4:18 Don't think these are Canada geese, Canada geese have a distinct black head, these look greyish-brown and white. These are actually greylag geese. Just like Canada geese, these are also non-native, and they are descendants from escaped farm geese. Which was how they became feral in Australia as well. Greylag geese are native to Eurasia from the UK to the Russian Far East. You can easily tell the gender of these because the males are white while the females are greyish-brown.
Same here, I've grown to really enjoy these two over the past years. They are the greatest couple, serious Nikki, silly and funny Jason, but they mesh perfectly! Very entertaining 👏
9 months is so symbolic, its like the birth of your new life ❤️ I love watching you both, boat or no boat, your travels help me live vicariously through you both!
You’ll love the Philippines, my wife is from there. Until Covid, we went every year and the people are fantastic. Food is good and they have a lot to see. Nice to see you back and look forward to weekly videos again.
I really understand your desire for the first responder training. During my final open water scuba test, someone from a different dive group experienced an asthma attack at 60 ft deep, and panicked. She was dead by the time they got her to the surface. My two instructors instantly jumped into action. They began CPR on her while they were bringing her back to shore, and before the paramedics arrived they had revived her. That experience had a profound effect on me, and the next class I signed up for was Advanced Open Water, and then Rescue Diver.
That's great, its strange how life shows us different paths we are supposed to take for certain reasons, I am sure you'll save many lives in the present and future!
The update is much appreciated, even your “limbo” experiences are entertaining due to the effort you two put into each video. But we understand the challenges you face, and you’ll have our continued support as you make the transition. Plus, we know the new boat will yield endless entertainment and Curiosity 2.0 adventures! Be well!
Wilderness EMS - try NOC. Nantahala outdoor center. They used to have a great course there in the mountains. Jono Bryant ran it. Lots of great hiking, kayaking, and other fun for you guys. Can’t wait to see you on your new boat. Much love. Stay safe and healthy.
I lived in the Philippines' when I was in the navy, what a lovely country and some of the nicest friendliest people in the world. I learned to scuba there and the diving is world class! Everything from war wrecks and corals to hammerhead's. Happy to be along with you guys on this journey, I don't just follow you for the sailing and boat life, I genuinely enjoy the two of you and your adventure, wherever it takes place. Thanks for sharing with all of us.
So stoked you guys went to Flea Bay. I went to Akaroa in my Toyota Hi Ace van while skiing the South Island more years ago than I care to remember and drove to the top of the road to Flea Bay but was too scared to drive down the steep hill beyond the 4WD only sign because the van was automatic. Going back down the hill to Akaroa was scary as the brakes were over heating even in 1st due to the excessive gradient of the road . What a beautiful place I missed out on seeing. Hope you are enjoying the beautiful South Island.
la vagabonde has a performance cat and they have crew frequently. They're also getting a tri-hull in the near future that I believe is being built in the Vietnam. Maybe you can catch a ride.
Subscriber here from the Philippines. Hope you can push through with picking up the boat here. Lots of amazing beaches and places to visit here Excited to watch your Philippine tour videos.
Wait... What! My Birthday is on June 22nd! Looks like a fun adventure you are on right now. It's been hot in the states especially south. Bring shorts...LOL. I can not wait to see your new boat. I visited the web site and it looks so Cool! We are headed to the Adriatic Sea area for a least a year so if you get to that area let us know. Mean while enjoy your "Weird Place" emotionally and looks like geographically as well! RJ & Kelly
That series of site visits looked like so much fun. Chances are that you might not have done that if you still had your boat so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise that your separated from some water home. That huge seal looked warm and cuddly, but, as you know, they can also become aggressive and dangerous if approached when they want to be left alone. We just finished our main transition phase of leaving a stick-and-brick home and moving into a 42 foot fifth wheel (actual length because we measured it twice) so we can empathize with you both on where your at. When it’s done and your moving on you will be surprised how quickly the time went and, hopefully, you can fill your time with more adventures that you wouldn’t have taken otherwise. The medical training is an excellent way to pass the time and it will probably pay benefits in more ways than you can imagine right now. Enjoy your time and learn all you can in the interim.
