And the reason Pepa was 'married in a hurricane' is because her mood affects the weather,so bruno likely unknowingly said something that made her anxios at her wedding,resulting in the hurricane.
You should watch The Family Madrigal, it will explain the characters about what they can do, and Surface Pressure is my favorite one. Honestly they hit with every song in this movie.

I am a 41 year old man and I have seen this move probably 20 times now. I COULD blame my young kids, but the wife and I have watched it without them several times. The whole movie is an ear worm. 100% recommended watch.

This song is basically everyone’s perception of Bruno. When you can see the future people take everything you say as prophecy.
Most of the things he predicts would just happen in the song would have just happened naturally but the people are just inclined to believe the worst.
My kids are currently obsessed with this movie. Surface pressure is another good one. Dos Orguitas is quite beautiful too.

Had to smile when you said "the way the song flows sounds caribbean". The film is set in Colombia and Lin Manuel Miranda said that he had immersed himself in Colombian music to make it sound as authentic as possible and brought influences of different Colombian musical styles into the film.
The most authentic detail was the dad saying aay miercoles!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Classic soft curse

I think his recent movie 'In the Heights.' Fantastic musical.
"Surface Pressure," "The Family Madrigal," or "Dos Oruguitas" would be my vote for the next songs. I also vote for watching the film at some point. The animation is stunning and the plot and very good. Bruno is more of a tragic figure in my mind than anything else. He's Mirabel's uncle and he leaves the family after he has a bad vision (his gift is to see the future).

They're a family of people who've been gifted miraculous abilities. The family consists of the grandmother (Abuela; she has no powers, her husband died long ago), 2 sisters (one you see here, her power is to control the weather with her emotions, the other can heal people with her cooking; also they're triplets) and their brother Bruno who went missing (his power was to see into the future; he became to put it mildly, a bummer, people only saw the bad in his visions, his visions manifest as physical objects like glowing glass slates), the 2 sisters husbands (the handsome black man and the skinnier dapper man at 5:13, they each have no powers because they married in), and their own kids (there's a shapeshifter, one who's super-strong, one who can control and create plants, one with super hearing, the youngest who can talk to animals, and the one with glasses has no powers and nobody knows why she never got a gift; she discovers their magical house is falling apart, on her quest to learn why, she discovers she was in Bruno's vision and it implies some kind of disaster with the house and the family, and here she wants to learn more about Bruno). Meanwhile, Abuela is preparing the dinner where she's effectively going to marry-off the oldest grand-daughter (plant girl; she's very hesitant, it's revealed she's only did it for the family, she's also the main character, glasses-girl's oldest sister) to the village hunk (who hearing-girl also has feelings for), explaining it out loud, it all really sounds like a telenovela drama.

I think Maribel DOES have a gift. She has an empathic connection with the house. That’s why she didn’t need a door. The rooms reflect each person’s gift. Maribel’s “room” is the whole house. That’s why the front door knob responded the way it did to her touch at the end of the movie.
“So Bruno’s not all bad then guys?” The movie definitely makes it seem like he is, but his power is basically being able to see the future. He utilizes his power and tells/warns people of what he sees and they take it as him wishing harm on them/ him causing such situations.
Bruno is the uncle of the main girl in the film (Mirabel). “We don’t talk about Bruno” because he left in order to keep the peace since everyone basically disapproved of him for his gift.
Also!! The kid that was “shape shifting” is Mirabels cousin. He was actually shapeshifting into Bruno!
More accurately, the cousin Camilo is shape shifting into how he remembers Bruno, which is a mix of Camilo's early childhood memory of Bruno being the lanky quiet shifty type before he vanished mixed with the family and community villifying him after he vanished.
@@dragonbretheren Camilo is the same age as Mirabel. I don’t think he remembers Bruno so much as is just emphasizing the demonization that’s obviously done by his parents and the whole town.
@@HaughtBreakerNic Bruno left after Mirabel's ceremony, which was in turn after Camilo's ceremony. So Camilo/Mirabel would have been around the age Tonio is now. Considering the first line we hear from Camilo in WDTAB is describing Bruno as "7 foot frame" means Camilo is probably referencing that time from his childhood where lanky adult Bruno would have towered over young Camilo. We later see that Bruno is actually relatively short (I think Pepa is actually taller than him iirc).
people tend to remember bad things that happen more than good things so he gets a bad rap. What did he tell the characters in Luca to get them to tell him to shut up is what I want to know.
To be honest, the only “good” thing he prophesied was that Isabela would have a perfect life. But as we see in the movie, Isabela feels she’s stuck being perfect
It's almost a crime that you are watching this before watching the movie with context. But, at least you're pre-prepared for this song being in your head forever and ever.
I loooove this movie. The music is utterly mesmerizing. (ETA: Bruno is probably my favorite character along with Mirabel and Camilo.. and Luisa... ok, just watch the movie. lol)

