I've seen many who attempt to create tabletop games for gunpla and the likes. Yours is probably among the easiest to understand while not being overly simplistic. I believe many people will find this as a good base mechanic to further iterate on in the future.
I really appreciate that this tabletop is not strictly for gunpla but for 30 mm kits as well. Thank you so much for making this guide 🙏
When it comes to Mecha tabletop, I've always been a big fan of more crunchier and tactical games (Battletech and even Mobile Suit Skirmish for Gunpla), but I will always appreciate and come back to simple but fun games such as this. The last ruleset I tried for Gunpla had very strabge mivement mechanics, so I might consider this instead
Lost it at John Darksoul HAHAHAH we should play some time man would love to build a community like this

Have you started playing Mecha Bardagulan Tabletop? What are your initial impressions and thoughts?
We’re still hard at work creating some gameplay videos, but I hope you guys have started trying it out.
I'm looking forward to watching some real battle with these mechanics. I just got into gunpla and would really like to try this someday, this actually makes me want to customize my own gunpla
Your gunpla posing is amazing
That pretty neat not gonna lie we might not have gundam build series of immersion irl but beginning by making it into a tabletop wargame is a smart idea

You deserve more likes and subs. Good content!
We appreciate that! Thank you 😊
I didn’t know this was a thing! I’ve seen a few episodes of Gundam Build Fighters but I didn’t know people actually did this! I was talking with my sibling this week about how cool it’d be if there was a tabletop and how surprised I was that there apparently wasn’t one already, glad to be wrong lol this is awesome ✨
Edit: I wrote my comment too early and didn’t realize you in fact made this. Even cooler ✨✨✨
The day before yesterday I got my gundam order. Now I got this recommendation. Let’s fucking go!

Im actually working on a tabletop Gundam SD game myself called Gundam garden with 12 sided dice and a roster of 12 SD Gundam and some plastic buildings, data sheets too! This is cool!
Fun fact: Mecha Bardagulan started out as a tabletop game for SD Gundam World Heroes. Hope your project takes off too!
This is really well made 👌

The distance for when moving using inches is like Warhammer 40K tabletop game, really interesting.
Guess instead of making dioramas, I could potentially play like this.
The upshot is that if you can make realistic terrain boards, you can do both.
@@Brawler_1337 EXACTLY! Making a full realistic terrain board with buildings as cover and some kind of high ground for extra sniper's shot.
@@Kollf0007 Or even natural terrain. Perhaps something like the Great Canyon map or the Odessa map in Federation vs Zeon/Gundam vs Zeta Gundam.

