I love how I get back to Placebo every like 5-7 years and get the same chills. Especially when you have memories from 12 years ago. It's like a portal now.
There's such a feeling of simplicity to it: the minimalistic lyrics, the strings, the pared down melody, Brian's subtle harmonic changes... It makes it sound so pure and untethered, like it's floating in a timeless place.
I Love it when a song starts only with music in your right ear and you’re stressed if your headphones are broken and then it starts on the left too and you‘re like aaaaaahhh It’s a thrill u know
obliviate. Lol! I am just about fixing the left speakers in my car (not responding) - this is not a good song to test them them - but placebo kicks ass - big time! 😍💋👍
I was in a small local brewery, mostly empty, at the ass end of a lonely industrial park today and this song came on. I immediately had to find it. sometimes life is lucky that way.
That's Brian for ya!! Oh, and he's just as good live as he is in the studio... if you can catch Placebo on their current tour then do so! You won't be disappointed!!
I don’t know what it is about Placebos lyrics that I think is so unique and special...but there’s always been a nice twist to them I couldn’t find in any other music. My mom listened to Placebo back in the day and I almost forgot it, until they played this song on the radio. I immediately recalled Brian’s voice because it’s so nostalgic to me :)
This is the song I played the most when I was younger and used to skate, ski and snowboard a lot more than I do now. It was on repeat. Perfect for shredding.
Omg, shocker, that’s how I came across the song as well! it’s such a good one! Not only does it fit the game perfectly, but sometimes I used to catch myself listening to it and restarting the game just to hear it 😂
Same here, that F1 videogame wasn't that great TBH, but it introduced me to this song and i'm thankful to this day, i don't think i'm watching Cruel Intentions any time soon, so F1 (2000) was the way to go, i heard the entire song, selected Gaston Mazzacane (since i'm Argentinian) in that yellow ish Telefonica Minardi and go for the 2000 F1 season ;)
Im 17 and have only recently seen cruel intentions (obviously i had no idea about it when it first came out) and i love the movie. But the opening track really got me so i did a lot of searching and finally found the song. I look forward to sampling the rest of Placebo's music, that movie had a good soundtrack really feeling this song
Sucker love is heaven sent You pucker up, our passion's spent My heart's a tart, your body's rent My body's broken, yours is bent Carve your name into my arm Instead of stressed, I lie here charmed 'Cause there's nothing else to do Every me and every you Sucker love, a box I choose No other box I choose to use Another love I would abuse No circumstances could excuse In the shape of things to come Too much poison come undone 'Cause there's nothing else to do Every me and every you Every me and every you Every me Sucker love is known to swing Prone to cling and waste these things Pucker up for heaven's sake There's never been so much at stake I serve my head up on a plate It's only comfort, calling late 'Cause there's nothing else to do Every me and every you Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me Like the naked leads the blind I know I'm selfish, I'm unkind Sucker love I always find Someone to bruise and leave behind All alone in space and time There's nothing here but what here's mine Something borrowed, something blue Every me and every you Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me Every me and every you Every me
I guess the song is about letting yourself go in some meaningless, hedonistic, selfish experiences, sometimes knowing that you might hurt somebody, but hey what are you gonna do, it is what it is, we both outlive our blue... I am not sure about that honestly...
@@lenkleodani The blue you mean? I imagine it must be the kind of blue the Beatles or Abba were referencing in some of their song, being sad about a lost love etc quite similar feeling of sadness like the old *blues* songs are all about.
I finally found it daaaaamn this was so loooong omg Heard this song when i was six in 2000-01 in F1 2000 for ps1 After all these years i finally found the name 10/10 song
Didn't the chorus give it away? I know it's titled the opposite way round to how he sings it but still should've been able to easily find it by typing that in on TH-cam. I also first heard it from F1 2000, I was a bit older but still very young really.
Bumped this so much when I first started skateboarding, 15 years later life has taken its toll but Im back to listen plus I got back into skating again. 😤👌🏾
i listened to this extremely heavily in the summer of 2000 after picking this CD up in a flea market... i got it bc i thought brian molko was hot and then... never left. i'm 39 next month; i wish i could go back...
I absolutely love this song! Ever since I first heard it, this masterpiece stuck with me. It is one of those songs I just sing hours after I listened to it and just singing it myself makes me happy. What an amazing song.
I discovered this song something like 15 years ago... with this song I laughed, i cried, i drank, i smoked, i fucked, i took drugs, i sang, i dreamed... This is a Masterpiece that i will probably listen for the rest of my life: Thank you Brian and Placebo for all those memories that i'll never forget!

Lucky you
Sucker love is heaven sent
You pucker up, our passion's spent
My heart's a tart, your body's rent
My body's broken, yours is bent
Carve your name into my arm
Instead of stressed, I lie here charmed
'Cause there's nothing else to do
Every me and every you
Sucker love, a box I choose
No other box I choose to use
Another love I would abuse
No circumstances could excuse
In the shape of things to come
Too much poison come undone
'Cause there's nothing else to do
Every me and every you
Every me and every you
Every me
Sucker love is known to swing
Prone to cling and waste these things
Pucker up for heaven's sake
There's never been so much at stake
I serve my head up on a plate
It's only comfort, calling late
'Cause there's nothing else to do
Every me and every you
Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
Every me
Like the naked leads the blind
I know I'm selfish, I'm unkind
Sucker love I always find
Someone to bruise and leave behind
All alone in space and time
There's nothing here but what here's mine
Something borrowed, something blue
Every me and every you
Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
Every me
Every me and every you