Everyone loves "We don't Talk about Bruno" but "Surface Pressure" is my favorite, it is the epitome of a Lin-Manuel Miranda bop. And "Family Madrigal" is a great opening song that explains who everyone is, and their powers
Bruno is more of an earworm that gets stuck in your head all day, but "Surface Pressure" is loaded with so much emotion it made me start to tear up as a 43 year old guy. The song just hits something and I'm sure it's VERY relatable to a lot of people.

The movie is incredible & the soundtrack is ridiculous! Lin-Manuel Miranda, who wrote Hamilton & In The Heights, did the songs in this movie. Give this man his Oscar already!
Encanto is an amazing story about family, legacy, trauma, and what it means to love; all told WITHOUT a villain to drive the plot! Despite there being magic as part of the film's central conceit, it is a very real and powerful story that a great many of us can relate to.

Bruno is Mirabel's precognitive Uncle. However, he disappeared when she was five years old, because he had a vision that tied her to the destruction of the Miracle - ie, what gives the family Madrigal all their powers. The other characters that are part of the family by blood also have magical abilities, with the exception of Mirabel herself (which is why Abuela Alma asked her son to have the vision in the first place - she didn't get a gift when she turned five). You see:
~ Pepa, Mirabel's Aunt, with her 'control' of the weather (it reacts to her emotions).
~ Camilo, Mirabel's cousin, with his power to shapeshift (he's a theatre kid).
~ Mirabel's oldest cousin, Dolores is the one who's got the quiet verse - because her power is to hear EVERYTHING.
~ Isabella, Mirabel's eldest sister, is the one with Plant Manipulation powers.
~ Luisa doesn't sing, but you can see her power of Super Strength beginning to fade as the light on her door stutters.
Bruno's not a bad person, he's just seen as a terrible omen.
I honestly love Pepe and Felix as a couple, they are so cute together and their vocals work so well together. The way Pepe cheers up and relaxes around Felix shows you just how much they really love each other.
Bruno is a good guy, cute too. He deserves all the head pats, and lots of hugs.
Enchanto is a Disney movie, that’s Musically PHENOMENAL! Lin Manuel-Miranda is the Goat of this era/genre.
The song The Family Madrigal should provide you more context as well as being a total bop.

If were you excited about the fact of a Disney musical, you are going to love this movie. I've watched it multiple times with my family, and there's always something new to find. Music is great, animation is amazing, great watch overall.
The flow is Colombian, you should definitely watch the movie! Most of the cast is also Colombian and Disney did a nice job at researching about my country’s history, traditions and culture 😊
Encanto is a great watch, this is the best song from the movie imo.

It’s heavily implied that a lot of the “fortunes” people blame on Bruno are his snide remarks (“if you keep eating like that you’ll grow a gut” kind of comments) that people took as him telling their fortunes
PLEASE WATCH THIS MOVIE AND SHARE YOUR REACTIONS. Sorry for the shout but this movie is epic in its representation of Colombian culture and characters are actually real people (a heroine with a waist bigger than a pencil! She wears glasses!) The villain is internal versus an evil person. And all music written by the incomparable Lin Manual Miranda. This man bringing people of color to the forefront of entertainment is so needed and his offerings are irresistible 😍😍😍
I would definitely suggest watching “The Family Madrigal” next, so you get an overview, then “Surface Pressure” which is arguably the most relatable song in the entire movie. Personally I like it a little bit more than “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” but they’re almost equal.
I'd say, watch the movie. Record it then edit the songs into reactions. The movie is phenomenal, not a single "bad" song, plus you will see the context of the song in the story line.

