or four times in my entire life and my cousin ONLY did my hair. I never allowed anyone else outside of my mother and grandmother. I braid, press, relax and now loc, MYSELF!
Are there not salons with management hierarchies anymore, or do they just have less problems so all we see are the independent contractors that don't answer to anyone?
KK, I had a similar occurence(+ (braider left--+called in another ) her braids were so differentl) I complained, refused the work. 2nd braider work was removed when the owner returned. As customers, WE MUST speak out
Braiding is very time-consuming & can easily take 6 to 8 hours for those 30" butt-length braids - & the client oftentimes has long hair, as we saw in this reaction video. So if braiders charged for their time, $50 - $75 per hour, the price could easily be $300 - $600. In most service based industries, the fee is more about time than skill because most people can do what they are paying for. They just don't feel like doing it *this time* which is why they're paying someone else to do it.
Mya, these situations remind us we have to be mindful speaking up when we are paying for a service, especially one so personal as our hair. The $600 is entirely too much and ITA she has some issues which may should have been considered before having this service. The flat iron was too HOT!!! The scalding water almost made me cry. I could feel the pain in her voice. The woman in Dallas...that's awful. I'm sure her Stylist knew her cycle was coming and should have blocked those days. She should have cancelled the appointment.
#1: The price was entirely too much much to be seeing so much scalp. Also, a wash and blow dry should be included in that fee. #2: I'm concerned about the amount of heat/passes of the flatiron. You can't convince me that it doesn't smell like singed hair in that shop. 3. If really done in the USA, that action would be considered criminal assault. 4. I would have told the braider to cancel the appointment at the point of rescheduling my appointment without discussion. I also would dispute any charges that were incurred from said stylist. The common theme of these videos is how unprofessional each of the stylists/business owners were. The overall lack of care for their clients and craft is disgusting.
$600 is actually a good price for the length and styling. Girls are charging almost that foe much shorter lengths, u have to pre-wash, and synthetic hair
I am not a profesdional braider, butI undetstand high pricing because brading is a long tedious process. You're on your feet for hours at a time and most styles take 6 to 10 hours. And black women deserve to charge what they feel their service is worth...Everyone wants to be paid what they are worth. Wouldn't you??
These prices are to high, braiding hair is so common in Cameroon, you can ask your neighbour to help you out and everything is ok. As I'm based in the Netherlands now I will find an African or Caribbean braider in church, but not for €600,- I can pay 3 bills with that😅 And for that lady cooking her clients scalp, is she crazy?
Wait a minute 600 dollars for box braids WTF! The only braids I paid 200.00 for microbraids two decades ago. I paid 150. 00 for box braids before I am glad I found love within myself taught myself how to twist and plait my real hair. I will never
😅😅 I tell my stylist my discount kicks in at 2hrs for every extra hour. We've never gone past two hours The menses girl is trifling coz she said she could come back to it in "a few hours" 👀
The beauty industry is becoming more about business instead of customer service and satisfaction. Looking fabulous is more the norm than hair and scalp health especially for the younger generation. The beauty industry is about profit not about caring for the welfare of their customers for the most part particularly when it comes to the descendants of Ham. Beauty schools are lacking in teaching their students about the health of the hair and scalp. Added hair can also be toxic and produced at unsanitary environments and for sacrifice to their gods (1 Cor 10:20,21;2 Cor 4:4; Matt 4:8,9; Rev 12:9,12; 1 John 5:19) Just have to do your own due diligence in researching hair and scalp services and read mostly the customer reviews that are negative because positive reviews can be paid for. #1st premium service: her hair is clearly thinning. 😮 These braids are only going to exacerbate the situation.
I am just curious if her stylist mentioned it to her or suggested that she to monitor that section of hair.
Her thinning hair was the first thing I noticed. Agree that the braids won’t help.
The braids do look sparse, she could have parted the hair differently to give the illusion of fullness or changed the style.

Yes ad thank you. It is coming
She should press charges😢 this was intentionally harmful 💔
Oh no - what we're not going to do is normalising torturing people! My heart was aching for the girl in that chair! 😰Her scalp is now burned and so is her actual hair!
Exactly. It is never that serious for a freaking hairstyle. I hope her scalp recovers 🙏🏽
That money is way too much. I didn't come to the salon to eat, I came to make my hair. She called it premium package 😂😂 that woman has money to waste.
