hi there !! your so cool and fun to learn from. l i've skated outdoors a little and when I come up on a uneven surface " like on a sidewalk" like you said on your video to stagger your skates to help prevent a fall, yes that's what I do and also for me I figured that by lightly taking weight off the front wheels of the leading skate gave me even more control and confidences....well thought this could be a good tip, thank you from Tom ocel 😊😊😊
Thanks for all the great tips. Your great disposition makes this video so cool to watch. I met you at the BLM roll out, Mission Beach. You’re as great in person as you are on screen. Keep posting more videos for us newbies please 😘
I just looked-up Mission Beach and you’re heading towards Dog Beach. We went there back in 2008 because I wanted to see the dogs. It was great!! I played in the water with some dogs and the owners just laughed at me. From Vancouver BC!!😊
San Diego is so incredibly beautiful! I enjoy skating around my neighborhood but the scenery is nothing like this...but it is super fun nonetheless! Thank you for taking us on your roller skate adventure. I have skated for about 3 1/2 months and I am improving so much and getting less fear every day....so to all of the beginners...you will get there! Just a few months ago I could barely stand on skates lol! Also want to say Kiana your hair looks AMAZING!!!!
I visited a friend who went to school in Irvine years ago and we went to Mission Beach in San Diego for a day. It was one of the best days of my life! We went swimming, rented bikes, rode the roller coaster, and got some amazing authentic Mexican food. I hope to be able to visit again one day!!
Love you kiaaanaa! I skated on a beach boardwalk when i was 12 on inlines, stopped to step over, fell slowly and landed on my wrist gently and broke it. hahahaah.. it's too damn easy.
I love these TH-cam videos! So many things learned. And so much positivity to get us all out there. I’m learning. But being very patient. Kiana you are an amazing skater and inspirational as well. Thank you!!
This is 9 months old but I found it now as a new skater. Something that helped me get over my fear so much of falling was to just invest $10 on some cheap padded shorts for bikes, BMX, and skateboarding it basically just has a cushion on the tailbone area and that absorbs some of the impact. But like, honestly it gave me the confidence to survive my first few falls. It’s so funny, I’ve broken bones in other sports but I guess just the anticipation is what kills. Lots of love to everyone.
@5:25 The moment you realize that Kiana started skating through the exact same area that Michael sees Franklin & Lamar getting ready to steal a couple of cars for Simeon!! #GTAV 💯😂🎮🛼
This girl is great, talking and skating with a mask on and nailing that jump. That's pretty impressive. I just got some new hockey boots converted into quads and I don't have that block between my wheels I think I need one. Don't know where to look. Keep up the good videos 👍
Great tips about cracks! A crack caught my left skate and my right skate kept on going and I could not catch myself in time and I did a split and tore my right hamstring. I cannot tell you the pain and stars I saw. 6 weeks off my skates to recooperate! Such a freakin bummer!
My uncle has a snake looked just like him. In the summertime at night, he’s take his snake along with a Polaroid camera and extra Polaroid instant film and he’d make over $300+ per night for letting people take pictures!!!
You're getting cat calls, because you're in college town. USD, UCSD and SDSU bachelors always bombarding the boardwalk to get a peek at the hotties. My cousin and I were rollerblading in the 90s, from Bellmont Park going north. During our outing they were cat calling her. She was only 17. I was like, that's it, we're leaving.
Most out there thing I’ve come across skating was a red belly black snake when I was about 10 and skating at a local park, it was just chilling on the asphalt sunning itself and I almost didn’t see it because it blended into its surroundings, I came to a very quick Stop and backed away slowly until I felt safe enough to leg it home
I am just now finding and watching this. I want to share an odd obstacle I faced. I am in Ohio, so i skate a lot of bike paths. One day Im rolling along a bike path and I see in the distance a chunk of path missing across the path. I approached very slowly. It was 4 inches deep and about 1 ft wide. I stepped in with a weightless foot on my toe stop, stepped down with my other foot, then tip toed across and used the same method in reverse to get out. It was a gnarly hole.
You definitely could. Its just SUPER bumpy It would depend on wheels you have for the smoothest ride over! The harder the more bend in your knees to absorb/get over. Gummy wheels would roll over easily!
All of yall make it looks easy im about to buy me a pair of moxi panther so ill see how easy or difficult is for me to learn 😁 i have to say i dont know how to ride a bike this will be my first wheels because i dont drive either lol
@@moxiskates yes thank you!!!! I already have them i bought some for my son he got a scooter but he doesn't like using them so I'll use them for my roller skates 😁
It's probably too late now, and may be mentioned below, but that's a man hole cover, a pot hole is more like a crater, damage to the surface of the pavement.
Um so my weirdest thing was a snake family that was on my friends street and so not trying to get bit I skated home and called my friend and she picked me up
Between 8.38 and 9.35 are people not wearing masks... even with children? Sorry... thank you so much for your helpful tutorial! I am waiting for my beach bunnies to arrive watching as many instructional videos
Uh.....theyre OUTSIDE ya nut! Why would you wear a mask while walking outside along a sidewalk when it's already hot as hell? If you wanna wear one outside, by all means. But to be shocked when other people are just living their normal lives shows how brainwashed you've become just In this past year. All it took was 365 days for the government and media to make you believe you need a mask outside 🤣🤘 You were easy.

A pothole is a hole that has worn in the asphalt. That is a manhole, they are used to access the utilities under the street.

I noticed when I skate on wet pavement it gets super slippery & I almost always fall. What is recommend to stabilize oneself?
Big, staggered squat and just roll through. Don’t try to stride through water. I always avoid water if I can because I also slip out :)
As an advanced skater I say stay away from water and rain! 😂 you will fall no matter how a staggered

We dont have sand. But i was once in the forest with my skates 😂🇨🇭🛼🦾💪🏿🤘🤘🏻🖖🏽🤘🏾
I’m not advanced, I’m intermediate but I had NO IDEA what a roll out was

Hi Kiana! I’m also here in San Diego. Where is this at? I would love to skate it. Hope to skate with u some time
i’m in san diego too!
Love this video as a non-binary person from San Diego who just got my first pair of skates. Just focusing on not falling on my ass at this point!
do they have a youtube channel or tiktok?
Bruised tail bone right now from last weekend. Was at skating ring. Oops. Lots muscle rub
oww, are you feeling ok?
I wear size 41-42 in EU so not sure if I should get a size 9 or 10?
Can you roll over the manhole cover if you stagger your feet or is it just too rough?
You definitely could. Its just SUPER bumpy It would depend on wheels you have for the smoothest ride over! The harder the more bend in your knees to absorb/get over. Gummy wheels would roll over easily!

For beginners of outdoor skating, is it challenging to learn to skate indoors at a rink? Is it like apples & oranges?
Skating indoors is 1000% easier than outdoors. If you perfect skating outdoors you will be legendary indoors
