I think the most important form of pvp is all the above. World pvp. Battlegrounds and arena need more focusing on like more maps, more world pvp content events etc.
I remember Bm Hunter ranked a bit higher in 2007 when i played SL/SL lock it was one of the few things that could disrupt my gameplay, due to the high burst and fear immunity when they use their big cd. Depends on point of view ofc, but a shadow priest and frost mage are both no match vs a lock. Ah well, people will see soon. BTW, fire mages are stronger in duels than frost mage its less predictable and more bursty, problem is they go oom quickly in pvp gear, not recommend for arena/bgs. But i think in general it comes down to who has the best spamable cc and who is immune against them.
World PvP is about chaotic fun (I like it the best) Battlegrounds can be extremely fun or extremely frustrating, when you get balanced comps its very rewarding. Arena is about 2/3 player coordination, the most coordinated synched teams win. This is the top tier of pvp. Having said all this, i still think world pvp is the most fun, unpredictable is what I enjoy... World pvp is like a box of chocolates.... u never know !
Did you play clssic wow phase 2 ? Wpvp is a 10v1 ganking fest. The only winners are mages that get all the honor in zerg fest and rogues that get easy solo kills camping high trafic areas. Also be informed that aside from phase 2 of classic wow, wpvp is effectively dead.

U don't get ganked and zerged and fights are usually depended on skill and not on how much gold/consumables u're willing to spend in a random open world fight. BGS come second, they can be really fun and they could be first but i am sure that premades will suck out the fun of bgs like they did in vanila. Open world pvp comes last for many reasons.. There's not enough control over it, not every hour is the same, sometimes u just want to do something and u're cought in an unwanted situation and that can be exhausting if it happens repeatedly for years. Consumable usage to an extent that its just not worth the gold to kill that person just for a 30 second spirit walk. Getting ganked in situations that its nearly impossible to turn it around cus u might be oom from farming mobs or maybe 2-3 mobs attack u and then u are also getting ganked. Getting zerged is the same idea... nothing u can do when 3-4 players suddenly zerg u when u're on a mob. World pvp does have it's place though and the idea of it is really cool and neccesary, just not on MEGA servers. Duels are not even worth talking about since they are 100% unbalanced, unirrelevant and boring. Every can enjoy a couple of duels once in a while but imagine duels being ur number 1 form of pvp entertainment... sounds really bad.
BM hunters beat pretty much everything 1v1 as long as they got bestial wrath up. 20 sec of CC immunity for both you and ur pet as well as 50% extra dmg on ur pet pretty much dominates everything, as well as having intimidation and feign death for casters. Rogues cant run or stealth cause of flare and wing clip, conc shot, mages rely on freezes for DMG and cant use them during BW, locks will just die to the damage race, and druids will just die as soon as they are out of bear form into an intimidation
i definitely think duels and world pvp are the most fun, however the game being balanced around arenas/bgs would make more sense to me, as some classes are supposed to be there to enhance/support others.
Well arena is the competitive side of wow so it's normal to be tryhard. I personaly prefer wpvp encounters much more than bgs tho feels much more organic and like an mmo to me.
They don't have the defensive toolkit a mage or warlock has and no way to heal themselves. Rogues have enough damage to take them down with 2 stun locks, which they can easily achieve now that they have cloak of shadows. Maybe they will be able to take on shamans? Unless they get frost shocked, of course. Because then they will never get out of that frost shock. For as far as I remember, hunters only has a silence/interrupt if they go MM and no way to dispel the enemy. So most enemies will be able to spam heal. Making kiting the only way to outlast an opponent. They will probably have a good time against warriors though. :)
@@sfp2290 You misremember much. Rogues can stunlock to death only at the begining of expansion since nobody has any resilence on their gear. Frostshock is weaker than wing clip + freeze/frost traps. Hunters dispel enemies with just arcane shot (added effect in TBC). Deadzone is gone as well, so good chance against mages. Viper sting will make anybody who just wants to stand and spam their heal to change their mind. The only class hunter is bad against is Warlock. They have good damage and plenty of CC/Kite abilities. Since the video was about solo pvp, then hunter is very strong in world pvp / bg's. Unfortunately requires more than average skill to play arena and only in drain composition.
It's the same video about Arena tierlist. But this time it's bullshit video😂. For example mage in 1 vs 1 situations and open world. Any mage specc lose vs my elemental shaman. I beat every 1 mage at open world or duells. The only change for mage is to run away. No matter what. Same vs rogues if he not first strike and play 100% right or I resist 1 stun as ork,it will be done for him. And it's much more situations at open world and 1 vs 1,with other classes. Arena/battleground are not duells and open world
Which class would you say is the hardest to get away from in world pvp? I would think druid because of their speed and snares, or mages for the same reason. I guess hunters as well because they can snare on the move and have good speed with cheetah, and in BM they dont need to put themselves in a position to be CCd while still being able to get damage uptime with their pet, plus dots to stop stealth and keep damage uptime on people who are pillar humping
Was POM Mage during Vanilla TBC. Went rogue this time and let me say, open world shit has been damn fun. I got in an extended spat with a lock in Hellfire Peninsula killing him a ton as he kept trying to get revenge and he would get me with dots after he died. Good stuff!
I enjoy wpvp the most but I also enjoy arena a lot. New expansions opening used to be my favorite time for the massive wpvp. The implementation of warmode ruined this.
Battlegrounds and world pvp (duels) are the most fun things in wow for pvp... , the real skills are in duels not arena ... this is in my opinion, arena is more about combo you have after that comes the skill amd after... luck ! The duel show how well you master a class în my opinion !

not really. Bgs have imbalanced classes just like arenas (look how broken frost mage is in classic wsg). Wpvp CAN be fun but most of the time its 5 people teaming up on a single target. Also, it's pretty much dead after phase 2 of classic.

For Warriors, it really helps being a night elf! If you can deny the enemy caster's opener with Shadowmelt, you can Charge + Rend to keep them chained to you. And with the use of denial abilities like Pummel, Intercept, Berserker Rage and you PvP Trinket, you can often kill classes like Druids or Warlocks before they can regain the upper hand. Also, in Battlegrounds, always stick to the biggest group of allies (and enemies) - the more chaos, the more chances to deal damage. You are also a nice meat shield for squishy casters like Hunters and Fire Mages who prefer to stand still and unleash bursts of damage! So, while they are the worst class in Open World and Duels (and on the lower half of Battlegrounds too), it is not impossible to thrive when played well!
I feel that world pvp is the best representation of the true pvp experience. No limitation fight to the death. Group combat ,1v1, level gap scenarios, you can still get in bgs but wpvp is as organized or chaotic as you choose. Only thing arena provides is a reward for being last man standing. Dueling is essential for practicing match ups to better prepare for situations in other pvp settings
World pvp will always be the truest form of pvp, to me at least. I just wished Blizzard focused more on it instead of trying to push esport-esque arenas.

The dead zone is able to be abused. Dead zone definitely reduces their effectiveness
