Thanks for making this! I spent about 90 minutes last night trying to beat Alecto. Then I found for video, realized I was being way too aggressive, and beat her on my second attempt today.
One of my favorite bosses tbh, only one real kill shot move which is pretty easily telegraphed so honestly it’s pretty fair, the massive healthpool and bleed immunity makes sure you have to learn the move set. Her and the crucible knight at the evergoal are some of the best Elden Ring bosses IMO it’s pure souls gameplay if you dont cheese them and learn their moves.
Also this boss is one of the few bosses in the game that can be poise broken pretty easily. I beat her with just double daggers and found that a lot of times my power combo would break her poise if she was trying to do things. Which is one of the reasons I thought it was more fair.
I've found that one important thing against this boss is that you need to constantly back off. Not only because of her ground slam, but because of her short dagger range. Having a shield also helps if you can't consistently dodge her mini maliketh slam, because it will prevent you from taking small damages from failed dodges and possibility survive a few hits of that attack.
that ball of blur was truly my nemesis.... keeping ones distance was truly the key. That - along with poise-breaking was the key. (I had only this - any Melania left to do. :D and I found this fight way harder than Elden Beast.) Cheers!
one way that's been working pretty well for me, was a nagakiba with piercing thrusts, (cold affinity) and then a weapon that does fire damage in the left hand. It resets freeze procs, making her health fall a little bit faster.
Use war ash in a fair 1v1 fight against an enemy that isn't even giant? Shit, most Elden Ring players don't have any honor or even accept a challenge So do you want to play soulslike?
My own advice using the Godslayer Sword is: Keep running back in an angle to the right avoiding her combo attacks by doing this, whenever she jumps to do a normal lunge(not the death blade one) punish using running attack, repeat. She also tends to dodge to her left mid combos, you can punish this too. Her grab usually misses you if you keep running in an angle, you can punish this too. Always pay attention for her death blade jump, maintain you distance for that. Repeat these steps and you usually will end up grinding her down.
I beat her as a mage by: 1) spamming Ranni’s Dark Moon (due to the cold effect) and retreating to refill FP/HP as needed. 2) ate the beginning I equipped lusat’s staff and drank flask of wondrous physics with cerulean hidden tear (infinite FP), for a bit more of careless spamming. Perhaps combining the Opaline Hardtear (damage negation) into it as well would have made it more efficient…
Finally beat her after watching this video. My issue was the mini-Maliketh move that one-shots me. Just had to keep my distance, not get greedy, and run away when I could. Thank you for the video, especially when you said to not feel bad about struggling with her, because she's just tough.
I’m a new Elden ring player in my first play through, I found the early game very hard but found most of liurnia quite easy. UNTIL THIS WOMAN. I got humbled fast lol.
for anyone who is having trouble with her just stand on the rock on her right and keep attacking from there don't let her get on the rock and she won't reach you. it's a cheese I know but this boss is very difficult. or you can perry and roll your choice.
Hey guys ,so I was trying out stuff and found out that using frinzy spill weaks it that you can break her stance in one het after using a frinzy spill ,good luck
Was a really fun boss fight, got her third try I found it was best to hit her with a dragonice incantation so she takes some frostbite damage real quick. Then it was just a very elegant dance with her, she sticks to a pattern of attacks and you can usually get her in between her combos given you have enough vigor.
I used the classic Sword and Board build to defeat her just now. Just patience, guard counters, and pokes whenever I had the chance. Also kept moving away from her not allowing for her to grab or hit me with that one shot insta-kill move.
I heard she’s a nightmare to deal with as a mage. I have only fought her once and I died maybe 2 times only. Ancient Death Rancor works wonders in mobbing her and breaking her poise and you can top it off with Sword of Night and Flame. Cheesed her real good. My only problem was to dodge her red dagger thingy. If I got hit twice I’m done (40 Vigor with Spellblade full set).
I have only beaten her once and it was exactly this. Ancient Death Rancor really does a number on her, I think because of her low poise. As a pure INT, though, I have yet to beat her.
The ashhes she gives you turn ER into easy mode. You do, however, have to kill Alecto, and what a fight this is. Thanks for the vid, it's nice to have a place to study the patterna without having to just run the fight over and over
Great vid. Couldn't seem to get it trapped on the rock ledge to cheese it like other videos but this method of just keeping it at bay with the rock itself just took me one try. 🎉
Ok i found that power stancing any decent range weapon that scales good of your stats + raptors black feathers and claw talisman works very well. Basically just run away from him constantly and punish his normal and special jump attack with your own jump attack
I am currently 100 level. I was using Golden Greatshield( I think any shield will work fine but take care of your stamna) with Blasphemous. Blade. And whole fight I just guard and counter attacked and he died eventually after 10 times of counter attack and 3 poise damage ( idk whats the name of it but it happens when they are out of poise bar). Except the red whirlwind that comes from above, all his attacks are %100 physical and so easy to stagger. FYI
I went on here to find out how, but then I realized that I needed to learn on my own, so I only used the information that Frost is the thing that Alecto is weak to, so I got my Colossal Greatsword (The slab of iron), enhanced it with Frost, and I absolutely bullied that thing with some natural reflexes, no hard memorization really, and it was done in a jiffy. I used Greatsword +17. Its Stamp (Upward Cut) is ultra satisfying and is in highly efficient detriment to the boss in split moments.
Great video! I've just got to this area and I'm intent on beating Alecto. I'm going to get some frost action on the go and certainly bide my time, seems patience is the key!
With a big sword it is so easy, when u connect u can hit her no stop till u run out of stamina, then u will stun her. Most of her attacks can be blocked with the shield and the ones u can’t just roll backwards. I went under leveled and killed her 3rd try.
Here are another tips: 1. Use medium shield with 100% block and put carian retaliation. The reason: you can tank her 1st attack then when she combos it with spin attack, parry her when she spins. It is easier to parry. Carian retaliation can also parry the bullet aow. 2. Stay close, when she does the jump attack and lunges her knife to the ground, go to the back and backstab her. 3. You don’t need to do any of this stuff. 2 hand the blasphemy sword. Use the swords special swing immediately after. Back off and wait for her to fire magic. It’s an easy dodge. Just step to the side. When she starts to approach use special again then hit and back off. Rinse and repeat. Takes about a minute. I figured this out after about 50 deaths trying to use magic and frost. That blade also heals you for a percentage of the damage you deal, if you time right you won’t need any potions.
The problem with this is not everyone is going to have the stats to wield this weapon and not everyone will resort to a respec just for it. My video is meant to serve a broader strategy that works with a large variety of builds.
Playing as a sorcerer the best I could so far was bringing her health down to ~40%. Some of her blade attacks have extremely weird hitboxes, imo - I evade them the same way and sometimes they don't hit me and sometimes they look like she missed but she takes your health away. A very tiresome fight!

14 death. 13 death to realise I cannot fight him in close combat. What I did was run around and let him follow me. I used bloodhound fang +9. Whenever he comes close I timed it perfectly and slash him. And again more around. Whoever he jump attack. I use my weapon special immediately and that hits like 1000 damage. And I repeat 😁😁😁
I swear this guy gave me a little more trouble than Malenia
thanks!
if everybody struggles with it, it might just be a little to hard. It's a game not another degree...
It’s an easy kill. Bloodhound fang l2 all the time. Just have to time it right. It did not even touch me
