    In this video, colorism in India is the topic addressed.
    I interviewed in Paris and Berlin two Indian women and asked about their perspectives and experiences regarding colorism.
    In my article, I explain the reasons why skin whitening is an established social practice in India and share the personal experience of Donna who bleached her skin for years :

    My brother tells me that I should to be put in washing machine. No one speaks for me they think it's normal and guess what it's even funny to them!!
    When I speak for myself they be like " It's just a joke stop being so sensitive. You really like creating fights out of nothing huh "

      True. But the ratio to man and woman is different. Times are changing and people are beginning to think brown/dark skin is attractive on men ONLY because they’ve associated it with masculinity, strength etc. But brown/dark skinned women are not being uplifted the same way. They still have to deal with dark skin being considered masculine on females too vs one with lighter skin which is considered more ‘delicate’, easy-going or clean. More often you will hear dark skinned men saying they’ll never be/don’t find attractive women of their same complexion or darker than them attractive. Despite their mothers being darkskin.

      @Bi Won you don’t know what you’re saying. Many Melanesians and aboriginal Australians don’t have a ‘black skin’ complexion but a brown one. Brown and black skin is no different from each other. Indians have brown and black skin complexions and so do indigenous Southeast Asians, Melanesians and aboriginal Australians.

    • @Midnight-og3rk
      @Midnight-og3rk 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Bi Won Don’t get rude you idiot! There are literally documentaries here on TH-cam you can see for yourself regarding different Melanesian people. Some are BROWN skinned and some are BLACK skinned. Papuans are an example of some who are black skinned whilst most Solomon Islanders are an example of those with brown skin and looser hair textures. I lived with MANY from the Solomon Islands and I see how they can range from brown-black skin. Yes I know papuans and some other Melanesians can pass for African, but they’re NOT. They are related to Asians- southern Chinese and old south Asians moreso than Africans. They carry carry various M haplogroups found in South Asia and Australia, and East Asian haplogroups like Q, C and O from mixing with the Asians around them etc. Dna does not lie, nor does the blatant eye. You’re way too emotional to even be on this channel aimed and educating and learning. Go and twerk your way out of this comment section.

    • @Midnight-og3rk
      @Midnight-og3rk 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Bi Won and Africans themselves can range in complexion. Nilo-Saharan’s such as those living in Sudan are some of the most blackest people on the face of the earth. Whilst, those in the horn are a mix of Nilo-Saharan, white berbers, southern Arabians and some have Khoisan admixture which is where they get their lighter skin and looser hair textures from. Educate yourself, dummy.

    • @Midnight-og3rk
      @Midnight-og3rk 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Bi Won Europeans are all pale, pink/white or yellowish. Southern Europeans/Mediterranean populations like Italians/Armenians etc mixed with brown and back Arabs in ancient times, that’s why some of these populations have SOME melanin. It’s also proven in their haplogroups they carry such as J12-3 etc, which is found in the Middle East. Also, populations in Eastern Europe mixed with Turkic/Mongolic people due to their invasions/expansions, so that’s why some Europeans have small eyes and yellowish skin. These NorthEast Asian groups still exist in parts of the caucus, Russian, Finland etc. Search it up!! See this is why you need to search up DNA because you don’t know sh*t. You also need a history lesson. You literally know nothing😂 and I’m giving you your answers by telling you to google the DNA haplogroups/genetic composition of these populations. They have a HISTORY of either invasion, intercontinental migration, voyaging/trading which led to their admixture. This is the same in Africa, excluding the west Africa, Asia, India, the Pacific and Europe. Google is free, use it!!

    I am an Indian man and I despise how dark-skinned people in India, especially the girls and women get made fun of and looked down upon for their dark skin. All skin colors are equally beautiful. Dark skin is beautiful. I encourage everyone to throw away all the skin-lightening creams if they have some. I also hate how India, in general, has very colorist beauty standards, considering light skin as the standard of beauty, and dark skin as dirty. Some people in India also think that if someone has dark skin, that person must be poor. We really need to get it together and love and respect each other regardless of skin color, and appreciate the beautiful diversity of shades and hues of skin color.

    Colorism and racism India does not go back to the British. But even further to the Aryans(Iranic and Eastern European mix) bringing the Caste system into India(mostly the North-western region) over the original brown and black skinned Dravidian speaking Indians. The British only divided and already-divided society. That is why they say India was the easiest to conquer and pillage since it’s people retained the caste system. And it still exists from today.