@@Brawler_1337 Yeah, but I feel like making a space terrain more.
But we need like wrecked spacecrafts and floating meteors as cover the units.
I also have a rule in mind If playing in a space terrain - All units must be equiped with jets booster (either on arms or legs) or jetpack to be able to move around space just like in the series.
Many have tried...Will this be the gunplay tt that sticks? FIND OUT NEXT TIME, ON DRAGO- you get it.
Only time will tell. 😁
I was looking for a simple game that I can play with family and friends but didn't find it, so we made Mecha Bardagulan.
@@DinoSerr the combat rolls are kind of complicated. There is another one out there that’s similar. They’ve even made stat sheets for a bunch of different MS. Mobile Suit Skirmish is believed it’s called.
I see, may I ask which part? I think I've heard about that before. Since gunpla is freedom, one of Mecha Bardagulan's core values is letting players have control of how they want to play the game. As such, I think what sets it apart from others is that you don't have to wait for us to release a datasheet for your mecha -- You can do it yourself.
This does not mean that we're not going to share some builds. You can check the Sample Datasheets PDF for that as we're going to continue to update it.
Reminds me of Front Mission games on the PS1/PS2 when you talk about twrrain/covers/heights and distance... Good idea man. But why not just play the recent Gundam Breaker 4?
I am! But this is for when I want some time off the screen. Also some bonding time with family/friends. Thought it was a good idea to share.
I dont get it 😂
Im more on hands on kinda thing.. I need to see first you know hahaha
I get it. We're preparing a battle report where you'll be able to see the game in action. Also not sure where you are physically located but we plan on having demos at tabletop gaming cafes.
That said, don't be afraid to try the full rules! We made it in a way that it should be simple to setup and play, but if you have feedback or questions please let us know @ facebook.com/groups/mechabardagulantabletop
Interesting. I was introduced to Mobile Suit Skirmish first, which is quite lore friendly and much more like Battletech in terms of rules, but it can be complicated, slow, and not balanced the best. Perhaps this would be an easier system to teach. I’ll add it to my repertoire.
Any rules for armies?
Thanks! When making the game, our goal was to make it as accessible as possible.
In terms of army rules, the maximum we have played so far is both sides having 3 players each with 1 unit. Each unit gets 1 CP every turn, but i think it can go beyond that.
If you have any feedback or suggestions please let me know!
@@DinoSerr Sweet! I’ll bring this up with some friends and maybe do some testing.
I was doing the same thing with Gundam artifact but they lack action pose. I put a hold on to the project due to no one play with me in my family. After seeing your idea I would try again with others.
John Dark Souls solos gundamverse
Cool ass concept
Also, a knockback for large weapons like gundam barbatos lupus rex mace
Wouldn’t that make meleeing them again harder? With barbatos being a CQC and all 😅
Definitely need to clean my gplas😅 thnx 4 the reminder
No problem 👍😁
it's all fun and games until someone shows up with a NEXT.
I guess if you want lore accuracy this game is best played with mass production machines. Otherwise things will get out of hand real quick.
That's the beauty of it, I guess. If you want to play with grunts vs. grunts you can. If you want to play which gudnam/robot is better in 1v1 you also can. There are tons of possibilities and I don't want to dictate too strictly how people should play the game.
tried convincing some of my friends who are into gunpla using another rule sytem , MS Skirmish, but they don't seem that interested.
I appreciate that! As they say: "Different strokes for different folks". If you guys are already happy with what you're playing then that means you found the game system for you. We're not here to compete with other systems.
I was looking for a simple game that I can play with family and friends but didn't find it, so we made Mecha Bardagulan.
@@DinoSerr I meant that they don't want to bring out their gunpla for either systems sir. So much tabletop fun un-realized.
Aw that's too bad. Oh the fun they're missing out on. Hope you find someone to play with soon!
@@DinoSerr Bandai should definitely create a tabletop game dept or something.. the potential for Gunpla is near limitless.
Which country do u guys play this?
If someone would play an hg (on an re 1/100) NOGHTINGALE surely must uses a forklift to move it.
How about combining gunpla with RC controls + drone system with cameras?? This could be closer to LBE (Little Battle Experience). Cockpits are already in market so why not?
Interesting.
If you have some macross or dougram models, you can play with it if it fits in a bt hexgrid.
Yep! Your imagination is the limit here.
@@DinoSerr no I meant you can play battletech because a lot of battletech models were stolen from mecha anime and battletech has proxy rules meaning anything with a front sides and back can proxy a mech. But then battletech is battletech. The game is 90% tables and 5% math.
hey i saw you on reddit
This sounds great, but could this be worked into using Discord and replacing movement with attack speed. Like heavy armor has to atk last, normal armor has to flip a coin if paired against a normal armor to see who atks first, and light armor has first strike (or atks first due to its armor type)?
That sounds really cool. I don't think I'll be able to do it myself, but you should go for it if you're interested. Just credit me if you're going to use my work as a base. :)
bro just reinvented 40k
I wish! But thank you for your comment, I appreciate that man
40k if it wasnt fucking miserable to play
This looks interesting~ where do you guys usually play ?
We're starting to see more cafes where you can play in my area so mostly in places like those, but anywhere really with tables as small as 22x30 inches or better 4ft by 2ft.
