My opinion on the Boss, is that they show no regard for human life. It’s definitely the same concept of the fact that Gat and the Boss developed a close friendship with each other. We know absolutely nothing about this character except in the third game, Kenzie is probably aware of their true identity. So the background of this character is definitely mysterious, but also is high curiosity in my mind. The Boss really doesn’t have a character arc. There is a difference between the boss and Julius and my opinion when it comes to leadership. Julius people in charge of the right fit for the job for The Boss. He just randomly recruited people, didn’t get them canonized properly, and didn’t give them enough work for them to prove themselves. Just automatically gave them positions. Carlos was definitely not fit for a role as a lieutenant, it is a fan fantasy. I’m not saying he’s a nerd kid with respect and regard. He doesn’t truly know who they are as in spending enough time with them to understand them. Because of this lack of knowledge and foresight, he pays the consequences, which made an impact on the boss, but it didn’t make them see that they’re selfish. Their recklessness, arrogance, and entitlement didn’t teach them anything.
17:16 actually it’s Troy who saves you in saints row 1 as he’s the one who has the gun and shoots the vice king trying to kill you. Also Julius never changes he actually sells out like Dex and works for Ultor as explained in the corporate warfare DLC which means he plays a role in kicking out the very people he protected in the first game, as he knew about the masako. Also in SR1 it’s shown that King doesn’t want to sell drugs because he’s seen the damage it’s done to stilwater and since Julius was Kings right hand man and grew up in Sunnyvale he would have seen the same thing, and when he has the opportunity to get rid of drugs when he defeats the carnales, he instead doubles down and agrees with Manuel to keep selling drugs. So when he says “drugs were still being pushed” He was the one that made the decision to keep pushing them. Also when he says that the saints turned into Vice Kings that wore purple, that’s also not true as King didn’t want to get into drugs and wanted to move into more legal ways of making money like writing a book and opening supermarkets. Instead the Saints Double Down on Drugs and Killing.
