Righttt. I never paid for production school, but it took me years to get quick in the program. There's still so much to learn with all the new plugins though. Nice to have the option to learn the basics in under an hour.
This is an outstanding tutorial. You just took me from clueless beginner to creating and using my own playable patches in less time than it took to get a pizza delivered to my house. Thank you!
Absolutely brilliant mate. You're a legend. I can finally have a clue what Serum is all about, and I cannot even fathom how alien the engineers behind it may be.
Picking Serum up after a year of struggling with Massive, usability look much easier and obvious here! Also helps that you're great at teaching, thanks!
I watch tutorials every day in the past 10 years in topic of 3D, VFX and music creation and you are one of the best teachers i have ever found. This tutorial is just PERFECT. You're awesome. Thank You!
This is one of the best tutorials I have seen regarding music ! Really a joy to learn from this ! I wish I could find a video from you for everything I search.. No 10 minute bullshit intro and nonstop rambling between explaining and so on.. keep it up !
I've been using serum for over 3 years at this point and I still learned a lot from this video, thanks man :) Love how you walked through everything and gave thorough explanations with no fluff, I'll definitely be watching this a few more times just so everything sticks
There's a lot of serum tut's on YT. Many of them are good and informative, but this one appeal to me the most. You explain the fundaments as well as the details in a calm and pleasant way.
I bought Serum today, having my usual reaction to new synths which is instant confusion and regretting my purchase, however, these 40 minutes saved my day. Fantastic tutorial! You know your stuff :) Thank you!
I love your tutorials. you are superb. easy to listen to, organized in your thinking, concise but not short. I'm super impressed. You're a great teacher. I'll prob end up watching every video you make.
Honestly SOOOO Helpful! Usually those tutorials are boring and long and you literally explained everything so quick and the way I immediately got it! So excited now to use it in my productions. I wish you were my music tutor at college:)))
Not only did you show me all the stuff that serum does but you also enlightened me on what all of these knobs and gadgets do inside ableton as well. I am new and I didn't know what lfo's were, how the matrices worked, what exactly the envelopes were, etc. That knowledge is useful in areas not only in serum. Thanks!
Thank you so much man! Really love how you explained literally every little knob/button, I've seen tons of serum tutorial which either skipped a lot of stuff or when they were explaining how something works, they just said use these 2 filters cuz they sound cool.
At 28:38, I was about to comment that you missed out on mentioning the three bands of the multi-band that can be scaled up and down. Soon thereafter, not only did you cover that bit, you added that the three bands can also be modulated - something I did't know! Thanks for a great video. Serum continues to surprise me every time. Brilliant synth.
i love youuuu thank you so much. have been using serum for many months but could never figure out a few things and they were impossible to put into words into the search bar on youtube. but you explained it here !!! tysm
Yeah so after playing with the demo, I had to pick up Serum now. You've done Xfer a huge favor! (btw, hilarious Drake drop there with the 'cell phone')
I can't believe how much effort I've put into exploring myself before finding this video... it's been 2 years and it's still the best I've ever seen! Thank you so so so much :)
I've been looking for videos like this about Serum, and this seems like the Best one to me, where every feature is explained without going into too much detail. I have only just got this synth on a rent-to-own basis from Splice Software, the Full Price is way too much for me right mow, so its a really great way of getting hold of this awesome plugi-in right away! Thanks man!
best tutorial ever. I was always afraid of those synth and found them useless because I had no idea. But then I saw people doing sick stuff and this here helps me a lot. Thank you. Now I can appreciate it!
Pretty much every single button in the plugin is explained in a reasonable time, really good. ^^ And you didn't beg subs and likes like most do, it ends up being an absolute relief. XD
Hey! I'm currently looking for some specific info on Serum. You seem to get straight to the point and overal you're a really good tutor! Only thing I wanna suggest is make time stamps... It's something I've seen on the channel of 'InTheMix' who is also a very good tutor! The thing is, I'm looking for something in particular. Now it means I will have to go trough all of those 39 minutes to find out what I wanna know! Or for example, I already know how some parts work. If I could skip these by knowing what time stamp you are adressing what, that would be really helpfull! Now your focusing on an audiance that is completely new to Serum. If you'd cover this aswel, you would be helpfull to a different (not exactly new to Serum) audiance aswel! Some friendly feedback to think about :)!
Thank you. was going to ask where you got that metallic wobble you used where you were explaining the matrix? But is it in that free pack? If not. I’d love a tutorial on how to create that kind of sound.
this is amazing. great delivery and just so cohesive and you never overexplained anything, but it was SO FULL of useful information. so dense i love it
Excellent, this is exactly what I need to get started. Good work. I'm going to check you out on Sound Cloud now that I can go directly to YOU. Thanks again
I've been doing orchestral stuff for about 3 years now and I've recently gotten interested in trying to use Serum and whatnot to expand my content. This tutorial has got to be the most helpful thing for someone to start getting into electronic sound design using a great plugin. Thank you very much, we need more people like you ;)
Hey, I too had seen your Cymatics Ableton videos, and wondered what became of you. Glad to see you on your own channel, and this crash course was awesome!