As for the hot water video, that is my first time seeing something like that. That woman should be ban from making anyone's hair.😠
Why would your pour steaming hot water on somebody’s scalp? That’s evil AF, that poor girl will end up with burns on her scalp and neck.
9:21 that lady should be going to jail
I would be in jail 😠😠😠
Yes I was terrified. She needs to be sued.👮♀️
IF THIS IS REAL ... Why is the "African" stylist scolding her client? It seems that she knows exactly what she's doing, as if it's a personal attack on her client. 😮😢
Many people were saying this.
Those women look like they are in pain.
In Africa hairstyles doesn't do that the girl should have sue for abuse, maybe she wants to go viral for foolishness 😡
👑@@rfinna8029 ... W😥W❗ IF that is the real motive, it is equally sickening to cause another person harm for clicks, likes or viral commentary. It's even more distressful to witness the client psychologically conditioned to remain in the stylist chair during her assault. 😥🥺😠
👑@@KlassicallyKept ... Sadly, these women were being tortured in the name of some disgusting and delusional standard of "Beauty"❗ Thank you for a commentary filled with wisdom and compassion. 💙
👑@@rfinna8029 ... I AM sure scolding a client isn't normal nor standard business practices. But, for the client to endure and accept the torture is equally grossly insane❗😥🙏
Of course and thank you.
The flat iron situation and the scalding hot water threw me.
Not all cycles are trackable.
As a customer, I still would've been mad.
I'm iffy on this because even with a really sporadic cycle there is some physical warning that happens ahead of time, so idk...
Video 2: She pressed the heck out of that hair no no no 😢
Video 3: why? Just why?
Video 4: nah Dis you pay her?
Hi, how did you wrap that beautiful scarf ❤
Hello!
link: th-cam.com/users/shortsvW903NPnTrk
Thank you
I’m all set. I can do my own hair thank you. 👩🏾💻‼️
That can't be real, no Fning way, no way. That girl would have needed immediate attention ... I don't believe the clip.
😱 that hot water did not need to be poured on her scalp. And the way the other people were looking it didn't seem like that was normal procedure. I hope her hair is still in tact.
I don't understand grown women letting other people pour boiling hot water on their heads
From what I've heard, most beauty schools don't teach the business and customer service side of cosmetology at all unfortunately.
OMG!!!!!!! the hot waaaateeeeer!
Yeah, I only feel so sorry for them no one is pointing a gun at you or holding you in the chair. Just walk away.
That’s why I’m thinking about micro locs. No longer have to worry about tangling up my hair on daily/weekly basis.
SMH
It sounds good in theory to plan around your cycle but everyone isnt regular. What do those people do?
Omg these prices. I always knew a braider and never paid more than $75 for braids and these were the days of the microbraids!. When I was permed a wash condition trim and silk press was $85 in 2009. It's so crazy 2 me.
Yesss that’s what I’m saying. Back in the microbraiding days where I was living, for a good length it was only $180
I’m too old to be getting my hair done by somebody who’s not licensed. I need the full in salon experience by a reasonably priced professional.
That first woman had very thin hair density. Don't know if heavy braids were a good idea.
It's normal however their loosing money because it's just not worth it. I would never and never will
Still trying to wonder with all the free things the first woman got why the total amount came to what it did?
She burn that young lady scalp and skin. Those other women just sat there😮. 😢 please God let her not to do this to anyone else again. 🙏
Why is she pouring boiling hot water on these girls scalps … that’s f*cking INSAAAAANE OMG !!!
😡 Ain’t no way 9:59
You know! I think that was on purpose
I remember a friend always wanting to braid my crown before school. She was always trying to practice but everyone else had a sensitive scalp and I loved having my hair played with!
Did she say 600 !!!!
She did, but at the end I believe the young woman paid her $530.
I almost broke my neck running here. I love your videos!❤
@@Chilotamm lol thank you
I had to stop watching when I saw the stylist REPEATEDLY pour scalding hot water on the client's scalp. What?!
Your skin is gorgeous what’s the routine my love
Coming from a braider and liscensed cosmetologist in the U.S and U.S Virgin Islands 🇻🇮 I am absolutely horrified and disgusted and that poor woman should have stood up out the chair and walked out. Because wtf 🤬 I can’t ever imagine treating my most difficult and disruptive client this way. I would never even dream of it. wtf is her problem really?! 😢so disturbing
😮 the boiling water oh no!!!!
