    I tried a set of those Atturo Muds. After the first softness wore off they howled like a banshee at anything over 15kph and don't even ask about the wet bitumen grip. They were lethal and I couldn't get rid of them fast enough. Replaced them with Nitto Trails and entered a new world of silence and grip - they even smelled of real rubber for a few months. 18 months on now and still performing superbly - great offroad and on.
    Sorry to rain on your parade, but facts are facts.

    Hey Nick. Not sure if you still read from this video. How do you stop the tyre rubbing on the upper control arm at full lock? Or does the offset rim sort that.
    My colorado 7 has 265/75r16 on standard +35 rim. It also has adjustable upper control arms on 2 inch lift. They had to dial back caster to stop it rubbing brake line off uca. Drives crap now

    • @LowRangeNick

    Thanks Nick - good to see. The Atturo Trail Blade being fitted - will be interested in hearing your impressions after 50k km. Putting aside the look factor - are the rims worth it? Presumably you could have gotten tyres for the standard rims to give you the 1.6" boost? I'm not having a go at the look factor - they look stunning, the question is about function.

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you put the look factor aside the only advantage realy is that the rim is wider and has more offset so in theory it should give slightly more stability and a larger tyre footprint when it is deflated. So far the tyres are good! They are noisy but thats to be expected with an aggresive M/T. Keen to give them a really good offroad test soon! 😊👍

    Hi nick i was looking at the FUEL wheels for my mu-x but couldn't decide on the "offset" as word had got around cops had started pulling over 4wds with excessive wheel/tyer offsets as certain states deemed illegal. So in your opinion whats the best offset and how did the new wheel -tyer combo fit in the spare wheel well. thanks,

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Matt! The 17x8.5 7.4mm offset fits really well. It is completely under the guards on the front and sticks out on the rear only about 5-10mm. That is with these tyres which have a really aggressive sidewall tread. I havnt upgaded the spare tyre yet but will eventually. Thinking of keeping the standard rim and putting a 265/70r18 tyre on it as my spare. Apparently you can just get enough room to fit a 265 spare underneath. If you have a towbar you need to deflate the tyre a bit and pull it against the towbar as much as possible to clear the rear panhard and diff etc. Hope that helps 😁

    Hi Nick are you using these for show or for around town? I put on a set of steel rims if I'm going off road, anything other than steel is to brittle for bush work. Steel at least you can bang back into shape if something bad happens.

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are the only rims on the car so they go off-road, highway, around town. Everything. These rims are Fuel Off road Rims specifically made for off road vehicles. It is a common misconception that steel rims are the way to go when choosing off-road rims. Most of the alloy rims you will see broken are factory alloys which arent up to the task when it comes to off-roading. Hello Mr. Nick. I have a 2019 MuX. I am really keen to go for a spare set of AT/ MT wheel + Tyre set. Could you guide once again, what is the wheel rim size and Tyre size i should ask the Tyre supplier to get it fitted on to my MuX? Stock Tyre size on vehicle currently is 255/60 R18 HT.

    • @LowRangeNick
      @LowRangeNick  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can go to a 265/70r17 tyre on a 17x8 positive 20 offset rim and it should fit well. It will also give you a little more clearance underneath the diffs and controll arms.
