    After playing 6 different guitars through the same amp with this pedal in the back, all I can say is...intense. Different tones from different guitars... but overall it sounds killer on all of them. One other thing to note, it's great for dirty bluesy sound on the neck pickup. I was quite surprised by that when I was messing around with it. I used to have an Ibanez tube screamer and a Boss Metal Zone MT-2 pedal back in the old days and this chopper z sounds like a hybrid of those two put together in conjunction with a noise gate and a cab sim. Will it chug? oh yeah ! Bottom line, as long as it holds up I'm totally going to rock this pedal until I die. I get the best of both of my old pedals plus bonuses all in one for way less than the originals. Again, thanks for this video.

      This right here is amazing to hear! You've really put it to the ultimate test it seems 😁 I agree, this pedal is pretty sweet. I had my bassist try it out the other day, and it makes some filthy, and awesome dirty bass tones!

    I just want to know if it can play 80's Thrash Metal riffs because I'm a Metal elitist who plays mostly 80's Thrash Metal I can't stand the djent stuff I just want an overdrive that sounds good for E standard riffs like Creeping Death.

    • @HighImpaktAudio
      @HighImpaktAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't see any reason why this pedal wouldn't be able to handle the 80s thrash riffs. The Chopper-z definitely does best if it's pushing the front of an amplifier. Then some EQ shaping and little to no noise gating (unless you pick up some extra noise) and you should be good to go!

    • @commonsensehill372
      @commonsensehill372 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes... it does thrash pretty darn good. Kind of like old school Megadeth thrash. It depends on your guitar and pickups. I use a Jackson Kelly JS32T on a fender Champion XL100 through the back and it definitely will thrash.

    How do you think it would sound in front of a solid state practice amp?

    • @commonsensehill372
      @commonsensehill372 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question so I tried it on my 40 watt practice amp in the front... and I've gotta say I wasn't expecting much but ; wow. It really sounds good. I didn't have to turn the gain up way up high to get it to sound decent.

    • @FreshWashedWatermelon
      @FreshWashedWatermelon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheap practice amps generally don't have a great sound, so this would be a huge upgrade.
      Just note that it may sound better as it's own preamp (plugged into an fx loop return), which most practice amps won't have. It will likely still be a big upgrade plugging straight into the pedal and in the clean channel of the amp

      @@HighImpaktAudioWould it still sound good if i run it straight through? No amp or anything. Because i want to use a pedal as the amp itself.

    • @HighImpaktAudio
      @HighImpaktAudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @olssong7941 you can definitely run it by itself in the Cab Sim mode on this pedal unless you have a separate IR loader that you'll run it through.
      I also recommend running it through a power section like the Seymour duncan power stage which are some really amazing power amps if you're just wanting to use pedals. The smallest one is in pedal size.
      If you want a sound reference of what the pedal just by itself with no amp sounds like. In my demo play through its the Cab Sim sound that I did.
      I hope this helps!

    • @HighImpaktAudio
      @HighImpaktAudio  ปีที่แล้ว

      @olssong7941 also in my opinion this pedal sounded better with a 3rd party IR rather than the built in Cab Sim.

    Curious as to how this is running in your signal chain.
    Is this pushed through the front of your amp or through the fx loop?

    • @HighImpaktAudio
      @HighImpaktAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Both! This pedal has a setting where it can push the front of the amp in the pre amp section.
      It also has a setting that can be run through the power amp section in the FX loop.
      Or it can just be a stand alone pedal with an impulse response

    • @kingkosher6231
      @kingkosher6231 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HighImpaktAudio i know you can "do both" but I was curious how your particular signal chain was set up in this video.

    • @HighImpaktAudio
      @HighImpaktAudio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As far as the signal chain goes I used each of the ways to use this pedal. I switched between them in the demo.
      Other than the pedal I had my guitar, the Victory Kraken for the amp. Then from the amp into my two notes captor x using the modern standard IR from bogrens rainbows and chainsaws pack.
      Then for the stand alone pedal I just went from my guitar to the pedal and straight into my interface. And I used the Mikko IR plugin with a mesa 4X12 IR