    I can really appreciate the angst and detrimental attitudes in India regarding skin color. Colorism is an irrational social construct, a byproduct of immature and infantile fascination with skin coloration when humans were in the earliest stages of human evolution. We lacked as a species to understand that skin color was a biological adaptation to environmental necessities for human survival in different UV-intensive Climate zones we settled in as different groups migrated across the face of the Earth beginning millions of years ago.
    As an Afro-American man born and raised in the Deep South of the USA, as soon as I entered 1st grade in a racially-segregated school I instinctively realized that there was this same irrational attachment to skin color, and social policies were devised to maintain a strict social order based on a color code in Jackson, Miss. in the 50's and 60's. It was strictly enforced and determined what privileges you had, and which privileges were denied, you according to your skin color. Black people I knew were so negatively impacted by the slur of having dark skin that many---men and women---felt a strong urge to try to lighten their skin. Those who tried the skin whiteners wound up with mottled complexions of uneven skin tones, and fortunately I felt no desire to do such.
    Humans have always been obsessed with how another group of humans looked, and the obvious sign of difference to a heavily visually-oriented creation judges 'friend or foe' first by the appearance of the 'Other' group. Since the time of the lighter-skinned , Aryans moving into a sub-tropical zone of India and encountering the indigenous dark-skinned Dravidians decided to create a social hierarchy with skin color and one's ancestry as markers as to your position in society and what opportunities would be afforded you. It corrupted the Message of Krishna---Being a Messenger of God to humanity in that part of the world, He certainly would not have approved of the man-made social arrangements of His tome nor of the colorism that would subsume all of India.
    Fortunately, Religion was renewed again most recently in 1844 and again in 1863 with the twin-Revelations of one called "The Bab", and again by one whose title is 'Baha'u'llah'. Both of the twin Manifestations have come to refute theologically and in practice the fallacies such as Caste, Colorism, Racialism---and all other negative irrational, ungodly "ism's ".
    Baha'u'llah enjoins on all humans in this Day and Age to abandon the ancient and fallacious doctrines fabricated by the minds of immature humans in past epochs of an ever-evolving Human Evolution trajectory towards the awareness and implementation of the long-hidden reality of "The Oneness of Humanity".
    Skin color has no correlation whatsoever with the spiritual qualities of a human being. Qualities which God gifted to ALL humans in equal measure, and also gifted to us the same intellectual potential and wiring of the brain. the soul is the essence of all humans, and skin color is only an inessential element of what it means to be humans, a biological response to the intensity of UV radiation depending on what climate zone a group of humans settled in and had their skin biology modified to protect against(or allow more absorption of) certain certain frequencies of that UV radiation. Sub-Saharan Africans required dark skin to both protect against skin cancer in high UV climate regimes and serve as protection against damage to sperm cells and to women's reproductive processes to allow for reproduction. Those Africans who migrated out of the original homeland in southeast Africa into the higher latitudes had to have their skin color lighten to allow for more UV penetration of 'friendly' UV frequencies needed for Vitamin D production in climate zones of weaker UV occurrence, since protection against skin cancer and damage to reproductive organs was not an issue.

    Colorism is a world wide problem in just about every culture on earth.. Having dark skin is not a curse if anything with global warming literally causing extreme hot weather conditions all over the planet you should feel lucky if you naturally have some form of (protective) melanin in your skin because its gonna keep you from immediately burning up from the sun because whether we like it or not the planet is heating up FAST, and those who are extremely fair skinned are gonna have to be even more careful moving forward because fair skinned people can't withstand the sun for too long without sunscreen now as it is. If the planet keeps going at the rate its going one day some years from now your gonna see Fair skinned people lined up to get melanin shots to help protect them from the rays because the shots make your body produce the melanin that it would normally produce if it was a naturally dark skinned person, and sunscreen can only do so much hence is why you need to keep reapplying it constantly if your Fair skin out in the sun , something alot of Dark Skin people have zero experience with because they don't have to worry about immediately burning after 10 - 15 mins of direct sun light so they typically don't need to or ever slather themselves with sunscreen. Being fair skinned in the middle of climate change is more of a curse than benefit to fair skinned people, just like if the earth was getting cooler instead fair skin people would have an advantage over dark skin people because they're genetics are litterally built for colder weather where dark skinned people genetically are built for hot harsher climates. Thats why we all have different hair textures too its all for adaptation to our (natural) environments. I think its cool were all diverse I can't imagine the world where we were all the same color and had the same hair textures, like thats my biggest nightmare why wouldn't you want to embrace others so different from you? Thats the fun of life having variety in people, places and things. 😉

And after some times a boy called me a blue berry 😂 and this time they called me a fruit. Although it doesn't affect me because i know i can't do anything with my skin colour it's all related to melanin pigment.
    But when it comes to realationship now this time it really effect my my ex cheated on me for a girl who is very fair although my ex was also dusky 🙄.
    And in my second relation he cheated for the girl who also fair🤦🏽‍♀️. Some people said me to use fairness cream but i never appiled because i was aware with worst effect of this types of cream.

