I'm 4c ...wearing braids grows my hair...but I do them myself, so they're never too tight and I use castor oil on my scalp everyday also I take them down after about a month....no problems with breakage...
Wow! This is some serious stuff! The things women put themselves thru to look beautiful is crazy. That’s something I never did or want on my head is FAKE HAIR.
These new braiders are in the business of ripping ppl hair off, even when you tell them they ignore and continue with extreme grip/tightness braiding. Also they don't moisturize the hair before braiding. If you can't braid hair with moisture then you aren't a braider. Out here braiding hair after straightening it.
Braids are a protective hairstyle it depends on the level of hydration, you put in your hair first before braiding it. So many products starts off with water as base and alcohol along with other ingredients to hydrate your hair when you don't need all of that.
@@veedaray3003 I don't think your understanding what I'm saying. If you have a higher level of hydration and moisture to you're whole head that wouldn't be an issue. However now if you have a heavy hand hair braider it doesn't matter. Because the braider is pulling you hair follicle away from your scalp.
I think the braids are not the issue but the person who does them. If the braids are too tight... they are no longer protective. Don't be afraid to tell your hair dresser to remove the braids and, go looser if too tight. if they refuse... leave and request your money back. It isn't worth it
Ok this is ridiculous!!! As a braider since I was 7 yrs old now 60 there is NO reason to braid that tight. I have braided my 4 girls, 3 granddaughters, nieces, and my own hair but never ever was it that tight. These people braiding hair now are not skilled in the art and they want $$$$ for crappy work. Shame shame shame.
See I’m a braider I have five kids in all they hair is long only one braid their hair in am tender head so I see when I be tight in I do my on hair too

I am 4c as well but my hair is relaxed. I braids my own hair and haven't had any problems. I did when I used to go to the salon though.

@@wendymimes4786 girl I hear you. I used to do tight braids when I was a child and when I was a teenager but now. No more braids for some time.
However, I hate the modern looks men have
Looking like 6 year old black girls.
Snoop started that😞

That’s why I don’t get my hair braided like that anymore.

@@lashellanderson7773 absolutely. I get that. But healthy hair also comes with a healthy scalp and extremely tight braids damages your scalp.

Pulling the hair too tight causes it to break off. When I took my braids out a lot of hair came with it.
oh no. So sorry that happened to you.

Yeah I'm a braider myself but I an very gentle when braiding.
Braids are no good for the hair😢
Love this ❤
@@veedastouch9445 thank you
That baby’s soft spot is literally caving in from the braid tightness wtf
Yeah its mad
That is not true. If you take care of your braids and hair and don't leave them in for too long, your hair will not get damaged..
It depends on the braider first , however, you may not see what's going till later when it late to correct the problem.
@@cbeyond1957 yes but at the same time if your braids are too tight that it’s extremely painful then you could get alopecia
@@lashellanderson7773 true because some braiders, when they braids your hair, your hair breaks for some reason.
Ok…😂💀
One side of my edges got a eyebrow slash in that MF from some lemonade braids I took out after a few hours 😂 if it’s to tight it’s over with babe
Braids . It’s not good for you.
Yup . You allow it. Paying to break your hair off and etc…
lol
Be gentle on the edges

Why do they have to be so tight

It's mot because of the raids, its because the braids are to tight
