This mod looks fantastic! I’ve always wanted Casio to make a full metal Casio AE1200 and now that’s possible. When you consider the prices of the metal gshocks, just over $100-$120 is a great price for this watch and probably what Casio would price it at if they made it.
Love it. They should either improve their bracelets or have the option of an fkm rubber strap, would be such a nice upgrade to the usual resin straps, always the first point of failure on the cheap casios.
I think I generally prefer the plainer A500wa world time, the module without the faceplate at 5:38 looks really sweet to me. That’s a mod I could get behind.

I love what this kit does for arguably one of my favorite watches. It doesn't stray too far from the original, except to clean it up and make it look like it should have been this way all along. I've had my eye on doing something like this to one of my 1200s for a while, but the finances just never quite seem to allow it. Isn't this love for precision, detail and personal fashion a beautiful thing, with mods like this?!…Heck in these times anyone who actually wears a watch is considered a dinosaur (unless it's an Apple Watch of course!)…Anyway, while being a watch-lover for years, I only recently discovered the amazingly active horological community on YT and it's amazing…Even for a humble watch like the Casio Royale 🤗
I think doing a filter mod is much better for this watch. The skxmod is just taking it to an unnecessary level for what the ae1200 is. The charm and appeal of the 1200 is how light it is, and it's a knock around watch. Adding the mod case I feel takes that feel away from it.
This watch and upgrade kit is the most terrific set I have ever seen, let alone the price!!! The excellent presentation put it all in perspective and I see no reason at all why anyone should not buy one.

Cool video and perfectly timed Jody! I’ve been looking at one of these kits because I love my AE1200 and want to keep it looking fresh as long as possible!
When you think about it, this will do almost everything the GMWB5000 metal G Shock will. It’s got 5 alarms, dual time, timer, stopwatch, incredible backlight, etc. The only things it’s really missing are the Bluetooth/Multiband 6 and the Solar power. The GMWB5000 is $550-$600. This comes to $125 without the bracelet and ~$175 with the bracelet and, I think, will be reasonably tough and be able to handle a nothing 99% of us will use it for. I think that’s a steal.
I’ve noticed a lot of ‘refit’ kits on AliExpress for the gxw56 g shock king- metal cases and straps in different colours etc but they never show an actual g shock king with these kits fitted to show what they look like. Some of the cases and straps do look amazing, but they are pretty expensive too though. Obviously I wear a gxw56 with positive display and silver bull bars on a red nato strap. 👍
The Royale is cool as it is but a metal case would make it even cooler. I've already damaded the rear of the plastic case on mine from constantly swapping out straps. The all black with bracelet looks good awesome imo 👍🏼

I modded my Royale with a SKX silver & black sterile case and added a Vario oiled leather graphite black strap. The Mods cost approx £100 in total and the watch looks and feels AMAZING!

I loved Casio watches before I loved watches. 3 decades of getting a new F-91w from Argos when I'd ruined the previous one (until a gift from my partner sparked a fascination). I think the only brand that truely covers everyone from zero interest in watches to those with a deep love of watches.

Just got the watch and love it! Was never sure sure about its size for me but found it in display in a Walmart while travelling in Idaho and it is perfect! First and only purchase for myself in that State of the US and a great souvenir! I immediately thought of JOMW when I saw it. Thanks for all the good content! This video was a lot of fun!
I recently bought an ae1300. I have loved using it. The big world map on the 1200 never really appealed that much to me. I recently scratched the plastic crystal while moving some furniture. I have some polywatch but it would be so reassuring not having to worry about that.

Hi Jodi, try the strap from a W218H, it will balance the watch better. In fact, swap the straps as the AE1200 strap fits the W218 better in my opinion. There you have it, another mod😉
I love my apparently rose gold (I thought it was more bronze-y) and black version. I wish the bracelet was better, as I’m not super fond of the Casio rubber straps, so that would be an important piece of the mod for me.
I love that these are available now. A full steel frame for the Royale was a lot of people's only grievance. I can't wait to get my hands on a Kit to make my Royale more capable and rugged. 👍
It's a bit like taking a Hyundai I09 and putting big mag wheels, spoiler & exhaust kit on it, but modding cars or watches is fun and you end up with something more personalised. I've got a Seiko 7002-7010 dive watch to which I've fitted an NH35 movement, sterile, new dial, hands & bezel which was a fun thing, it would be great to do a mod where I didn't have to struggle with the hands, winder etc and not have to wind it for 10 years :-)
If I was lucky enough to win this mod rather than use the bracelet or the original resin strap, I’d put my modded AE1200 on a nice Vario leather strap that they make for the AE1200. I reckon that would just elevate the mod to the next level. Thanks for the opportunity Jody and good luck everyone