I'm a fairly new watcher, I ran into your channel while watching Ocean Conservation Namibia(saves Seals from plastic, fishing nets etc. tied around their necks and body usually killing them), as it had different ocean etc.. stuff on the side so I checked out one of your videos then another and another and so on and so on..lol..I fell in love with you Both and your spirits and your Sailboat. I'm actually glad I have time to watch more and get to know you both even more before you start your next journey. I want to Thank You from my Heart for sharing your experiences and journey and taking me/us along for the laughter excitement and challenges. I'm so looking forward to joining you from the beginning this time.. I really love you guys, such nice, kind and loving people. I'm too old and will never have the chance to do this so Thank You again, Ya I'm Tearing up, I'm A BIG Sap!! May God Bless you Both and always keep you safe!!❤❤
Hello you two. I’ve so missed your posts. I’m from NZ but live in Australia. Your posts are so interesting I’ve forgotten all these places you’ve been to. I can’t wait for you new boat arrives and you can have a great holiday in the islands while you are waiting. Take care. Love to you both. ❤️❤️
Glad to see the Wynns beautiful smile today. Glad your out and about sharing great content in your second home New Zealand. You guys are number one with me when it comes to adventure and exploring. Thanks 🙏 for the new boat update. Glad it’s coming along. Don’t rush it, let them do the build right. Glad that you are planning to stop 🛑 by the states, I’m still here in Katy, Texas. Take care and have a great day.
If your headed to SoCal and want to learn performance sailing in windy conditions you have to go to Long Beach aka Hurricane Gulch. I've sailed several times in Santa Ana Winds which blow 40+ knots. Most afternoons there are good winds there. Mornings are flat.
You're definitely not alone - it's been two and a half years since I have seen family as well. For the last two years I have been thinking "maybe next year". One can always hope.
We sailed around Banks peninsula last year as part of a circumnavigation of New Zealand. The only outward bay we anchored in was In Le Bons Bay. We lost our steering between Le Bons and Akaroa Head. Quite an exciting time getting emergency steering going in boisterous conditions. New Zealand is amazing to sail around. It's a shame so few people do.
You guys have what it takes to show up some new/old boats, yacht and catamaran in the meantime. People loves to see new toys for sea or land exploring home on the move. Don't forget people's love you and thrust your experience and gut feeling. Good luck and have fun!
I have been missing you two, so I am so thankful for your update on your journey. Just like in music there are "pauses" that make an instrumental piece beautiful and without those pauses the music itself isn't as good as it is with them. Your life is beautiful, so enjoy the pauses, they stretch our patience, mold our personalities, and make us appreciate more what we do have. Your journey, or should I say, "musical piece", is amazing, many of us find it inspiring, nothing is lost at all, so my encouragement to you two is to keep enjoying the journey. Record your "song" with the pauses, it is beautiful!
Best advice I can give you is be that feather in the wind, Go with the flow, better yet JUST BE!!!!! Enjoy Each and Every moment in this "In-between" time!💎✨⛵🌊💖
Nikki and Jason, I have become an adoring fan of you both and am now a devoted fan. Having seen just how many Rainbows you have caught in your adventures, I think they should be renamed "Wynn-bows"! Your temperament and wandering souls are very in tune with how I se the world. I live vicariously through you soul seeking search for another chance to find the miracles in this life. When your kitties path changed I cried with you, when /mom and family came aboard I was excited for your re-connection, and the list goes on and on. Keep the souls skyward and let the grit of life roll off your back, You have another follower praying for your safe journey for whatever you set your mind too. Also, wanted to compliment your mad skills with the cameras. You put us there with you, have to say I reach out a few times when the one in front was about to trip, and when you reached for interaction with the nature in front of you. Well done. You have a back up career in cinematography if you ever wanted too! Love the Hood Family
Sounds simplistic, but so cool you have EACH OTHER !!!! So many are in that position not by choice AND are doing it alone - like....ALONE! Stoked for you that you have the main foundation- your teammate.
So glad to go along with you on the untethered part of your adventures. In this video it looks remarkably similar to the wilds of Scotland and the roads are the same too. Off to the magical Isle of Mull in October. Enjoy your travels
Brilliant watching your journey and all the trials and tribulations that you two have met head-on and conquered with the humour and passion that you both bring! Looking forward to this next chapter x
Loved hearing about all of the exciting things that await you between now and the time you get Curiosity 2! We’ll keep watching as you guys continue to tell, film, and produce excellent stories.
While writing my C++ programs I live vicariously through you. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't trade what I have for your life and actually your videos make me appreciate what I have even more and I am sure you wouldn't want to trade with me. I always look forward to your videos, wishing you the best.
