    Great info. Tasty looking figs. Where are you located in south georgia? How can I go to get some fig plants from you or cuttings. Thank you

    Wow beautiful figs! I am growing 8 celeste fig trees in the ground. Any tips on pruning fig trees near the property line to be flat and wide for privacy? They're about 3 ft from the property line and I'd like to make it wide like your mini one your just showed.

    • @southgeorgiafigs3991
      @southgeorgiafigs3991  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi and yes I can help you with that NovaPrincess, I recommend pruning the top and upwardly growing branches of your trees as evenly as possible, this will cause your trees to grow and spread in an outwardly direction. Bear in mind that your trees will produce less fruit this season as you will probably be pruning some of the fruit producing branches. Next season however your trees will produce heavily. Prune your trees annually to keep them at your desired height.

      Greetings N Molina and thanks for watching this video. The Celeste fig tree that this fig was taken from was grown from a cutting taken from a fig tree purchased at LOWE’S garden center that was tagged as “Common Celeste Fig” so honestly I’m not certain but the fruit are this color on the outside when at the peak of ripeness and have a rich almost red color on the inside.

      Yo Twitty, thanks for dropping in to watch this video bro, and thanks for doing business with me. Man they all had a great flavor and figs are so easy to grow and so nutritious, I’m experimenting with a few pomegranate cuttings now, you already got a pomegranate tree in your garden? If not I’ll send you one in a few weeks.

      Hi Bernie, they were delicious, I had been waiting on these few to ripen, had a about a dozen or so to ripen so far but the birds got to them before I had a chance to harvest them. I have a fig tree that I think will do well in your gardens that I want to send you if you would like, I was trying to decide what else to include in your package with the coleus plants. It’s a Berbera Preta fig tree that I recently propagated, you can keep it growing in a container if you don’t have ground space to plant it. Also do you have pineapple sage in your gardens? If not I have them in tiny pot size fully rooted and I’ll send you one of those as well.

    • @GardeningwithBernie
      @GardeningwithBernie 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are too good to me and I would definitely enjoy having whatever you want to send me. No I don’t have either of those items-fig or pineapple sage. Thank you

      Greetings Brett and thank you my friend, the Celeste is by far the easiest to propagate and fastest growing variety of fig that I have encountered so far, I will be taking many cuttings this fall/winter and will gladly send you a few if you’d like to try growing them there.