Jody, if you’re gonna spend that much on a mod kit, I’d upgrade the stock resin strap and replace it with a nice leather strap or a a steel bracelet. Makes sense when you have a modded Deluxe Casino Royale.
I've got one of these, and for one Halloween I did painted the case orange and changed to an orange nato strap. The whole thing looks pretty cool. I haven't worn it since however. I cannot remove my solar g shock that is welded to my wrist 😂

This mod looks great. The AE1200 was always let down with being made out of resin. I will definitely have to have a look at the mod kit further.

2:45 the AE-1200 has a resin crystal, not a mineral crystal. The only two watches in the AE series that have them are the AE-2000W and the AE-2100W.

I had one of those, or a really similar one, back in the day. I still fondly remember it as it was the epitome of cool.
I did this mod, case only, to my royale. I also added a bull bar, and put it on a Vario Bund Band. It's like a completely different watch. Love it.

I really like Casio's, got a 5600 for work, and a dw-6600 for fun. They're both really light and comfortable..
Perfect watch for a Cylon (1978). For not a fan of the Chrome Casios, prefer to keep my Casio GW-M5610-1ER in its natural black plastic

One of my favorite Casios despite the cheap plasticky feel to the watch. So legible, affordable, and unique. The kit looks tempting and easy to mod.
I only just started getting into watches and I only own a casio royale, I love it and I think it's a good start to a collection.
Just got the watch and love it! Was never sure sure about its size for me but found it in display in a Walmart while travelling in Idaho and it is perfect! First and only purchase for myself in that State of the US and a great souvenir! I immediately thought of JOMW when I saw it. Thanks for all the good content! This video was a lot of fun!
Definitely the best value worldtime and I love wearing my silver one for work. I have 3 and I think one more wouldn’t hurt… 😀

I recently bought an ae1300. I have loved using it. The big world map on the 1200 never really appealed that much to me. I recently scratched the plastic crystal while moving some furniture. I have some polywatch but it would be so reassuring not having to worry about that.

Hi Jodi, try the strap from a W218H, it will balance the watch better. In fact, swap the straps as the AE1200 strap fits the W218 better in my opinion. There you have it, another mod😉

And now you need to mod the mod to get that lettering on the case removed like you did with the original case...
I love sapphire on every watch I have. This was one of my few I own that I suffer without besides my G-Socks, but now don't have to!

I love my apparently rose gold (I thought it was more bronze-y) and black version. I wish the bracelet was better, as I’m not super fond of the Casio rubber straps, so that would be an important piece of the mod for me.
I love that these are available now. A full steel frame for the Royale was a lot of people's only grievance. I can't wait to get my hands on a Kit to make my Royale more capable and rugged. 👍
It's a bit like taking a Hyundai I09 and putting big mag wheels, spoiler & exhaust kit on it, but modding cars or watches is fun and you end up with something more personalised. I've got a Seiko 7002-7010 dive watch to which I've fitted an NH35 movement, sterile, new dial, hands & bezel which was a fun thing, it would be great to do a mod where I didn't have to struggle with the hands, winder etc and not have to wind it for 10 years :-)
If I was lucky enough to win this mod rather than use the bracelet or the original resin strap, I’d put my modded AE1200 on a nice Vario leather strap that they make for the AE1200. I reckon that would just elevate the mod to the next level. Thanks for the opportunity Jody and good luck everyone

These kits are amazing! It really jazz up the Casio royal that is already great.
Jody, if you’re gonna spend that much on a mod kit, I’d upgrade the stock resin strap and replace it with a nice leather strap or a a steel bracelet. Makes sense when you have a modded Deluxe Casino Royale.
I've got one of these, and for one Halloween I did painted the case orange and changed to an orange nato strap. The whole thing looks pretty cool. I haven't worn it since however. I cannot remove my solar g shock that is welded to my wrist 😂
