    What a smooth running engine...

Lasers always have their own sound, I like this one. The twins are aggressive sounding but this is different, quite smooth

I like that test mount, what brand or type is it? I take it it's universal or adjustable for different engines. I'm interested in getting something like that myself, but I've also got twins with radial mounts so probably just use a ply backing board for those

The more i see the more i suspect the engine has been badly overheated at some point in its life. When that happens repeatedly the head bolts will come loose and then the cylinder barrel can move while the engine is running. This has likely damaged the mating surfaces which is causing the leak. I can repair it, but i would need the engine back here at the factory.
Certainly the engine runs better without the exhaust, but it still seems like its labouring and really is not running as it should. I thought i could see end float in the carb, which also will not be helping. If you have one and have the time i would like to know how a 14x7 apc performs as this is my benchmark prop for the engine.
I still believe the engine is far from dead, but it is going to need some work to get it back where it should be

What things would need to be replaced in the event of it being run hot? It sounds like it is more money than it is worth to repair quite honestly.

In the case of an overheat usually the rings loose their tension and the head comes loose. As your engine has loads of compression we can consider the rings ok so its just a case of making sure the mating surfaces for the head/cylinder are smooth and thats about it. The exhaust and carb are basically a symptom of age, but the glow plug leak is a very strange one as i have not seen that before

That run seems about ok for 0% nitro and a 2-stroke plug. The carb might be a little worn or damaged during the past. I am curious what will happen to my Laser 150 when I fly the engine for some time. This engine has the same carb like your Laser 100 and it experienced a "hard landing" I suppose. Unfortunately it is not possible to disassemble these carburetors. I would like to see another final run of your engine using the new prop, a 4-stroke plug and 10% nitro fuel.

The Enya #3 is most commonly a 4 stroke plug. That is the plug provided with all Enya 4 stroke engines. I can do a run video of this with 10% fuel. I figured after 7 videos folks might be sick of seeing this engine.

They work very well and I use Enya 3 plugs in 4-stroke engines including Lasers. OS "F" can help if you need the idle extremely low but is not necessary. I was hoping we can start something like "the lowest 1 Minute idle rpm" competition with the Laser engines. ;)

It seemed to idle better with the OS F plug for sure. I don't have any NEW F plugs but I have a few that should be serviceable. I also have some Cool Power MV 4 stroke fuel. 15% nitro, 18% all synthetic oil. Maybe that would be good.

Cool Power 15% Nitro and an OS F plug would be very interesting.
Maybe lower max rpm...but also lower idle rpm.

The weather seems ok tomorrow to go out, Fly and make some bench Tests. I don't know if more than 10% nitro are ok since Laser recommends "up to 10%". I have some Simprop Supaglo 16 with similar oil and nitro content to test. If I find the time my Laser 70 is going to taste that fuel.

I watched the video again, watch the exhaust at full throttle, it smokes on and off at full throttle, indicating an air leak somewhere

Sorry it didn't work out. I know you were looking forward to this.

to find out just how far off your engine is you should test it against the Saito 100, the Saito will turn a 15x6 Zinger Pro at 9200 on 10%, see my link. BTW, if you want to unload the Laser maybe I will buy it, send me a price.

I have no idea who you are and I sure as hell am not selling my Laser engine to you.

3:40, oil going out form the bottom of cylinder, weird.

There is no seal between lower cylinder and crankcase. I would consider that as normal if no sealant was applied during assembly.
