Love your playthroughs. They've been great for learning new games. One question..can you use a power token designed for adjacent use on a single enemy and take the total attack on that one enemy?
You can place such tokens between an enemy card and an empty slot (like the far side of the enemy line) so that you only hit the one enemy. But the enemy will still only be hit by the effect once, you can’t double it because it’s only targeting one person
Just watching this video a new makes me want to play again, and I've played 11 times over the past couple of weeks. :) On a side note, I have misplayed the P tokens as dealing 1 laser to two enemies, instead of the 2x2 they do... LOL.
Warp's Edge has made its way back to my table again. Question on your playthrough: When you draw five tokens at 31:20, shouldn't you then add enemies to the row (in this case to the empty slots 2 and 4) as your next step instead of using tokens to take actions? It seems like you skipped a step. Thanks for posting this playthrough. Your enthusiasm is contaigous!
Colin - The penalty for enemy attack shield damage is permanent loss of one token per shield point lost and not one token per attack. The Starspike attack at ~32:20 should have resulted in a loss of two more tokens from your discard pool. Otherwise another great playthrough video. The Duo looks like a neat Mothership to go against.
Hi: question about buying tokens. When you buy a new token - The instructions say to discard your token for the new purchased one. It's not clear. Do you discard the spent token to the discard pile to use again to put back in the bag or does it go back into the tray/box? The instructions say to "discard"?? Thank you. Greg

You stunned the mother ships and moved those tokens to the top, and then added more to stun the next then, but the previous tokens were not removed. Can they stay up there past the next turn?
Ok, if you’re playing this right then no wonder I struggled so much… I was always 1 turn away from defeating the mothership but… - I didn’t add a yellow token to the starting bag - I didn’t draw a new skill card every warp - I played that you have to allocate the full manoeuvre value to stun with manoeuvres, and that it’s impossible to defeat with manoeuvres (not sure the way I did this is incorrect, I’ll have to check the rules)

I'm surprised at how deep this game is. It seems to play super quick, but with lots of situations where it makes sense to do unintuitive things, like buy weak tokens or take damage intentionally.
Colin, as always I appreciate your videos and energy. One mistake that no one caught in two years (gasp!) is that at 11:37, the Duo’s laser resistance is not yet in effect. You can see at 12:59 where you move the mothership marker to that effect. Oops, you did the same thing at 20:07. You could have avoided the loss of two shields. But after two years… 🤷🏼♂️ this only helps new viewers of the video. 😉

I'm pretty sad I missed the kickstarter (I've missed Mike's january playthrough), which was $50 for all instead of $95 that will cost me now, but in the same time I am happy that I am not missing the game itself and I found that gem. I at first thought "no I do not want this bagbuilder game and then I decided I want it. The action is fun and the moving the teens does not seem to feel fiddly and tedious as I had predicted it might be before watching the playthrough. Thanks.
Hey, got a question for you on this one: Was the expansion only available for backers? I look at it on BGG and it's just a blank listing, so I'm guessing it's not really out yet. Something tells me those tokens are going to be cardboard in the retail version, also. Ugh, I hate Kickstarters. They always do stuff like that. The game does look excellent though. You've sold me on it, for sure. Found it to buy, picked it up right away. Excellent video as usual. Actually I've never tried a bag-builder, now that I think about it so it should be an interesting experience.
From the Warp's Edge KS FAQ - "The Viren expansion, the playmat, and the plastic tokens will not be available in retail, with the exception of any retailers that back at the retailer level of this campaign. However, we will be selling these items at conventions and on our website for $20 each." The plastic tokens were a paid upgrade or part of the All In Pledge, not a stretch goal or 'free' bonus, during the campaign.

I'm not sure you can use a photon blast to attack a single enemy. It only gets placed on a single enemy after you place it on two and defeat one. Same with the overdrive token.
@@OneStopCoopShop Primarily because the rulebook specifically tells you to place it between two adjacent targets. It doesn't leave room to interpret it the way you dìd in my opinion. I haven't checked B.G.G.

One of my favorite solo games, and games at all right now. Have played probably 12 times. I win 20-25% of the time. I could not get anywhere with the ship you used in this video. I might try to try this mothership with it.
I’m REALLY hoping to get a kickstarter edition of this, or that all the add ons come to the renegade store. It looks like it plays similarly to Aeons End, just with bag building instead of deck building
Colin. Have you beat The Hydra? I have only played against The Dread until tonight. Tonight I played against The Hydra. I lost fairly fast. (Ha!) I really like this solo game. Great review. As another has already said ,you remove one token for each damage you take, and that is rough. I lost way too many and it cost me my first run through against the Hydra. Cheers.
One more item I don’t believe anyone caught: At 39:58, you discarded the Photon Blast because the Reaver discards all laser tokens. But that is a power token, not a laser token. Although it deals laser damage, it is not a laser *token*.
It would be nice if games just cost an extra couple of bucks and came with the "upgraded" components rather than just giving them to every youtuber to misrepresent the product.
I think I see what he meant here. At the 24:00 mark you actually should have taken a level 2 laser rather than a level 1 when you defeated the Spider with maneuvers.
He's right. It's step three of the Warp in tthe Gameplay Sequence on p 18 of the rulebook: refresh exhausted skill cards, draw two new skill cards and choose one to keep, and return the other to the bottom of the deck.

That all depends on the mothership you are fighting. Some you have to beat all the ships, others you can fight anytime

Viren is the easiest to skip. Still fun, don’t get me wrong, but it’s just some more stuff, no major new mechanics and big changes.

Yes, you're correct. Drawing enemies is the first step in the turn order.

This happened at 20:24 also… definitely changes the game as you have less tokens. Can mean the difference between and extra turn per warp or not

Oops typo. It seemed the stunned tokens stayed beyond one more turn. Should they have been removed?
From what I remember they stay just don't stun the enemy any more!
Tokens played to mothership sections remain until the end of the warp, just the same as when played on enemy cards.

Not sure on the expansion, but nothing on the Kickstarter page says it is exclusive, so I assume they will be selling it at some point!

There is one element that keeps me from buying this game. Combat is less a card/token game and more like a rock paper scissors game.

Just pick a new one every time. There is a story in the box you can follow along that can be a bit like a campaign!

I don't think you're suppose to draw a new skill card at the beginning of every Warp. The only ship that has that ability is the Hermes.