Surface Pressure is my favorite song from the film, but really, you should treat yourself to watch the whole movie. It's a visual and musical feast, with a powerful message.
As for Bruno, it's not too much of a spoiler to say what many infer from the song; he sees the future. And as many of us know, not all futures are rosy, and so people blame the messenger if the prophecy isn't positive. But I don't want to say anything else about Bruno that you wouldn't be able to get from the song after a few listens. The movie's worth watching!
I love how our man is like, "No, we need to talk about Bruno!" halfway through and then by the time Mirabel is done reconstructing her prophecy he's all, "... We DEFINITELY don't talk about Bruno around here, bro!" Cracked me up.
At 2:31 you can see Bruno on the second floor stalking the hall and dancing to the music, Bruno is actually present throughout the entire film you just have to have a keen eye in the background
This is the Madrigal family, of the village of Encanto, Colombia. Bruno Madrigal (one of the matriarch's triplets) disappeared years ago -- each member of the family (but one) has a special power (strength, healing, weather-control, etc) and he was a psychic. He generated images onto glass plates -- you see the pieces of his last one here -- and in the years since he went, both his family and the village at large has learned Not To Talk About Bruno.
Bruno is basically misunderstood by the family and the community because they assume the worst from him. He is not evil but just misunderstood
Bruno isn’t actually gone. Dolores, the girl who’s man is “bethroed” to another has super hearing. She refers to him in the PRESENT TENSE. “I can hear him now.” She literally can and knows he’s closer then everybody else thinks, but she’s keeping the secret as he is also the one that is the most sympathetic to him. She fears what he might say, but also notes “it’s a heavy lift with a gift so humbling.” She gets he is simply the bearer of the bad news and not it’s source.
Also, the girl who’s life was promised to be perfect is actually deeply unhappy but is afraid to express it. Her “perfect life” is suffocating her. It sounds like the exception, but she is as mournful as the rest of them. In the last part where everybody’s song is over lapping, you might think she’s repeating “on the vine” over and over, but she’s actually changed her lyrics, saying “and I’m fine and I’m fine I’m fine.” Hinting that this isn’t so wonderful to her.
This song said so much in an amazingly short time.
I thought when Dolores said "I can hear him now" she was referring to the man of her dreams who was on his way I didn't even realize it might be a clue about Bruno still being in the house

Bruno is her Uncle (brother to the woman who sang about her wedding being in a hurricane). In the movie nearly each member of the family is blessed with a power, Bruno's power is that of seeing the future.
Songs with DEFINITE spoilers would be “All of You” and “Dos Oruguitas”(though Dos Oruguitas should be fine if it’s just the song and not the movie clip), “What Else Can I Do” has mild spoilers - all the earlier songs should be fair game! It’s a really really fantastic movie, go watch it for sure!
Loved to see how lost you were at the beginning and how quickly you got your bearings! Professional and sincere. Bruno is the weird uncle we don't really talk about... Hopefully other comments won't spoil too much. The movie has amazing music (as well as animation and story, but that may not be your channel thing) and I suggest you check out family Madrigal for more context on the story, or surface pressure for another banger with a very different style. Bruno is her uncle, her family all has magical powers and her uncle can see the future, however he can't always interpret what he sees. So people always assume all he sees is that his visions are all bad, even though he doesn't change the future he just sees parts of it. And sometimes he will make an observation which people assume are a curse or a bad fortune, like him noticing a person isn't happy and commenting on it becomes he sees a dark future for them. So he becomes an outcast and no one wants any thing to do with him.
this is amazing, not because it was put together by disney, but because LMM wrote it.
bruno is an unfortunate soul. he sees the future. but when people do not like what the future holds for them, they blame it on the person who told them what it was going to be - bruno.
I didn't expect to get hit with real life but wow. "Bruno seems like a bas guy" but you have only heard other peoples versions, a trap too many fall into. Watch the movie and discover the truth of Bruno.
Bruno wasn't bad. He told people what would happen. Sometimes something bad was going to happen sometimes it was good. He didn't make the things happen. That's why he was misunderstood...they were mad at the messenger. It's a picture of human nature. We tend to focus on the bad stuff and let them overshadow good things in people.
It's Lin Manuel Miranda. Anything he touches is musical gold. If you know the Broadway scene, tick, tick . . .BOOM (which he directed for Netflix) is solidly done with INSANE musical theater cameos. He also performed and wrote the music for Vivo (also netflix). Vivo's songs might also make for good reactions, particularly "My Own Drum."
The madrigal at the end was beautiful sensory overload. Sometimes I love being autistic.

