My brain wasn't expecting that, and I actually said, "WHOOAAA" out loud when he did that. It looked like if he fell right, it was a 100+ foot fall. SKETCH.

I don't know about that, the slightly fisheye lens on gopro's tends to distort images, often making drops look steeper than they are in reality. In my experience, anyway.

@@imcontemptwithlife4155 Yea, couldn't get through it. First thing you learn about changing camera angles is you only do it when you need to or when there's a better shot with a different camera. This pilot was just way too excited about flying and not excited enough about the mountain biker.
Amazing video, but completely disagree - the drone operator was just making me sick. Focus on the action, not spinning endless circles around him. I literally said out loud "stop doing circles!" during the video.

I mean, sure, carrying a full-sus bike is tedious (it's not an e-bike BTW, that's just Santa Cruz' rear suspension design), and over these rocks it's pretty difficult. But it's not something most accomplished&fit climbers couldn't also handle. The carrying part is _nowhere near_ as remarkable as his riding down, which is just total madness. And: I doubt they actually used a helicopter much for getting up. Most of the work for this video was probably “research” to find the best way to ride down, and practicing the dangerous parts (i.e. _all_ parts) a bunch of times, with safety mats lying around and maybe security rope and whatnot. That would have taken a lot of time during which the helicopter wouldn't be needed, and helicopters are _expensive_ - even for a star like him.

It's an fpv drone no a dji drone. that type of flying is actually pretty easy to do. then your run it through Reelsteady stabilization in post and it looks awesome.

Hate to say it but I agree. The POV drone works great for most MTB shots but it isn’t the right choice here. We need horizon leveling in these shots to communicate the steepness of the gradient.
Camera man was too busy flexin instead of capturing the riding. Also, that intro gave me crazy motion sickness. If I didnt know who MacaAskill was I would have turned it off.

Yea, I felt like it was a little bit too exhibitionist camera work with the swirling around Danny, instead of just giving us the real perspective of how insane this is.

Hate to say it but I agree. The POV drone works great for most MTB shots but it isn’t the right choice here. We need horizon leveling in these shots to communicate the steepness of the gradient.
because its done with a bloody drone skewing and spewing all over the place.....should have shot it simply....
Camera man was too busy flexin instead of capturing the riding. Also, that intro gave me crazy motion sickness. If I didnt know who MacaAskill was I would have turned it off.

That´s the difference between Danny and some new "stars" of the new mountain bike generation! Danny goes slow, feels every rock, while others would just go bonkers and just trust their dampers. That´s a different spirit and I will always be on Danny´s spirit side!
