    I have to tell you Sir that this is one cool looking twist. Also, this can be used to make an antenna with killer gain because of the intricate pattern you have woven with wire. Thanks for the idea Sir too. Peace vf

      @ZinkSterling  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yea I started out doing this without a core wire and my results were good, but when I went to shape them I kept having spacing issues, which I know means I didn’t get my twist tight enough, so I decided to add the core wire and it completely got rid of that problem.

    • @ZinkSterling

      The kiln is actual to harden it and you couldn’t do it with a torch because you would have to maintain 575°F for an hour to get the desired effect.

    Do you quench right out of oven or do you let air cool? So you put in kiln and let it do a one hour ramp to 575 and hold for another hour? Thank you for your time. George

    • @ZinkSterling
      @ZinkSterling  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a SKUTT Firebox and it works great, I just bought one I could afford at the time that had a digital kiln setter. As for the kiln hardening process, first you need to anneal the silver, rio recommends holding the piece at around 1200°F for an hour then quenching to get a full anneal. Then ramp hold at 575 and let the icee stay in the kiln till it cools to room temp on its own. If you cool it too quickly it will lose any hardness and be mostly annealed again. I usually start the hardening cycle right before bed so it’s cooled by morning.

    • @ZinkSterling
      @ZinkSterling  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not sure if a forge would work as I don’t have much knowledge on how they run, but if it can regulate temperature for the times required then it should. I have a propane burner I use sometimes, but that thing is basically all on or all off and it would not work.

    I really That You for sharing your knowledge " But " , I promise I'm not trying to be a hard @$$. The viewing frame is really small , n the adio keeps dropping out. You really have you ducks in a row in your trade , but this video was just hard to see. My fiancee luvs this kinda hand made stuffage. I was a machinist , and love to make her things , plus she has never had anyone who took time to make things for her before. Jewelry is a trade I've never taken up , and this is the style she really loves. Again Thank You for sharing , I'm really not complaining.
