After completing a 360 rotation of your object, and you turn it over to get the underside of the object, (in 1 or more scans) and still have the software compile it in to 1 object.
Too late answer. but , i hope helping someone. 1 kinect sdk version must be 1.8 2 if you install other scan app (Kscan ) uninstall and delete driver. 3 plug the usb2.0 . not work on to usb3 port
I think a 20 or so 16 megapixel pictures and photogrammetry would do a much better job, in maybe a little more (reconstruction) time. Also with photogrammetry the textures are way, way, way better quality. The RGB camera on the Structure core is VGA and not sharp at all IMO. Also, the Skanect application has incorrect mapping of the colors with respect to location. So for instance, my skin color is at my T-shirt and the color of my lips at my chin. I think the structure core is not worth it with respect to 3D scanning objects. I think it is more suit for live depth maps and robotics. I would not buy Structure Core again for 3D scanning of objects, knowing this.
Indeed the built-in camera on the structure core is very low resolution and not sharp, it makes textured models look awful even thought the mesh might be pretty well captured. Until it's equipped with a better camera I would also suggest staying away from the Structure Core for any serious 3D scanning. The Sense2 (3D systems) has much better texture resolution in this regard.

acespacer can it do that?
can skanect use a green laser line to further accurize the 3d model?
Is it really that difficult to speak?
It says Sensor unavailable and GPU anavailable what could I do?
Lukas schellander i facing the same problem..any solution for this?
you need the kinect sdk in order to make the sensor avalible. the gpu has to be enabled in the skanect settings

Working on this now just don,t like small things.

sigh, microphones are not that expensive and would help your customers understand the procedure.
