    Amazing - thanks for the great video! This is exactly what I was looking for, a solid summary of how to get into the VR driving, much appreciated! Also, small tip - I haven't tried it, but I keep hearing that a small fan blowing air gently from the front helps to reduce motion sickness for some reason. I haven't tried it, but it might be worth giving it a go if you're susceptible to that. Can't wait to get started, thanks again!

      Thank you so much for the comment James, really made my day! F1 22 has been a major disappointment for me. With a rtx 3080 I could choose between crappy performance or a blurry picture with dlss. The issue is addressed from day one in a large thread on the ea help forum, but ea has not even confirmed looking into it. I deeply regret to have spent my money on this one. Yeah I was expecting more from it too, I'm on a 3070 and got it to work and look decent, but it required a lot of tweaking both in game and in the Oculus app and/or SteamVR. Now it works decent, but yeah, the quality could definitely be better. I mean Assetto Corsa looks way better than F1 and it's a game released in 2014 ffs 🤣

    • @VRManCave
      @VRManCave  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much man! ❤️ I’ve looked at bucket seats too but even though it’s supposedly the ideal position for racing, bucket seats are designed the way they are to help the driver while experiencing high g-forces. Since in sim racing there are no forces except for the wheel, I preferred an actual car seat due to the high adjustability. Also, depending on your size and VR headset, you might have trouble with the back of your headset hitting the chair, while with regular seats you can adjust everything including the headrest. Hope that helps!

    • @VRManCave
      @VRManCave  ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question Jennifer! I made sure the seat also had the sliding rails on it, which is how the seat is fixed in a real car as well. If you slide the chair all the way back on the rails, you’ll see it will have a hole you can go through to attach it to your rig. Just make sure the heads of the bolts you are using don’t stick out too much, as it may block the sliding mechanism. You then do the same for the back part of the rails by sliding the seat fully forward and using the same type of bolt and t-nut as in the front to fix it in place. Hope that helps, mine has been solid so far and it didn’t require any retightening at all. Thanks so much for watching and for the comment! ❤️

    • @VRManCave
      @VRManCave  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m happy to try and help, cause yeah, VR can be confusing at first. To answer your question, yes, you can use any of the accessories you would normally use with your PC. Specifically when it comes to PCVR, think of your VR headset as an alternative to your monitor. Everything else like keyboard, mouse, racing wheel, headphones, etc will work as usual, you’ll just be viewing the supported games in the VR headset with the added benefit of being in the driver’s seat, being able to look around, etc, instead of viewing everything on a flat surface, aka a monitor.

    • @VRManCave
      @VRManCave  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's honestly hard to compare. I have a 3070 and while it definitely won't be as sharp as monitors, it's 1000X more immersive. I know people tend to compare the two options, but realistically, they're very different. One prioritizes visual quality, while the other increases immersion dramatically. For me personally, I simrace both in VR and on my 43" OLED that's in my rig. Also, if you don't have a strict preference for the game, I can highly highly recommend Gran Turismo 7 on PS5 using the PSVR2, it's a marvelous experience and guaranteed to run properly. I have a PSVR2 review on the channel where I talk about it in more detail if you wanna check it out. Hope that helps!

    One random day a couple of years ago, something in my head clicked and I thought "enough with arcade racing games, let's try the polar opposite and try a realistic sim". Back then I only had a gamepad and I bought Assetto Corsa. I hated it and it was truly annoying to play on a gamepad, nothing like NFS or FOrza. But instead of refunding it, I saw the potential in AC and decided to give it a real try, and ordered a G29 wheel. I loved it even more after that. So I ordered a Quest 2 VR headset. I loved it even more after that, so I ordered a sim rig so my pedals and seat stop moving around all the time while racing, and here I am today. I've become one of "those" gamers with a full sim rig and I can honestly say AC in VR is the most exhilarating and fun racing I've ever experience on a computer or console, and I've been gaming since Pong on the Atari. it's crazy that AC ultimate edition goes on sale for under $8 every few months. So glad I stumbled upon it and followed my instincts. It's made me a better driver irl and I learned how to drift from scratch, learned what things like over steer, under steer, trail braking, counter steering, all mean and how the physics of a car works. It's like a automotive journey playing AC that teaches me more about how cars work, not just driving fast and coming first in a race like an arcade game

      I have not tried Automoilista. Is it included in one of your racing sim reviews?

    How many fps in vr?

      Not sure what you mean. Are you asking how many fps do I get? Or what the ideal is? Well, I generally aim for at least 90fps, but depending on your comfort level with VR, there are people who play at 72fps, and others who use 120fps. The most important thing is that you get stable fps.

    How tf are paddles shifters harder to get at than an H pattern? makes no sense

    • @VRManCave
      @VRManCave  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Simple: Your hands rotate around the wheel and at certain angles it's difficult to hit the paddles, whereas the H pattern is always in the exact same spot.

    How much did this all cost you

      Currently working on an updated video as I’ve upgraded a few things since. But the stuff in this video, around 600 for the cockpit and 400 for the wheel and pedals. The shifter about 100, and handbrake about 200 if I remember correctly. There are links to everything in the description.

    vr is terrible, it looks dark and blurry even on a great machine… these tv images shown in the video do not match the vr image … my experience was very bad … pico 4 … meta 2 pc 3080 i9 13

      Sad to hear that was your experience. The Pico 4 is known to be fairly dim compared to other headsets, but my Quest 2 and Quest Pro look absolutely fine and I would not turn the brightness higher even if I had the option to. Is it just racing games where you feel it’s too dark or every VR game in general? For the blurriness it’s something you can easily fix my increasing the bitrate, and for headsets with pancake lenses instead of fresnel, that takes it to about 70-80% of the clarity of my 1440p monitor.