Wow - I've been to the South Island of NZ and it's just mind-blowingly beautiful. The west coast is positively primordial - I wouldn't have been surprised if a dinosaur had walked out of the woods! I can't wait to follow your journey to the new boat! Keep safe and see you soon!
As always it was delightful to have news of you and some insights regarding continuation of your odyssey otherwise Michael Fortier nailed the gist of it! Someone's amusing attempts to gain attention from a mob of sheep (who would not suspect Jason) were a new one for me and probably many others. I regretted learning your Visa's are due to expire soon as there is so much more you could cover in 'the Land of the Long White Cloud' however as Nikki suggested you can always return later with your new mobile foam.
We are in sort of the same place. We are waiting for our survey on a new to us 47’ Catalina. A new chapter in our lives. The information we are gleamed from your channel has been awesome. I look forward to seeing our new catamaran.
So glad to hear from you! My TH-cam watching has a big hole in it without your postings. Please do these updates when you can...inquiring minds 'wanna know!
Oh my lots of places to go in the real world … can’t wait to see new boat and your adventures…exciting 👏🤩 you are both so nice just love your travels that you share … 💕
I'm a US National Registry EMT-A. Would be happy to come sail with you guys and do some medical skills training! In the interim, there is an off shore emergency medical course at 2022 Annapolis boat show that you might consider.
Don't be so modest. I'm loving your channel more than many Netflix or other shows. The content and quality is great. I got here by watching yachting channels such as Nautiguys, and I do love your approach to sustainable sailing/boating. But I stayed because you guys are adorable, witty and smart. And now even your non-aquatic video's are sublime? Come on! Looking forward to following you throughout your new adventures with the HH. You work hard for it, even though you only show us the more exciting side of your life, of that I'm sure. You deserve all of this and much more 🤍 Keep living my dream! (So I don't have to 😁)
the south island is just stunning . we just did a 6months trip and there is still so much more to see. Enjoy you trip and love recognnising all the spots you are visiting.
SOOOOO happy that you two are back and SAFE!! You've been really missed but I'm really glad that you're able to rest up, relax and take some time off. Thank you for taking you on this craze and rewarding journey!!
Who knows, maybe you will get used to being un-tethered and find some joy in it! I would find it hard too. So nice seeing you enjoying the best we have to offer - I thought I had been most places in Banks Peninsular, but I have not been down that little one with the ladder... keen to try. :)
Oohhhh!!!!! PLEEEEEEZZZ let us know when you come through New Mexico!! I would just love to meet you and pick your brain for some good pointers. Been a long time fan so be safe and hope to see you then!
Awesome video. Take real care when sailing in the Philli Islands, the charts are total crap no matter which service you use and there are tons of reefs and rocks just under water level that will slice you open like a pancake. Definitely works better with ahead sensors and FLIR and a good lookout on the bow. Happy sailing and always a hand of water under the keels.
When you get home, stay in the US near friends and family. Plenty to explore here. Been watching since Jason learned how to pump up low tire in Alaska.
I've really enjoyed watching you go from the road to the sea. I know your videos have given me the confidence to follow my dreams (which are still four years out, #VanLife). No matter when or what videos appear during this transition time, I'll still be watching. Enjoy the remainder of your NZ adventures!
So your venturing through the countryside of NZ. Kind of reminds me of pictures of Ireland with the water, critters, and a slighty cooler tempertures. 9 months will fly, and before you know it you'll be on your new boat!!! Safe travels!!
Hi nicky and Jason 👋 just us 2saying hi and thanks again for sharing this video update 👋 den and sue we are looking forward for your next adventure and update video 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚌🚌🚌
Pretty sure that bird was the neighbourhood watch. Visiting family looks like an awesome road trip. Love your videos, they are always great no matter what you're doing.
We’ll be with you all the way. I’m so excited to see where life takes you. I know your family is very happy that you’re coming home to visit. I’ve missed seeing Jason’s mom! Thanks for taking us along to the South Island. I’m amazed at NZ’s beauty. Love to you both. Oh and deep breathing helps with the anxiety!!!
This is the best and most fertile place to be. When there is disruption, there is chaos, and from chaos comes a new order. 9 months is nothing. Enjoy, from someone who in the past 40 years moved from France, to the US, to Australia, to Canada, back to the US, then on to Fance again. 10 of those years were on a sailboat, a monohull. I never sailed on a catamaran, but I'm sure the great sailing must be divine. Stuff that constant heeling.
