    Lovely video! Based on this and other videos I've watched by you, you post really high quality content and I'm here for it! I'm studying to become a technician right now, and your videos fill the gaps of knowledge my instructors leave me with sometimes. Top notch! Thank you!!!

      Awesome! I'm an automotive teacher so it's always nice to hear from subscribers as I try my best to make quality videos for everyone. It really is the little details that can make the info stick and become learned to a degree where people fully understand the content. If you deem me worthy, I'd really appreciate it if you could share out my channel on your social media so I can help more people. Thanks for the support and the watch!

    I thought left to right and vice versa is only applicable for front tires and not rear. good information.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup it works for back bearings too, just have to figure out if it's front or back once it's in the air. Or you can use the windows while driving to hear which one is louder. Thanks for the watch!

    In your other video u mentioned dont put anti seeze on your lugnut bolts. Is there any dangers ? Can lugnuts come off by themselves ? I put anti seeze on them cause i almost pulled a muscle trying to take off lugnuts. Im curious and want to know.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The torque specs are listed for dry lug nuts, if you add anti seize they can loosen due to not being tight enough. I would recommend not to add anti seize and torque to proper specs. Most lug nuts I have issues with is because the last person didn't clean or torque them properly. Hope that helps. Thanks for the watch!

    Hi, please advice. I hear a hum noises only when I hit 60 and it is clear to hear from the driver seat. From the passenger seat or rear seat you can barely hear the noises. Going straight a constant hum noises but steer to the left the noises increase, steer to the right the noises decrease. There is no play or sound in the wheels. Can you please tell me if that sounds like a bearing and which one if it is the bearing. Thank you so much.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sounds like it could be your front passenger bearing but it's hard to diagnose from a message. Just think about how the weight of the vehicle goes to the opposite side of the vehicle when you turn. If it make more noise that's because the bad bearing now has more weight on it and makes more noise. Hope that helps. Thanks for the watch and your support for the channel!

    I hear a periodic low pitched noise from the rear wheels at low speed only. By accelarating it disappears...Is that a bearing problem too ?

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hrmm probably not but it could be starting. Usually bearings are a speed dependent issue that gets worse with speed not better. You could try jacking up the car and spinning the wheels to recreate the sound and then search out the cause. A mechanics stethoscope helps a lot here. Good luck and welcome to the channel!

    The noise i have on the rear left is more like a continue noise over 40mph

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah they can sound like a constant sound at a constant speed. I'd check for play too. I also have a great video on diagnosing a bad bearing you should check out too. Thanks for the watch!

    My front wheel doesn't spin quite so freely. Its not hard to move but doesn't just keep spinning that away

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sometimes it's because the brake pads are slightly dragging or it could be that the bearing is getting older. If there is no play or sounds at speed, then you should be ok. thanks for the watch!

    I am hearing what sounds like a bad wheel bearing when i drive and gets worse as i get faster. I jacked up my 2000 jeep grand cherokee and the front passenger wheel has slight side to side play as described with clunking but no sound (that i can tell) when hand spun and no pitch or noise change when hard turing/swerving. What could that be?

    • @josephnorris2042
      @josephnorris2042 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In the last few weeks by brakes have also started pulsating/shaking when hard braking and coming down hills. Could this be correlated?

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You might have two issues. The speed dependent sound might be a wheel bearing. I have another great video on road testing a bearing you should check out too. The play side to side ( but not up/down) will be a worn steering component. I also have a video on that as well. Hope that helps. Thanks for the watch and welcome to the channel!

    Hello, my noise is high pitched squeak sound. Is it possible it comes from wheel bearing?

    • @ask43242flight
      @ask43242flight ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is there a way that I can send you a link that records the noise? TH-cam doesn't allow me to post a link here. Thank you

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      High pitch squeel is probably a brake pad squealer tab rubbing....so pads are needing replaced. This sound would only be when the brake pedal is on and more at lower speeds.

      Your video really helps. I convinced me that my issue is NOT a bad bearing. With your great advice, I finally figure it out and the root cause is sticking brake caliper. Thank you and you saved me!
