Great to see you back, been lurking in shadows enjoying your videos and finally subscribed. Had an XJS Lister 7.0 recently with bad injectors, of course they weren’t the stock 19lb injectors but instead 30lb injectors from a Volvo Turbo Redblock I’m guessing Lister modified to fit the rail. They were junk after 30+ years so I modified a set of refurbished 30lb 4 hole injectors from a Supercharged 3800 Buick to fit and she’s running like a champ again.
Glad to see you back. I don't think even the updated ePTFE thermostat gaskets would have fixed that issue, but I do wonder about creating a TPU O-Ringed steel shim gasket, or a cast silicone ring on a shim (like on a modern car). - Yeah, probably more of a DIY thing than something workable for professional maintenance routines but...
Welcome back, excellent video. I’m learning all the time. I’ve a late Jaguar XJ 6.0 V12 that I’ll be rebuilding it’s the last version with no distributor and Denso EFI. If you have an opportunity to feature one of these in a future video it would be very helpful. Best wishes Nick
Now you've got me nervous about my fuel rail as I finish up installation of the Mobeck EFI kit. I electroplated the fuel rail, and while I think the inside was pretty clean, you just never know if it's truly clean enough.
@@thecampchaoschronicles9567 I plated it myself, hence the concern, haha. I cleaned it as well as I could and visually inspected what I could see. We'll see. Either way, this was helpful because now if I do have some problem like this, I'll have this in the back of my mind as a possible cause.
Good to see you're back. I've learned a lot from them. Don't know if you follow Bring a Trailer but there's a 30,000 mile 94 xjs that just came up. Aux fan wired hot. Running photo of the instrument cluster shows low voltage and temp up against the red. Seller claims it came to normal after it ran for a while. Does this tie back to your oil cooler tutorial or maybe poor cooling system maintenance?
Hey Bob, Nice video. Do you have an oscilloscope? Try testing the 3 injectors on your bench test setup and check the patterns compared to one of the known good injectors. There are some resources for injector patterns out there.
Good to see the goings on at Camp Caos again!

When they plate the rail, they do a very good job of cleaning it.

Probably not an oil cooling issue if its run normally.
