I'd encourage teaching young kids crocheting. A few years ago I watched a PBS special where an elementary school teacher had her class learn to crochet. It significantly increased their reading scores. I suspect its similar to how kids who learn a musical instrument have better reading scores: hand/eye coordination, utilizing both sides of the brain simultaneously, etc. Plus, I did crocheting in 4-H and absolutely loved it. :)

The cast iron pan you figured would be for apples is actually a “poffertjespan”. Poffertjes are a bit like small pancakes but they are small fluffy, round shaped, eaten as a treat with some butter and powdered sugar. Its a typical dutch treat. But I am sure theres other stuff you can do with it 😀

Hi! Not sure but I think the scooper is Victorian, something like a crumber, used with another utensil for receiving crumbs from the table. Whether it has significant value, I know not. Lol. I would've bought it for myself. My family gets a kick out of my weird, Victorian utensils on holidays. It may be something else altogether but I like it either way.
The Aebleskiver is a classic Danish Cake Pan, used to prepare Danish pancake balls, pastries filled with fruit, hush puppies, and even Oysters Rockefeller
The little garlic dude - in the early 80s we had one that you put baking soda in and put it in your fridge to gather odors. Forgive me if someone has already said this.
What a shame about the Wedgwood, put a succulent in it. Lol I started to learn how to crochet and knit at 5. I think kids can learn anything, the question is will they enjoy it.
Loved that old train picture! I bought a beautiful old picture that had some water damage on the ends. Must have been proped on the floor and there was a small flood. Took it to be reframed and the new Matt covers the picture and only I know there is some water marks there! It’s still gorgeous!

Item that was made of cut glass, clear glass w/handle isn't a "scooper". You hold it under the edge of the table and brush in the crumbs from the tablecloth between courses. Usually there is a brush that is matching. Have never seen one in cut glass before; usually brass or silver or silver plate, etc. Thank you for your great video.

We eat them up to Christmas, we deep them in powdered sugar and strawberry jam. You should try them they are good. The original recipe is from the 1700's.

No, the pan she was trying to get you to guess is for ableiskevers, they are a Danish, and the name literally mean apple slices. Modern ableiskevers usually do not have apples in them. They are sort of like a pancake ball. That was a Christmas morning tradition in our house growing up. They take forever to cook, but well worth it in the end.
