@@eather34 I used isopropyl alcohol and a q-tip but there's a number of ways on-line from using goo-gone to pencil erasers if you search around on-line. Really easy to do and takes 10 mins

This mod looks fantastic! I’ve always wanted Casio to make a full metal Casio AE1200 and now that’s possible. When you consider the prices of the metal gshocks, just over $100-$120 is a great price for this watch and probably what Casio would price it at if they made it.
Love it. They should either improve their bracelets or have the option of an fkm rubber strap, would be such a nice upgrade to the usual resin straps, always the first point of failure on the cheap casios.
I think I generally prefer the plainer A500wa world time, the module without the faceplate at 5:38 looks really sweet to me. That’s a mod I could get behind.

Hi Jody! Been subscribed for I don't even know how long, and I can't help liking this video. What a great modification for a fantastic watch. I love what this kit does for arguably one of my favorite watches. It doesn't stray too far from the original, except to clean it up and make it look like it should have been this way all along. I've had my eye on doing something like this to one of my 1200s for a while, but the finances just never quite seem to allow it. This is an awesome mod. Would love to see a showdown between this and the kranio design case for the title of ultimate mod. It's more expensive but looks like a one man team making them. The white cerakote one looks incredible!

I recently bought an ae1300. I have loved using it. The big world map on the 1200 never really appealed that much to me. I recently scratched the plastic crystal while moving some furniture. I have some polywatch but it would be so reassuring not having to worry about that.
I think doing a filter mod is much better for this watch. The skxmod is just taking it to an unnecessary level for what the ae1200 is. The charm and appeal of the 1200 is how light it is, and it's a knock around watch. Adding the mod case I feel takes that feel away from it.

I have both the resin AE-1200 and the 'metal' AE-1200 as go to watches. I've managed to get away without scratching the crystals on both, more by luck than judgement and have thought of getting sapphire replacements. Great video as always but think the replacement flat head screws are a poor choice. Screwdrivers can slip and end up scratching the watch whereas the philips screws are easy to use. The bracelets are a no no, so are there any other bracelets you would recommend ? 👍⌚😎
This a cool idea! Especially like that black with gold pushers, hella snazzy. Love the AE1200, though I'm yet to pick one up - the cheapest I've seen in South Africa is around $45 equivalent. Didn't even know you could get 'em for less.
Man I wear my ae1200 with metal looking case almost everyday, and my only complaint is the case. This is a affordable mod that I will be doing. Awesome work.

Interesting to hear what happened with the bracelet screws. I’m a jeweler and I’ve sized countless bracelets and never had that happen. Must have had some manufacturing defects.

I think you missed a step from your audio description of the process, "Insert module...wonder why buttons don't line up....reinsert module the right way up..." The Royale with Sapphire sounds good to me. There's always that feeling that the watch's looks won't outlast the battery, but this solves that.

Jody, if you’re gonna spend that much on a mod kit, I’d upgrade the stock resin strap and replace it with a nice leather strap or a a steel bracelet. Makes sense when you have a modded Deluxe Casino Royale.

The Royale is cool as it is but a metal case would make it even cooler. I've already damaded the rear of the plastic case on mine from constantly swapping out straps. The all black with bracelet looks good awesome imo 👍🏼

Very nice - but I think the kits are a bit overpriced as you can get for example a 316L case with sapphire for a regular watch for about 30 USD on Ali Express .
Hi Jodi, try the strap from a W218H, it will balance the watch better. In fact, swap the straps as the AE1200 strap fits the W218 better in my opinion. There you have it, another mod😉

Nice Mod Jodi. why not look at modding a GWM5610 with a genuine Casio bracelet (plastic). I did it, and now I have a watch which will never leave my collection! The bracelet links are secured with push pins - a breeze to size! Maybe the same bracelet would fit the Royal!
The mod looks great, I always thought the Casio Royale was one of the prettiest Casios, but because of the plastic case it gets less wristtime from me than it should.

I've got one of these, and for one Halloween I did painted the case orange and changed to an orange nato strap. The whole thing looks pretty cool. I haven't worn it since however. I cannot remove my solar g shock that is welded to my wrist 😂

A textless variant would be a good addition to their range - I removed all the external text from my original and I think it looks a lot cleaner.

I happened to fall into Casio watches recently. I might be getting hooked like you are.
I went from one to 15 of them faster than you can say, "I can stop whenever I want."
This mod looks great. The AE1200 was always let down with being made out of resin. I will definitely have to have a look at the mod kit further.
2:45 the AE-1200 has a resin crystal, not a mineral crystal. The only two watches in the AE series that have them are the AE-2000W and the AE-2100W.

I did this mod, case only, to my royale. I also added a bull bar, and put it on a Vario Bund Band. It's like a completely different watch. Love it.

Not really. As long as you put the caseback on properly again. They provide brand new seals as well.

I really like Casio's, got a 5600 for work, and a dw-6600 for fun. They're both really light and comfortable..
I happen to have the Circular AE-1000 and somewhat bummed that it's overshadowed by it's Square siblings.

This is truly fantastic! Only wish Casio themselves made a higher end all metal digital watch that was not as big and bulky as the g-shocks.
