Thanks for this easy to follow video - I have a floating line only match coming up at the start of July and am topping up my dry flies for that at the moment - will add a few of these - much appreciated - Steve.
Absolute killers especially in a 14 ! What lake is the comp on ?
@@timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769 Carsington in Derbyshire - just a club match - very popular one off with floating lines only - tied some claret on size 12 this evening - can add a few 14's as well - nice easy tie
@@steveshannon7441 Good luck .. should be spot on for surface sport
@timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769 Thanks - hopefully they will be looking up - Cheers

Thank you too!
Good morning. I fish in reservoirs in France in winter. which flies will you use preferably and which color on murky waters will you us
Slow fished small black lures are always going to win out in murky cold water . I suggest small Minkies or Zonkers . Depending on the depth of your lake fished wished on a floater or intermediate with a very slow figure eight . When the water is coloured you will often find fish close along the edges so dont ignore the margins !
@@timjoyceflyfishing-essex6769 Good morning .
thank you for your advice. I fish a lot for cat bobbies. with the same waters the color marabou white with the chartreur body would it be suitable. cordially
Cracking little fly - thanks Tim- think Ive been using too much dubbing
So do I a lot of the time ! lol
Where do you get your squirrel dubbing- can’t seem to get claret- might have to resort to dying my own lol

Thanks Tim- Good man
Hi Tim, new to fly tying so just wondering if the hook type is important here? Would a Fario wet fly size 12 be okay to use?
Hello mate . The size would be right but the weight of the hook would be on the heavy side . You do really need a proper dry fly hook for these kind of patterns as they are well balanced and you dont want them sinking immediately . I would assume Fario do a dry hook ?
