What made the vent sequence genuinely scary is huggy’s animation and his speed. You’d expect someone as tall as him to have a really hard time being inside a vent but he’s really fast and watching how he does it just makes it even scarier

I can think of Dark Deception for anyone wanted to try other chasing horror games besides poppy. Might not be everyone’s cup of tea for being “Scary”, but it’s enjoyable and intense because of it’s lore and premise. Similar with poppy having to release each chapters, and gameplay with different sets of “superpowers” you earned from monsters you’ve encountered. I find it enjoyable for it’s abilities and monsters designs with their own unique mechanics and voice acting. The game is almost complete with few chapters left to reach the story’s climax

When I first played the game I didn't realize it was a Chase scene. I thought you had to slap him to death and spent 8 minutes to do so until I realized the door opens and just carelessly beat the first chapter
As I've watched different people play through this, I've come to admire just how well they paced things. They keep everything pretty mild for the first bit of gameplay, letting you get used to the mechanics without much stress. Then they throw in just enough tension to put you on edge for a while. After that they distract you with puzzles and a generally quiet section of gameplay, and just when you've started to be lulled into a false sense of security, you suddenly get launched into an intense chase sequence. Once you've escaped, they direct you right into the next section, your nerves now frayed, expecting more scares. But it never happens. They end the chapter before you have the chance to truly calm down, leaving you on edge. It leaves you shaken and wanting more. I can't wait for the next chapter.
"How could you give this doll to a child??" Muta clearly wasn't a little girl in the 80s. Some of the toys from back then were legit horrifying and I spent my nights in mortal terror.

This game has a lot of world building potential and I really like the mixed-media style with the vhs commercial. The place kind of reminds me of some eerie indoor playgrounds I used to see as a kid. And of course I'm a sucker for ominous mega structures.
In case you didn’t know, even Charlie got scared of this game Muta, and it doesn’t involve cockroaches, just goes to show how good this game actually is.
This was so much more enjoyable than Penguinz0's playthrough.. I love Charlie's channel, don't get me wrong, but it's hard for me to understand why you play a horror game if you don't even try to get immersed~ Mutahar did it "right" though!
I remember in either one of his deep web browsing or virus investigations he downloaded something that changes your entire system to some .exe shit, and for a second he got confused and thought he'd downloaded it on his main system instead of the VM, and he went wide eyed, silent and completely serious for a while, I actually felt fucking uncomfortable.

I gave 5$ to just support the devs. I really do believe Chapter 1 was a solid demo of what more chapters can be like. I think an understated additional level of horror in this is as huggy wuggy is falling and hitting the pipes it leaves behind bloodstains which further indicates it is a living creature, not just a possessed doll.
The genuine build up to the horror part is so genius. You know it’s a horror and you’re waiting for it and it just shocks you when you least expect it cause you’re so concentrated on the work. Genius
