I love The Retrofit Source! I've had them long enough to tell you that they stand behind their products 100% and won't hesitate to make it right. Solved my driver side light being out by replacing the entire relay after following this guide and swapping parts left and right to figure out the issue. Bought and install in 2015 so 7 years before it went out is pretty good. Was the morimoto D2S retroquick kit and I suspect one of the two HID relays (driver side) failing was the cause for my one light out issue. So glad I didn't need to replace the whole system with how these retrofit kits are designed with having modular components (ballast, igniters, relay, bulbs)
I had a similar issue recently and did the process of elimination as well and mine turn out to be a bad relay. But already got one ordered on the way. Thanks TRS.

Wow... so much ROOM! Damn German vehicles it’s easier to take both headlight units out and start checking. Last time it was the bulb. Usually when it’s a bulb I just buy two because even if same vendor and you’ve had the light for a year they tend to not be the same color by a bit and I’m OCD. Great video, nice step by step for those that don’t know what to troubleshoot!!! Thanks man!

Got the d2s kit put in my tacoma a couple months ago and the driver side takes usually 3 different trys to light at first startup. Know what could be at fault or is it just the cold?

Nice vídeo. Ive done this tests on my MINi Cooper s r53 but same side fails but not always ... maybe it's humidity but not sure I've heard some making a small hole below headlight and fixed but I'll do this as a last resource.. I'm out of ideas . The issue is that sometimes is fine sometimes fails...
I just purchased 2014 raptor retrofit Headlamps , went with the instructions and installed everything when I turned on the headlamps both worked fine

The only difference in my case is that the right side headlight some times does not want to turn on at once. I have to turn off and on several times until it finally turns on. Lately, I noticed that it flickers before turning on at all. Any advice ?
I just ran through all of these scenarios and the problem did not cary over to the other light. What would cause it from here? If I turn my lights off and on several times the light that is out will sometimes fire on. I’m at lost and about to throw this whole system away. These morimotos have been everything but reliable. I’ve had better luck with cheap eBay HID kits
It’s weird because I used another set of ballasts because I needed them, then another set of bulbs. The right one went out maybe a day later, after using the same bulb it blew my fuse with a new ballast. Odd thing was I bought different bulbs and it worked, no new fuses needed surprisingly
