I love this. Please include more newbie skaters in your videos when showing skills and tricks because it gives me more confidence as a skater to see other people learning.
Got a little emotional watching you guys. I was diagnosed with autism last week after 4 bad months of burnout. I now realize why parks are so hard for me, especially on a sensory level (that leads straight to a state of anxiety and stiffness which definitely doesn’t help when skating). It’s so hard to focus on the (lacking) control of my own body while being conscious of the constantly moving objects (people lol) around me. I love to learn but it’s absolutely nerve-wracking. I felt so different from the others with me and I didn’t find believable words to explain what was going on, so I withdrew little by little. But watching you I always feel like I can try again, going slower than the others maybe but still bask in the skate induced euphoria I experienced before. Take care dear ones.
@@lesleyboulant4053 i agree, i always ask my friend to accompany me while i skate. they would do their own thing, doing work on their iPad and phone like a mom haha
@@projectpinupgirl it would be great to go in the morning but point 1, night owl, point two, work. And somehow I know I should learn to co-exist since it’s a culture in itself. But the struggle is ugh
Same. I would meet my friends at the park, lace up, gear up, helmet and everything... then I would just sit on the bench, watching everyone, not skating at all. I started going at 5am to practice (empty) and now I can skate around people. :3
I’ve just started at parks it’s so much scarier then they give credit for, showing up and just going down ramps is so scary. Pumping is so much work. This video is very realistic for ppl like myself. Thanks for the advice
Me and my friend are going to the skatepark, and I was so scared. I can roller skate really well, but I was scared of falling, just hearing you talk about all of these relatable things helped me a lot! TYSM!!!
Love your shirt, Rebel! I need one for sure. LOL, people keep hollering at me lately to do a back flip as I skate by them. Yeah, no. 😂 I am also a skate park newb named Heather so this was particularly encouraging for me. Thank you!
I should’ve watched this a second time before my first skate park trip yesterday. Let’s just say I thank God for the gear and my air bags and belly fluff my body from the neck down still hurts today.
This is a GREAT Vid I'm starting to do these things now, I can also go along the half pipe (as if surfing it) so fun but there's always more I wana learn. *cough* Grinding and jumping down a steep bowl
Same here honey you're not alone ❤️ Don't give up! Before you know it it will happen and be up there skatin in no time ☺️💕 I keep falling and it's one step closer to the goal!
i’m hoping to go to a skate park for the 1st time soon. gotta learn a few more things and then imma go for it 😅. thank you for this video, it’s helped me understand a bit more and feel more comfortable with it ❤️❤️
Random side note! I saw you and your wife at rollercon looking gorgeous! I hope you guys have a wonderful day! And thank you for posting about rollercon cuz I found out about it because of you! ❤️
I haven't been skating for 2 years. I just ordered protective gear and want to do it again! Oh men the most little speed and small tiny hill always scared me. I want to practise every day. We have a skating rink outside! So that is awesome! But i will start inside my house first.
I went to the skate park today and bought my tennis shoes with me and changed into my roller skates at the skate park..like idk how to more comfortably skate around especially with so many people there and literally watching
😂😂😂 "this is heather, she never been to a skate park and didn't skate in a while" -> heather goes down a ramp and succeed all the tricks me, starting roller skate (did in line in the past but that doesn't count it's so long ago). -> can't even stride without tripping over invisible stuff cause... gravity 😂 😂 😂 good job heather!!!!
I'm so nervous to start skating, the park (normal park not skatepark) where I live at thankfully has a foam-like padding on the ground so I've been using that to practice but I'm really scared to try it on the actual stone/concrete pavement.
I learned how to skate without toe stops. It's hard for me to actually skate with toe stops now that I'm practicing at the skatepark. Feels like I'm just learning how to drive and breaking too hard
Hey loving your videos,I watch them more than I practice them because I cant get out much to skate. Anyways I have a question please, my skates dont really want to turn either wide or not wide, is it because they are new and the wheels need to wear in? Or are they cheap skates maybe? Thank you xxxx
Nah bro too much detail, instructions ,tutorials I'll just go on the skate park without instructions and I don't mind breaking some bones and ofc my right hand cuz who doesn't want a laptop in school Instead of writing everything😎😎😎
Okay. I’ve never wanted to go to a skate park before watching this. You’ve inspired me to search for skate parks near me, and I’ve found 2 that are within a 45 minute drive from me! Of course, I’ll have to go before daylight to keep from having a heat stroke in the hot & humid east Texas weather. By 8:00 in the morning it’s already too hot for this old girl. LOL. ✌🏼💜🛼
Rebel and Shove are the best teachers 💜💜💜 This was so much fun!!!
I thought it was Bowie the French Bulldog lol 😂

This video is sooooooo helpful. I've attempted going to skateparks a couple of time and end up just sitting in my car. AHHHsocial anxiety is real.

i have this just when i try to find an empty parking lot and there's one car passing by... like "stop looking at me already" 😂

Can't wait to try this! Never thought of myself as a park skater.... but never say never, right?! 💖
You are both great teachers !!! ❤️ I loved this video!!!! I can't wait for the snow to melt so I can try baby ramps!!!
so good to see a person actually being the first time at the skatepark. Now i dont feel alone 💖
I just want to commend you for park skating again after your injury. You are an inspiration!
All I gotta say is I wish I had a Rebel and Shove to teach me!! So patient and encouraging!! Awesome
Video!

You're welcome! You got this! You can definitely do it. Falling is less scary than you think, just make sure you practice falling!
So cool! I just started. I need someone like that to support my journey at the park.
We need a new to skating meet up so we can all have anxiety together😂😂😂

I was thinking of going to the skate park but was too anxious about it, but this honestly made me wanna go for sure!
As a new outdoor skater (I skate mostly indoor rinks), I was sweating watching this. I would be so nervous at a skate park! 🫣😬

Gosh I wish you were my teacher irl. You're so nice and supportive, not to mention how cool you are

Yall are so awesome. I hope I can find someone to help me when I finally grow a pair and try the park. Love yall!
Aww happy the algorithm fed me this today ❤
I sat in the skate park (for the first time) watching this! I do roller derby(flat track) but I was still pooping myself about stepping on the ramps 😂
I feel this. I did derby for a long time but any kind of incline or less-than-perfect flooring would scare the crap out of me.
Lol that little girl in the background!! 😂😂 loved this video though one day I will go to the skate park but that day may be very far away from now
Best teacher ever! 😘

Hey I have a beginner skaterrr question: Should i try on a pair of skates before buying? As in, not buy online?
