They still taste the same but you have to get your head around them being sold warm on the shelf instead of chilled.

This is why you buy eggs from a local farmer....the question is weather or not you're willing to pay the farmer more for his added time, or less to get these high volume mechanized eggs....so far most people would rather pay less, that's why there aren't many small farmers left.

After working in a meat plant and having chickens myself I can say a garbage can of waste for over 100k chickens isnt very much at all. Compared to meat I'd say you lose a lot less chicken eggs to abnormalities than meat. About 1 in 130 is a goof up.

Yes, as soon as an egg is refridgerated, you get a half hour before it starts to spoil. A fresh egg wont spoil for a long time

Hickmans actually doesn't waste anything that's in the factories. It can go to liquid, to feed, protein or even fertilizer.