Bruno was the uncle who disappeared several years ago. He could predict the future. He had a vision before he left that the main character, Mirabel, is trying to find out about. The rest of the family have other magical gifts: The first singer, Pepa, affects the weather through her emotions (not a cloud in the sky / married in a hurricane). The second, Dolores, has super-sharp hearing (always hear him muttering and mumbling, associate him with the sound of falling sand). The third, Camilo, is a shapeshifter who can take on the appearance of anyone else (he was actually only about 5 at the time Bruno disappeared, but is clearly having fun spinning family legend).

This movie is about a family that at a certain time everyone gets a random magical power, the shapeshifter is a brother. The main girl is the only family member without powers. Bruno is misunderstood.
My daughters are infatuated with this movie and more importantly the music.

This is a new animated Disney movie set in Colombia. We watched it with our grandkids last week. Loved it.
The movie takes place in Colombia, South America. The music has strong Colombian backbone, but Lin Manuel Miranda is from Puerto Rico, so you definitely hear some of that as well.

You have GOT to watch this movie! It is the best Disney film I've ever seen ❤️ And if you really listen to everyone you can see that Bruno is just telling people the visions he's seen from the future. He doesn't make bad things happen, he just sees what happens :)

Bruno just tells the future. He doesn't cause it. People blaming him is just not fair. My favorite part is when Delores has her bit, where she says she associates him with the sound of falling sand. The whole movie is about perspective and empathy.
First we learn about all the characters through Mirabels eyes, then we learn about what the characters from their own perspective and that there is a lot more than meets the eye.
I don’t know if anyone mentioned this but the family’s name is Madrigal and the style of this song is a madrigal. Clever.

Bruno is the best character in the movie

Just to explain the family for anyone who comes across this comment- Bruno is the uncle of Mirabel (the main character with the glasses).
He’s a triplet, his triplet sisters being Mirabels mother Julieta (not in the video) and Pepa, the woman in yellow who sings the first part with her husband. Their kids are Dolores (the girl wearing the red bow headband) Camilo (the shape shifting boy) and Antonio (not in the video).
Isabela, the one who is surrounded by flowers and is wearing the pink dress, is Mirabels older sister. Her other older sister is Luisa (she doesn’t sing hit can be seen at 5:23 struggling to move a vase). Their dad is the man in the blue suit in the background dancing while laying the table.

I don't know if someone has already told you this, but here are the singers in order of appeareance in the song: Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo (both Colombian actors so that may be why you didn't knew them), Adassa, Rhenzy Feliz, (the villagers don't have their VA's specified and the fish woman is not Sra. Ozma), Diane Guerrero, Olga Merendiz and Stephanie Beatriz
And it has a Caribean vibe because this movie is based in Colombia

Colombian, apparently the song writers and most of the production staff really immersed themselves in the culture and country to be able to get all the details just right.

The whole story is that there was a couple who’s village got attacked so they fled with their triplets and the father ends up dying to protect them. In exchange they were given the candle (the enchantment or encanto) which gives them all a power (the first daughter (main characters aunt)controls the weather with her emotions, Bruno sees the future in visions and is super superstitious, Juliette is the mom of main character and she can heal anyone with her food, the aunts children Delores(super hearing), Camilo(shapeshifter) and Antonio( can talk to animals), her sisters are Isabella(able to grow plants) and Luisa (super strength). Mirabel didn’t get a gift so she’s trying to understand why and she goes thru this journey to learn why and how to save her family.
Man I just watched this movie yesterday, it’s worth your time.

He's not good or bad, necessarily. He just sees the future, and people don't like asking for their future and being told bad news. Bruno himself is great, one of the best characters.

This is an amazing movie. I HIGHLY recommend it. I think all the songs spoil things a bit, honestly, but... it's up to you how you want to do it.
