Outstanding solo game which is a rare find for a racing game especially. The Great Britain map is a tonne of fun and I almost never win but still have a great time haha
I was very sceptical about racing (board) games (I owned none) but after I saw a playthrough I ordered it and now it's one of the best board games I have.
@@OneStopCoopShop absolutely love it as a solo experience. Came sooooo close to spinning off the track and only just won the first race by finishing closest to the race line... Great experience 👍
21:30 If you spin out, you have to proceed directly to step 9. So you don't actually get to discard (step 8) before drawing back up to 7. Spinning out is awful!
Thanks Mike, that was great fun to watch. Never really been much into Formula One and car racing, but it's love that the designers went to the 60s style of car, which is a great nostalgia fest for me. The likes of Sterling Moss, Jackie Stewart and Graham Hill being successful British drivers were boyhood heroes. So don't be down if you only came fourth to such top calibre opposition! lol Looking forward to the 5 in 5 to hear your thoughts on the game. Looks fun to me. Any road, may be off line after tomorrow so will take this opportunity to wish you and your family a Very Merry Christmas! 🎄🎅🏽🎄 ps Remember not to play Heat if you've been having a festive tipple! No drinking and driving! lol
Sometimes by adding 1 to the number you are actually making the AI cars travel less distance which is making them easier, if you really wanted to increase the difficulty you should have compared where -1, 0 and +1 would get them and move them to whichever is furthest. For example if you let blue have their 17 on the first turn, they would have been in the lead on the 0 spot and not on the 3 spot.
Sure, your way would take a little extra time but would ensure they move forward more consistently. I was just using the official difficulty modifier as printed in the rules.
Very enjoyable playthrough thanks Mike. I'm just wondering why you used the Clearing Corners (Mode A) Mode for the bot car movement throughout corners 6, 5 and 4 when each corner contains a Legend Line along with the set of diamonds beyond each corner? I'm quite confused about this. Because those lines and diamonds are there, shouldn't we instead be using the Approaching Corners (Mode b) throughout this stretch of twists and turns?
I’m not sure if I entirely understood your question, but for all the quick turns in the middle of the course the legend line is also the turn line for the previous turn. That means the legends always use clearing movement into each of these turns, since the second they pass one turn they will also have passed the legend line for the upcoming turn. Hope that answers your question!
Glad you liked it! I wanted to find a Eurobeat-ish song, something I could imagine them playing in Initial D (a famous racing anime, if you aren't familiar). The song is Ur Love, by Tomas Skyldeberg - th-cam.com/video/KWQVLoYQc60/w-d-xo.html
@@OneStopCoopShop It reminds me of a video game song and I love it! I can just imagine myself picking out a car or moding my car to this song. Thanks and thanks for the always great content on TH-cam!
So technically by the rules it would be 4 for each round of card selection (3+number of players, in this case 1). I find that's a little too OP, since already the AI can be a bit dumb, so I usually do 2 or 3 cards.
@@Jackthetattedone we played last night (3 humans, 3 AI), and one AI was in front of us for 2 laps, but my friend and I managed to get 1st and 2nd in the last few turns.

That’s awesome!
Finally got this game in a trade and it's soooooo good. Very entertaining playthrough, thanks!
What a phenomenal design for a racing game! This is crying out to be turned into a digital edition on Steam with a multiplayer lobby system.
I’d also love to see it on BGA (like Rallyman). Seems pretty likely since Asmodee owns both
Gotta say, I really appreciate your fantastic and contagious personality 👍🏻
Aw, thanks!
Right? Would love to play a game with Mike in person.
Love this game. I've already played it 12 times in the last two weeks.
Same here, more or less
And more and more and more!
where to buy this one😢
@@baymax0512 basically nowhere at the moment. It seems to have sold out quickly. But I am confident they are printing more as quickly as they can.
My copy just arrived and I intend to play it solo to begin with. Your video was really helpful and enjoyable to watch. Thank you very much.
Glad it was helpful!

Great video, my favorite racing game !
Quickly becoming mine too. Only Rallyman holds firm (I’m waiting on my Dirt pledge)
Great play. Lovely game. First time ive seen the solo though. Intriguing to watch

Merry Christmas to you as well!
6:36 I think that Blue would move to the "0" diamond by AI movement rule 1🥴
I think you are right!
Solo looks brutal
It’s brutal if you want to finish first every time, but getting in the top 3 consistently is doable

Looks a lot of fun. Doesn’t think it needs the difficulty bump!
Well it’s a racing game, so things can get swingy ;)
But yeah, I don’t necessarily win a lot

@@OneStopCoopShop That seems to make sense thanks Mike. It was mainly the diamonds being there and not being used for movement causing the confusion.

Any clue where to buy this in the states? Can't find any reputable links on BGG
I’m seeing the same. Not sure if most copies aren’t in the states yet, or if they sold out… but either way hopefully it’ll be easier to find soon
I got my copy from Miniaturemarket. They are sold out now but turn on the notification to jump on the next shipment. That's what I did :)
Check GameNerdz. I ordered mine couple days ago 👍🏾
It seems way too simple for me. The decision space is too small for me.
They’ve prioritized streamlined play for sure. There are crunchier racing games out there if you want something heavier :)