I really love you guys, and I'm waiting for your new boat with you. Thank you for enabling following you, you are great together, and are doing really amazing job documenting, editing Etc.
Can’t wait to be part of your journey and watch more of your videos. Awesome channel and awesome people who show us every part of life and others lives from travel. I love the serious but more is when you add the hysterical funny parts as well. Don’t change just stay as you are because that’s what keeps us here. Enjoy every moment, enjoy the family and don’t worry we will all be here waiting.
Thanks so much for the honesty about feeling not tethered. It must be a bit unsettling. Thanks for the critter id - always helpful and interesting. It's an honor to be able to see some of your adventures. Thanks so much for taking us along.
Genuine. I think genuine is a nice word for you two. You are genuinely nice people that take us along for the ride but also appreciate it from your end. It’s been a pleasure to get to know you and see these wonderful places. I look forward to your videos and find myself can’t believing it’s over already cause I’m thoroughly enjoying the content. Can’t wait for all the wonderful new adventures to come. Thank you from Philly
Hi guys! such great surprise to see an FJ cruiser again, I just came back to Denmark after 6 years in Australia. And in Denmark we dont have any playground for an FJ so you dont see them up here... In Australia I decided it was adventure time and bought a FJ Cruiser, and upgraded it for exploring and took my 2 girls (3and 5) 50000km off road around Australia.... hang loose
If you're still near Christchurch, go to Cassels Brewery. Also try some of the Waipara Resiling wines if you can, unironically some of the best in the world
Thank you for update. Loved seeing what you showed of anew Zealand. Thinking about going there either next winter or year after that. You must be excited to be going home to see the family after all this time away.
Wow you look great lovely Nikki great smile. Leave a lot of happy tracks as you go down life's roads. And keep this in mind. Other will want to follow in the path you leave behind................ ..be water my friend
We all gonna support you both and will wait till u both got on board again, i cant wait😁😀😊 im exciting.. I hope u guys be strong, enjoy it.. this is the moment for both of you getting urself taking a break from sailing.. we all gotchu😙😘😚 Love you guys..
It was really cool the other day I got to work and one of my co-workers was talking to another co-worker about this couple they watch on TH-cam and are Patrons for who are awaiting their new boat to be built. I mentioned I am watching a couple on TH-cam that just sold their boat called Curiosity and they were awaiting their new boat as well. Funny to find out we were talking about the same thing. Small world we all live in. It was also something fun to talk about and distract from work
It’s like waiting for Christmas. The excitement and anticipation keeps growing. So don’t worry about us. I do get you sold your home and the new one is being built and we’ve had that happen too. It’s a pain. And I believe you are making payments already. Just don’t fly back to Texas as an option… it’s HOT 🥵 here!!!
FJ Cruiser "land yacht" FTW! :). Nice that you managed to borrow a diesel, because the fuel efficiency of the petrol versions is pretty dismal :) Ask me how I know :) but a great adventure vehicle - you're going to have a blast in it.
Oh wow, havn't watched any of your vids for a while, didn't realise you are in NZ, I'm in the North Island. Congrats on the new boat, can't wait to see it.
At least you can now take a leisurely stroll around the South island, see the beautiful coastline and scenery. I miss the South Island, i loved it when i visited back in 2009 Let's hope your new home doesnt suffer any delays
I’m sorry Nicky and Jason a couple of videos ago you were looking for good fares back to the US and I gave you some information the side that made Ciara have is called Fare Drop You can probably find a good price for a flight from New Zealand to the US hope this helps
My wife is from the area where the Whale Sharks are in Cebu. We are very familiar with the area. If you want some local perspectives of what to see, where to go, what to do on Cebu and surrounding islands, we'd love to help. Cebu is our "home" even though we live and work in Italy. It's truly a fantastic place.
Brings back memories of the new Zealand cruise my wife and I took just prior to her passing from cancer. On a lighter note, hope you enjoy your visit to my home state of South Carolina!!!
Oh my, such a long wait for the new ride. Thankfully you will have plenty of time with family, friends and for all the learning you've got to do. That sounds like a great idea. I have worried about you at times but always realize you made it to put up a new video. Hopefully the Temps in this part of the country will cool off and the arrival back home won't be so miserable. 107 for a high in the southern part of OK recently.
