I think the young man said he had less of a purpose…meaning than Cliff’s. In a insulting way. To me, the young man valued the idea of equality as the highest purpose in contrast that we are all equally, sinners. Some more, others less, some forgiven and some not. There is truth that we all have the free will to seek forgiveness or accept our purpose. However, we are not to define our purpose, but to discover it and use it to seed the fields. Not sure, need to think through it more.

Did he saeriously say, "lack of the truth doesn't imply a lie" ???? umm sir, there is no such thing as a lie if there is no truth because a lie itself is the corruption or departure from the truth itself.... for example if you claim that something is evil as an atheist, you do so upon no actual basis because you don't believe in an objective moral standard of God-given laws, thus there is no good and no evil in the atheistic worldview. on the outside atheism SEEMS to appear very intellectual and sophisticated, but when you get into deep philosophical waters they start drowning very quickly, and when you are a theist whom knows his facts and has a sound theological & philosophical basis you will always be able to keep the atheist in a check mate, so-to-speak. If there were no real God, no true God with real existence and real value,
then nobody anywhere would ever make up any imaginary or counterfeit God,
because there would be no potential reward for doing so if the real God didn't exist.
It's just like if there was no such thing as real money with real value,
then nobody would ever be motivated to produce counterfeit money.
In both cases, the real article does indeed exist, and the counterfeiting businesses prove this fact to be true, in both cases.
Therefore, God most certainly exists in reality.

The Holy Koran and the Holy Bible are scriptures revealed by God.
Mankind still has complete access to both scriptures, exactly as God first revealed them, with absolutely no changes to either scripture.
Nobody has ever managed to establish any change to, nor any addition to, nor any subtraction from, any of God's revealed scriptures.
Throughout all time, no specific example of any such supposed "change" has ever even been suggested, much less established, by anyone.
The same goes for other scriptures revealed by God, such as Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad-gita.

If there is a mind, of maximal greatness, that made creation, then we have an objective source of moral reality. As the creator, He would know what is absolutely moral in any situation. He made the moral rules as He created. Thus, God gives morals.
On the other hand, if there is no God (the maximally great mind), then we are left with each other to assert what is moral. At best, we have a subjective standard then. Who can stand up & say, 'I absolutely know what is moral in all situations!'? No one! Therefore, we are left with a relative morality (subjective morality).
So, if you think everyone had innate worth, fine. You base that on your authority & I have equal authority, & I say they do not. Who is right? No one! Your view & mine are equally right. In subjective morality there is no good or evil. I am reduced to calling it what I like & what I hate.
So, unless you have God making morals, they are totally subjective. Therefore, good & evil lack reality. Stalin, Hitler, Alexander the Great, & anyone else you can think of are morally neutral. Nothing can be good or evil, therefore Morality as we use it is worthless & arbitrary. You are holding an empty bag, morally speaking, without God.

Well we can say that the Christian religion set the precedent for historical fiction and there is a scholarly consensus the Bible is a collection of books put together by church leaders of the Roman empire by a voting process. There is a scholarly consensus that through out the centuries Biblical texts have been added, altered (forged) to fit the theistic views of the church of the times.
The book of Mark is a good example of historical fiction. Keep in mind original manuscripts of Mark are missing verses 16:9-20. These verses are a much later addition. Any one reading this post look up the book "The Homeric Epics and the Gospel of Mark" by Dennis R. MacDonald. Mark was using the literary style of mimesis in which the writer mimics the narrative of another writers work yet makes a few modifications here and there to make it there own.
Here is a few examples from the book from Dennis R. MacDoanld: Jesus goes to a far off land by boat with his 12 disciples, the hero of homers book Odysseus goes to a far off land with his 12 sailors. Jesus meets a demon coming out of a tomb, Odysseus meets a monster (Cyclopes) coming out of a cave, Jesus asks the demon his name. The demon responds Legion because we are many, Cyclopes asks Odysseus his name, Odysseus responds by saying I am nobody, which is the opposite of many. This is an example mimesis be used by the writer. Now you ask yourself is this a mere coincidence that the stories parallel each other or was Mark writing fiction?

I wanted to let you guys know that Jesus loves you all so much!
John 3:16- For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and resurrected from the dead on the third day. This is the beautiful Gospel, which means "Good News."
Acts 20:21- “Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”
If we repent (humbly and truthfully confess our sins to God, committing to forsaking and turning away from them), put our trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior giving our lives over to Him, and believe in His Gospel to save us from the just punishment we deserve for our sins, that being hell- Jesus Christ forgives us of our sins and gives us eternal life!

One big mistake I see you making is when you talk about the reliability of the Qu’ran. It is wildly unreliable and nowhere near as solid as the Bible. About 20% of it was lost when people who memorized it died. Another passage was eaten by a sheep. And Uthman ibn ‘Affan burned all the versions of the Qu’ran but his after Muhammad’s death against the concerns of who Muhammad said were his best scholars and interpreters of Islam. Not to mention that according to Deut 18:21-22 Muhammad self identifies as a false prophet based on the “satanic verses” revelation and would have been stoned to death by Mosaic law.

Such a deceptive reinterpretation by Muslims who are embarrassed by what the verse actually says. This fabrication about raisins or grapes has been debunked.
The Tafsirs which are the classical interpretation of verses of the Quran by scholars confirm that they are actual virgins (women) given as rewards to Muslim men in the paradise of Muhammad.
    This is undisputed.
This was nine years ago. Muslims have been trying to interpret Quran 78:29-34 to obfuscate its actual meaning to no avail
    The interpretation is that:
Jami` at-Tirmidhi and deemed "good and sound" (hasan sahih) *gives this reward specifically for the martyr:*
There are six things with Allah for the martyr. He is forgiven with the first flow of blood (he suffers), he is shown his place in Paradise, he is protected from punishment in the grave, secured from the greatest terror, the crown of dignity is placed upon his head-and its gems are better than the world and what is in it-he is given *seventy-two virgins* among the wide-eyed houris (Ar. اثْنَتَيْنِ وَسَبْعِينَ زَوْجَةً مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ) of Paradise, and he may intercede for seventy of his close relatives.[55]

I want to know which one is the "truest". Catholic? Baptist? Southern baptist? Protestant, Lutheran, mormon or Johos.... Greek orthodox, russian orthodox... Presbyterian, I'll leave out the remaining 200 flavors of christianity. Which one is true? Cliffy likes truth. I'm sure someone can point me to the truth... .yah.

curry boy needs to know that Jesus Christ is the way , the truth and life. Only a living God can save you from hell and not a religion. see www.gotquestions.org

Paul MacArthur .. "Curry boy"? That's disrespectful to him and to God. I get that the boy was arrogant and even when logically explaining answers to his questions... He refused point blank to open the lock on his mind to accept truth. It's sad but many are like that. Pray their minds will open up