In NYC, the one person I trust in my head charged $250 for small, knotless box braids. $530 is expensive for basic services. A wash, condition, and blow-dry should be basic services.
That first one, ma’am her hair is thinning out soo much. 😮
That hot water can't be good for your scalp.
I don’t understand. Why she needs to pour boiling water on client’s scalp? It looks like torture.
Supposedly hot water smooths and sets the braids, but she was pouring it on the scalp repeatedly. Definitely torture.
She really poured boiling water on that girl head like that and the girl actually allowed her to continue doing so…
I am 68 years old, and I have only been to the salon maybe three or four times in my entire life and my cousin ONLY did my hair. I never allowed anyone else outside of my mother and grandmother. I braid, press, relax and now loc, MYSELF!
Are there not salons with management hierarchies anymore, or do they just have less problems so all we see are the independent contractors that don't answer to anyone?
The lady pouring the scalding, steaming water onto the scalp of her screaming, crying client was horrifying.
Is she pouring boiling water on her scalp. I had to fast forward
KK, I had a similar occurence(+ (braider left--+called in another ) her braids were so differentl) I complained, refused the work. 2nd braider work was removed when the owner returned. As customers, WE MUST speak out
Why would you pay someone to burn your scalp?
Hot water to the scalp is pure evil. She kept going over the same spot. Evil.
Chicago $150 - $350 depending on braid size / length.
The hot water was very disturbing to watch. Whyy whyyy whyyyyyyy
😱 OMG I'm disgusted and stupefied by this unprofessional behavior 😳
Loving the eyelet blouse!
thank you
With the first one and with the services $80 would have been fine!
why is Gods world would they sure there for that mess
$600 is actually a good price for the length and styling. Girls are charging almost that foe much shorter lengths, u have to pre-wash, and synthetic hair
I am not a profesdional braider, butI undetstand high pricing because brading is a long tedious process. You're on your feet for hours at a time and most styles take 6 to 10 hours. And black women deserve to charge what they feel their service is worth...Everyone wants to be paid what they are worth. Wouldn't you??
These prices are to high, braiding hair is so common in Cameroon, you can ask your neighbour to help you out and everything is ok.
As I'm based in the Netherlands now I will find an African or Caribbean braider in church, but not for €600,- I can pay 3 bills with that😅
And for that lady cooking her clients scalp, is she crazy?
Wait a minute 600 dollars for box braids WTF! The only braids I paid 200.00 for microbraids two decades ago. I paid 150. 00 for box braids before
I am glad I found love within myself taught myself how to twist and plait my real hair.
I will never
15:55 some women have debilitating menses. If this is true stylist may need to book a medical appointment to ensure something is not internally wrong
Do you have makeup tutorials on your channel too? I would love a full GRWM!
Thank you but in this video I am wearing mascara.
I keep my skincare simple and easy.
Imagine how dry and damaged their ends must be after having hot boiling water poured on them. Hopefully they take care of their hair and scalp after
I live in Atlanta. I got my hair braided a free months ago. I paid 240.00. That included the hair. The braids were also damn near to my butt.
That lady with the boiling water is evil!!! Omgness!!! Why!!?
Had a stylists pull strands of hair out my childs hair caused alot of braking 😢im at a lost on how to fix it
Your Braider used to wash deep condition & trim your hair ?
I have never gone to a braider
Boiling water on the scalp I would of call the police or messed you up
Speechless
Free meal, whine, snacks...Nah, that's not free, it costs and extra 300+ dollars if regular braids are 300!
Girl that’s real you saw the smoke coming from that water
The first price is reasonable. She added the hair. The hair is pretty expensive.
Plus she is giving her an experience.
😅😅 I tell my stylist my discount kicks in at 2hrs for every extra hour. We've never gone past two hours
The menses girl is trifling coz she said she could come back to it in "a few hours" 👀
Added hair can also be toxic and produced at unsanitary environments and for sacrifice to their gods (1 Cor 10:20,21;2 Cor 4:4; Matt 4:8,9; Rev 12:9,12; 1 John 5:19)
Just have to do your own due diligence in researching hair and scalp services and read mostly the customer reviews that are negative because positive reviews can be paid for.
Mya: What caught your eye in the video when you looked off lol?
🙏🏾💜💐😀
I do my own hair. Most of these "stylists" are simply hobbyist, using their limited skills in a salon charging extravagant prices. No, ma'am.