    I am fully black of Jamaican descent. And my hair is Absolutely gorgeous .Everywhere I go people of all races admire my hair, both male and female, even Indians both male and female admire my hair, which is unusual because they are known for their beautiful hair. This is because my hair is extremely strong, extremely thick, coarse, curly, glossy and shiny to the point that most people think that I am wearing a wig. I have never worn a weave in my life. I inherited my hair from my father who was very dark and handsome. I am extremely proud of my unique hair texture and wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. ❤️😃

      She was in Bridgerton, not The Crown. She was also in the live action adaptation of Disney's Little Mermaid. She played one of Ariel's sisters. In the film, all of the sisters were of different ethnicities. The actress/ ethnicity was based on the sea/ ocean which they "guarded"/ were in charge of.
      But yeah, the actress (Simone Ashley) is gorgeous.

    my mother watches indian series and it shockes me that almost all of the main characters have fair skin. by that i mean 10 shades lighter than an averege indian person. meanwhile the walk-on characters on the background/street have really dark skin color as representing the" lower class" such as street dealer or a beggar . even us not knowing anything about colorism in india can spot this right away. who is responsible for this? indian public? i don't think so. people leading the media and setting unjustifiable beauty standards in indian society to fit in the western world...

    I am a Malayalee but not from India. I just verified with my cousin living in Kerala who stated that the Muslims in the northernmost portion of Kerala (Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode) have a distinct white skin color complexion. Their skin complexion is obviously whiter than the average Hindu of the region. The Muslims in Malappuram have a darker skin tone. He said the reason for this is the attack by Tipu Sultan who wiped out the Brahmin and Kshtriya men of Kasargod, Kannur, Kozhikode and took all their wives and married them. One soldier can marry four women. But the Malappuram Muslim became Muslims because of the 1921 Mappila Riots where Hindus of all castes were forcibly converted to Muslim, therefore their skin tone is much darker on average.
    Caste system is a labor division and there was originally no upper or lower. All had totally equal rights but different professions. They are like an orchestra playing beautiful music. They can interact with each other and be very friendly with each other. But the drum player cannot suddenly state he wants to play the flute which he did not practice all his life. I was sitting in a Bhajan one day when a Malayalee Kshatriya kid sitting next to me was making a ruckus. I hit his legs. He simply replied, “no pain.” I hit him harder and he again replied, “no pain.” Then I hit his leg as hard as I could, he again replied, “no pain.” I have three kids and know that the kid's pain tolerance is far higher than my three children. So, it will be alright if such people end up in the military or the police.
    The discrimination of the Kshatriyas and Brahmins towards the Vaishyas and Shudras started 2500 years ago which led to the starting of Buddhism and Jainism. I get my information from Sai Baba whom I have been following for 43 years. Color of skin of Vaishyas and Shudras were obviously darker since for millions of years they were toiling in the sun. Comparatively Brahmins were in dark jungles or doing their meditation under sheds for millions of years. Similarly, the Kshatriyas were in their sheds more than Shudras and Vaishyas. I do not believe the Western idea that humans were only around for thousands of years. The skin color of the Kshatriyas and Brahmins has nothing to do with the coming in by Europeans in NW India to become Brahmins and Kshatriyas. Latest genetic studies have proven that Indians are more closely related to each other than to any people outside India. It was Indians who moved out to become Europeans and Chinese and all races except Africans whom Indians originated from. This is why Sanskrit is the base language of most languages on earth. In Malaysia we speak Malay and 80% of Malay is Sanskrit. A statue of Ganesa which has been dated to more than 1200 years is in the local museum in my city. It was found near the Santubong mountain near my home city.
    There was a previous instance when the ego of the Kshatriyas caused them to discriminate against the Vaishyas and Shudras and God had to come down as Parashurama to wipe out 21 generations of Kshatriyas. Similarly, about 21 generations of Kshatriyas and Brahmins were wiped out by the Muslim hordes during their invasion of India. I am sure the N. Indian Brahmins are from other castes who just occupied the empty spots in the temples and armies because the Kshatriyas and Brahmins were killed off. It is a bit more clear in Telangana and Andra history where the Reddy, Naidu etc are actually Shudras and they acknowledge it because the original Kshatriyas were wiped out by the Muslims. Therefore, I believe India is a holy land and God let the Muslim and later Christian hordes attack India to solve the caste discrimination problem. So, we cannot be angry at the Muslims, they were just doing God’s work like Parashurama even though they did not know it.
    I read online the letter Tipu Sultan sent to his generals which states that all Brahmins have to be killed after being badly tortured and all Kshatriyas men who did not die must go through a ceremony where they have to be converted to Islam and there is a beef eating ceremony after that. In Malaysia I can see that the N. Indian Brahmins are far weaker in their academic achievements compared to Tamil Brahmins. Also, many of our Gods like Krishna, Rama and Shiva had totally black skin. I had a vision of Krishna, he was about twice my height and was totally black in skin color.
    Top gurus state that if you study the background of the 1000 greatest sages of Hinduism, most were Shudras. It is simple, the rich tend to not put in sufficient effort to achieve greatness. Examples are Valmiki who wrote the Ramayana, Vyasa who wrote the Mahabharata, Narada and many others. Even the Pandavas originated in the Shudra caste if you go far back in their history. I am a Professor in electrical engineering but spend most of my life in industry. I discovered the very top student I had in my life after marking the exam papers of a class of about 110 students. I contacted him to send his photo so I can forward it to the rest of the class and ask them to follow this person. But he said he needed to go to a photo studio etc. I thought it would take seconds to send his photo. I later found out he was so poor he did not have any furniture in his home. I also later found out that was his last semester and he got straight A’s for all his four years of electrical engineering degree.
    The caste discrimination was brought to the fore just before the last elections. The two major parties running to win were the BJP and the Congress. The congress did not have much to prove they ever did so they brought up the division in India and using this they successfully took a lot of votes from the BJP. But the BJP still won overall. Kerala, where my parents came from, is the best in solving this caste discrimination issue. The British favored the Brahmins since they are small in number and can be used as an extension of themselves. So, when the British left in 1947, the Brahmins were occupying almost all official positions and owned most of the land. It was a Brahmin named Namboodiripad who was disgusted by the way Brahmins were simply given everything and thus making his family and relatives lazy. He simply took over all the landlords’ (feudal leaders) land and gave it to the farmers, stating that is the Communist way (he was from the Communist party). Thereby immediately relieving the feudal leaders’ of all their wealth. Today Kerala has the most egalitarian society among states in India. It already has among the highest GDP per capita. But Communism’s other illogical ways have stopped industries and factories from setting up in Kerala but they did not stop IT so I believe Kerala will be among the top in IT in the near future. I believe the Communist did their job and it is time for them to leave Kerala.
    About the discrimination against black skin, I am sure it was brought into Indian culture from the Muslim and Christian conquerors of India. Marco Polo’s description of the India he saw in 1288 in a region which was not conquered by Muslims was that females tried to make their skin darker by putting beauty products on themselves. And no male or female covered their chest. All had a small piece of fabric covering their genitals.

