Steaming is the new frying!
Please tell Heiko to get with the program - slow pitch jigging is the way! (not vertical jigging)
I'm so happy the Muttons are around this winter. We will be in Marathon the third week of February - hoping for some good weather windows!
We are hoping for the good weather too!!
Ok, we watched your cooking like three times and gave it a shot with black grouper. It was a winner. Thanks!
Awesome! That really makes us very happy! Thanks!
I made this recipe and really enjoyed it with a Red Grouper I caught. I added Sambel Olek, Rice vinegar, white pepper and lemongrass as well. Thanks for the sharing FFC!
Thanks Tom! We have all those ingredients (even the lemongrass growing wild in the yard) and will have to try mixing those ingredients together and cooking up some grouper when they are in season here!
I can’t wait to cook some fish this way !!
Do it and let us know how it turns out!
Them are really good eating fish and their easy to clean
One of my favorite fish to catch and eat.
double the fun
Oh yeah!!
Love the recipe, we are definitely going to give that one a try! Great video guys!
Thanks! Appreciate the comment!
Water out there looked almost as good as that fish dish! Love it! Cheers🍻
It was! We finally got one good day out of the past month or so!
We use a canon R7 with a Rode powered shotgun mic for our indoor cooking. Works very well. We may get some wireless lapel mics at some point
Thanks for the tip!
Good job you guys are aces
Thanks Gary, appreciate the comment and compliment!!

Yes, definitely try it. One of the best snd easiest recipes.
Nice job on the clean up ,, after seeing that reel , why don't you do more fishing for TUNA ?
Tuna have been real slow for us lately. Mainly because of the weather. Been an unusually windy winter without too many breaks in between.
Hey Dom, I love you bro
Love you back bro! Thanks! 😎
Awesome video guys!!!! Looking forward to the live stream for sure!!!!
Will be sending out the details shortly. We are waiting on a new slow pitch reel from Gomexus to giveaway. This reel hasn’t even been released for sale to the public yet. We are very excited to try it out. It is supposed to same quality and style of the Shimano reels. Some lucky subscriber or Member is going to be happy!!
The recipe looks great, thanks for the video
Hope you enjoy. It really is an excellent and very easy recipe to make. Delicious! 😋
Hey Captain Dan!
Yes sir!
Congratulations Capt. Dan, glad the weather broke for you guys. I myself am considering taking one more deer for the freezer. Clean and process them correctly and its better than beef.
We still have half of a Red Angus Steer coming next month so we need another freezer.
Best wishes
Micky C
Wow! Sounds like you guys are all set for anything that might happen. The steer sounds awesome!
Saturday was the day to be out. Those winds finally laid down.
But not for long… they are back! 😢
Tru dhat😢 Storm yesterday and this AM was pretty strong.
Really some strange weather this winter.
That wind disappeared this afternoon. Finally 😮
Even when its a slippery dik fishing kinda day its good to keep your head up then comes those juicy snappers tightlines dans the man.
Thank you my friend!! It was an awesome day!
His Man cave Starting to look good you can walk around in there so they're tripping over everything
It is looking real good these days! 👍
@@FloridaFishingCouple Not here we got snow yesterday , Have to throw away half A good sized snake wanted more than I did And a 4 leader joke that's the second one came out from like those little tiny threat string ones One little bit tiny bigger you grab and kill One little bit tiny bigger you grab and kill Made it threat after I got the point shaker lit on the milk I was pouring for myself And it jumped into the jug and that is the second one at both homes half of a 4L of milk. I want to go to coffee out of 28oz of milk of it Trust me the smaller ones more of a more pain in the assthe ones looked like a thread They're the ones that have to bite Real bad
Heiko needs to epoxy the floor of his mancave
That would look awesome! Could do it in an aqua blue.
Hope your trip was better than ours went muskie fishing here in ohio water temps were a balmy 34.8 degrees
This time of the year? I catch ~100 each year on Lake St. Clair but usually done chasing them by mid November.
Holy crao! 34.8 degrees? I sure would not be out fishing that’s for sure!! 👍
@@FloridaFishingCouple well you know us yankies
Dan
William!
What's the nursery rhyme....do you know the mutton man, the mutton man the mutton man......
Yes, yes, that’s it!! The Mutton Man…
Question: Do you slow pitch jig get tangled around your line wine your reeling up. Mine always do . What cn I do to sop that from happening
Try adding a ball bearing swivel, that should help alot
Get an 'acid wrapped' slow pitch rod. That's what they are designed to prevent.
So, I’m not sure exactly where your line is getting tangled. Is it around the rod tip or are the assist hooks getting caught in your mainline when you lower the rod tip?
@@FloridaFishingCouple around the main line
how deep do you jig for mutton usually ?
Between 150 & 250 FOW
Captain Dan, why is it when you and Heiko go fishing on your boat, you guys catch fish? When you fish on Heiko's boat you usually get skunked. Inquiring minds want to know.
Because one of the two captains knows how to actually fish
That’s not true, we catch (and sometimes don’t catch) on both of our boats. This video was on Heiko’s boat.
How deep were you all when jigging?
250 feet of water to 300 feet
Found what on the street, the ice machine?
Not sure what you mean?
@@FloridaFishingCouple I thought Hieko said something about finding some on the street. I was wondering if he was talking about the ice machine. Maybe I misheard the conversation.
Capt Dan . Where the hell can I find slow pitch jigs? Been to yellow bait and capt Pete’s. No gots. Help we’re here and need to buy a few. You got some we could buy?
I don’t but Heiko might. He has someone send them to him lately. Let me ask…
@@FloridaFishingCouple cool I just was on his live and asked him if he had some to sell
@@FloridaFishingCouple he said you guys are fishing tomorrow. Might see ya. We’ll be on Davis Reef off Tavernier in a Blue Baja center console
@@margekaralis4212: we will def keep an eye out for you guys.
@@FloridaFishingCouple we could find you guys either. We’re going back out in the morning
😅
Crazy good day!
What are the details on that boat
Details??
Year , make length, motor
It seems very fishable
NOAA'S climate changes every season , that outlawed commercial fishing for Shark is the primary problem.
You think so? 🤔