How do u determine shooting quality and fighting quality? Do we base it on the show or just how we feel or think
Currently, we have 3 expertise you can choose from:
1. Gunner: S3+, F5+
2. Balanced: S4+, F4+
3. Fighter: S5+, F3+
Base it on the in lore specifications of the machine.
The barbatos is melee based, while the RX-78-2 has a large arsenal of weapons, while the heavyarms is BEEG GUN
Big Proposal, what about you admin and excel sheet that is community driven with already made kits and parts
question, how do we determine everything for weapon stats?
The Create your Units PDF includes a list of all the weapons you can use. Have you taken a look at it?
facebook.com/groups/mechabardagulantabletop/files/files
How do I make a weapon stat for a weapon that’s both a blade and a gun
Each mode will take up one slot. So 1 slot for the gun mode and 1 slot for the blade mode.
Interesting! Could you please share the rules anywhere except Facebook? I cannot access it without an account.
I posted the link to the gdrive alternate link here in the comments, are you also unable to download it that way?
Will the rules will be posted anywhere else? They're unavailable on facebook right now.
Not at the moment but we're thinking about it. However, I just checked it. Files should be available to download @ facebook.com/groups/mechabardagulantabletop/files/files
Is there a way to play this in some form of squadron mode? (e.g. 3 mechas on each side)
In terms of squadron rules, the maximum we have played so far is both sides having 3 players each with 1 unit. Each unit gets 1 CP every turn, but i think it can go beyond that.
If you have any feedback, questions, or suggestions please let me know!
What about super robots? And robots with many arms, can they equip more weapons?
You can use Super Ribits. For those with many arms, there should be no problem, you can choose to fill up the 4 weapon/upgrade slots with all weapons if you want to.
*Super Robots, sorry!
di ko inexpect yung bardagulan. AHAHAHAHA
So Warhammer 40k Kill Team?
I see you have a lot of 30 minutes missions kits, have you tried the 30 mm wargame by Aries Tabletop Models?
@@gabrielesambin2241 I haven't tried that. Thanks for the suggestion though!
Just to share, I made Mecha Bardagulan to get people to try playing a tabletop game using the figures that they have in an easy-to-learn manner. With quick games that only take about 30 minutes to an hour.
How special skills will work and how to do the stat sheet for them? For example the mega laser... What about transformable gundam that goes into waveride?
If it were me I'd probably build it this way:
Fast, Gunner
1.) 2 CP "Mega Laser" [Big Cannon/Magic] (B, 2H, 3 to 14", A1, AP1, D6-2)
- Ignore Guard react and Shields
- Overcharge: Pay 1 CP, ignore terrain when firing this weapon. Destroy Low Cover and/or Obscuring terrains hit by this.
2.) [Transformable] Unit will gain +3” Move, but can only use 2 slots of weapons/skills when transformed.
with the 3rd and 4th slot comprising of other weapons/upgrades you want to take.
Kailangan cguro ng templates, for stat boosting, hacking/control, transforming, etc. tapos adjust na lng o kung medyo mataas sa given na threshold jan papasok ang timer (for 1-2 turns only).
Pero siguro within a group, you can just come up with what's or how to balance a superweapon.
@@Andrea-xw8fw Have you seen the full rules and weapons/upgrades?
Where did you get those building miniatures??
iirc these were from ttcombat
so... heavy suits can only be damaged on average by a gunners ap. a fighter needs a roll of 5+ and a balanced needs an average roll of 6 (on a d6). so, then, the only unit you want to use is heavy gunner; because, its the only unit that would have the survival and power needed to win.
... am i understanding that correctly? its really late, and im tired, so i might not be. ^~^;
Have you looked at the weapon options? There are a lot of ways to take down Heavy Gunners. Please let me know if you still have questions after checking.
How do u determine the capacity of a weapon
What do you mean? Can you elaborate? Thanks
@@DinoSerr never mind, you already provided me a data sheet on fb 😅
I believe i have like 7-8 gunpla mechs and i could determine they're mostly normal and fast types.
Quick question: lets say i have a mech that has wings (ex: freedom gundam and impulse gundam), does that belong to the fast type category?
It's up to you. You don't need to accurately portray every feature of the model. Or you could come up with a mechanic that lets you change between normal and fast/flight mode.
Cool!
Your Freedom/Impulse can be Fast, Normal, or Heavy depending on how you want to play, but what's important is you have to take the [Flight Unit] equipment
@@rizekcajk3410 You're correct. Thanks for that!
As for the mechanic to change between classifications, we've thought about that but have decided not to include something like that in the game for now.
Does anyone know where to get Plavsky Particles? 😂
i did wanna ask, how does this work for squad based, i understand the need to simplefy but are there options to set suits apart a bit?
The max. we have played so far is both sides having 3 players each with 1 unit. Each unit gets 1 CP every turn.
We'll add more weapons in the future, but at the moment those available now should still provide some diversity. Have you seen the full list of weapons/upgrades? Let me know what you think.
Thanks @zorgfleeter!
@@DinoSerr oh yeah i have then downloaded. But i meant like what would you put the dobergun as? And the leo has a shield not held by its hands does it still count or do we only count handheld shields?
You could do it this way:
2 CP "Dobergun" [B. Magnum] (B, 3 to 10", A1, AP2, D6-2)
Overcharge: Pay 1 CP, ignore terrain when firing this weapon. Destroy Low Cover and/or Obscuring terrains hit by this.
@@zorgfleeter Leo's shield is still counted and will fill up one of the four slots.
@@zorgfleeter if it were me, this would be my Tallgeese's loadout:
1. Flight unit (takes up 2 slots)
2. B. Saber
3. B. Magnum (Dobergun)
Alternatively you can swap one to equip a Shield. It's up to you, really.
Did you also make a Godzilla board game?
No, it's a different person 🙂