    South Indians are mostly dark but beautiful and quite attractive. We must stop complaining about these issues, & give a solution. This is going on for so so long. If you are dark skinned then try to look sexy. Dress sexy. I guarantee you the white girl standing next to you will not get any attention. An oily shinning looking dark skin looks very sexy. Its all about making yourself look attractive irrespective of skin colour. Presentation is everything. Humans or gift wraps.

    Dark skin women need to work to make dark skin look great like it once did. Dark skin can be flawless, even toned, smooth, shiney, beautiful chocolate shade to milk chocolate shade. There is no reason why dark skin can't look great. I've seen African women with the darkest skin that look so beautiful. They take care of their skin. All dark skin women need self confidence to believe their dark skin look beautiful. If there is a of lack self confidence then this affects the personality. A confident personality is about seventy five percent beauty and the rest is astethic. Dark skin women need specific entertainment and fashion magazines dedicated to the dark skin women's beauty because this has been missing for many years and all people have to content with is light skin women's nonsense being shove into their subconscious. It's not a mind boggling thing why dark skinned women with dark hair always gets the sidekick roles. That needs to change. How many light skin women with blonde hair gets the sidekick roles. Next to none. Even when light skin blonde hair women gets the sidekick roles, it's not as intense or unpleasant as the ones the dark skin dark haired women gets. The light skin blonde haired women sidekick roles are produced in such a way to not make the light skin blonde haired women's image look on par with and neither below the dark skin women's subordinate image which is how they are presented in nearly all entertainments across the world. Dark skin women have a lot of work ahead of them. May God bless and help them. Let's hope this problem dark skin women face brings them all closer in dark skin sisterly love and humility amongst themselves. And also they can once and for all stop being catty towards each other and celebrate their fellow dark skin sistas beauty, and when things are looking up for their fellow dark skin sistas.