Your always welcome on our Outreamer 5x. You guys have been a inspiration to us, and I know many others. Thanks for all your great effort in your videos!
Cheers to finding exhilaration and WONDERMENT even in the uncertainty and uncomforts in the season of being "untethered". May you find comfort in the knowing its only for a season and certainty in your awesomeness as adventurers inspired by _curiosity_ . We are really excited to experience New Zealand's South Island through your videos... as we dream of someday visiting it ourselves.

As a Canadian I can confirm that these geese are not ours!
Definitely not Canada Geese!
As I sit here in New Jersey in 98 degree summer (it feels like an oven outside) It’s so nice to see winter! Being in Limbo is a great journey it self!
Don't worry, we'll stick with you throughout this process. I'm really anxious to see you in your new boat!
Same here, I've grown to really enjoy these two over the past years.

This too is part of a chapter a hopefully short chapter of you being land bound. Wow so nicely done!
Oh my lots of places to go in the real world … can’t wait to see new boat and your adventures…exciting 👏🤩 you are both so nice just love your travels that you share … 💕
Wow 9 months time really looking forward to your new adventure I’ve just packed up my working life so will have plenty of time to enjoy your videos xx
Be safe. We want to see you BOTH in the new boat!
strange realizing just how much we missed the Wynns. NZ is shockingly beautiful. Thx & simply cannot wait to see the new boat 🤪🙏
Thanks for the update. Enjoy your untethered life! You are right 9 months will fly by! Be well!
South Island in the winter.....Well, at least it won't be crowded :). Best wishes and safe travels!!!!
Yes, Philippines. Im waiting..
I'm with you - on the boat or off. Your videos are fun, beautiful and interesting. And the quality is great!
When you get home, stay in the US near friends and family. Plenty to explore here. Been watching since Jason learned how to pump up low tire in Alaska.
Great Episode! I drove through Hart on the way to Olton last week.. I thought about you all.. World’s away from this West Texas Prairie.
Excited about the new boat. When are you coming back to the States?
You have an amazing life!! Thanks for sharing your dreams and accomplishments.
That closure was so heart felt, thank you! Enjoy the time, it’s rare to have it. Be well, stay safe.
So good to see a change of pace, good luck with the travels while you wait patiently for your new home.
Glad to hear from you again. Wow! Absolutely beautiful... stunning... the water and hike.
I’ve had the HH dream page set as my Home Screen for months. Ready for someday.
Looking forward to seeing the South Island through your eyes. My trip was cancelled in 2019 due to COVID. Maybe 2023...
How about a meet and greet in Texas!! BBQ anyone? Thanks for the update, ya'll live an amazing life for sure. Keep that anchor tethered!
It's kind of upwind, but Palau, Yap and the Marianas are intensely interesting!
Hope to see you here!
Looking forward to your next adventure! Enjoy some family down time, it's priceless.
Surpised my country popped up. we definitely have some good beaches around here. plus quite cheap for most of the world. congrats on the new boat.
I'll be here each Sunday evening. Looking forward to enjoying the travels. Be safe and enjoy.
Hi guys! such great surprise to see an FJ cruiser again, I just came back to Denmark after 6 years in Australia.
Also try some of the Waipara Resiling wines if you can, unironically some of the best in the world
Loved your post and work, will stand by you two... cheers mates, all in your own time..
Thank you for update. Loved seeing what you showed of anew Zealand. Thinking about going there either next winter or year after that. You must be excited to be going home to see the family after all this time away.
Thanks for the ride, will continue to live vicariously through you guys! It is always a treat.
Wow you look great lovely Nikki great smile. Leave a lot of happy tracks as you go down life's roads. And keep this in mind. Other will want to follow in the path you leave behind................
..be water my friend
Life is all about living in the present. Enjoy each day that comes and your future will unfold in them. Love your videos.

I absolutely love the both of you,bim super excited for your endeavors, I'll be right here anxiously waiting to watch you set sail once more
Cheers to finding exhilaration and WONDERMENT even in the uncertainty and uncomforts in the season of being "untethered". May you find comfort in the knowing its only for a season and certainty in your awesomeness as adventurers inspired by _curiosity_ . We are really excited to experience New Zealand's South Island through your videos... as we dream of someday visiting it ourselves.
