Your just awesome. I have learned so much from watching you. I'm a single disabled mother of 4 and bc of you I have been able to buy and flip and keep some kind of income to help raise my children. Thankyou so much

God bless you Megan for being such a trooper! Having 4 babies and flipping has got to be hard, I can't imagine! Yes, Joselyn does somehow teach us every time she shops! That's just amazing to me! When she shops, I'm' right there with her looking at every piece she picks up! I put her videos on full screen so I don't miss a thing! With her soothing voice and the knowledge she has about each piece, I learn something new every time we shop! She's like the Pied Piper of treasure hunting! I adore her and am looking forward to the little Joselyn coming soon! The little one is learning a lot while shopping with mommy! I can just hear her saying at 2 yrs. old, "Let's go in and see what we can find and flip for a profit!" Teehee

You're right about the vase being both blown and swung. The glass was first blown in a mold to get the what would become the bottom design. As air was added, the glass expanded and the swinging action began. The glass was transferred to another pontil and more swinging. The glass is still fairly open on the end. At this point, a tool was used to create the convex marks. Then, another tool was used to start compression on the open end and more heating and more swinging. Once the form was to the blowers satisfaction, the opening was trimmed and fired smooth. The vase was removed from the pontil and placed in an annealing oven to cool slowly to room temperature. The pontil was polished smooth.
There is also another way to get similar results, basically keeping the glass on a single pontil and working the process somewhat backwards and finishing the bottom in a mold.

You now, with the help of Andrew, spend thousands at auctions, and have built a thriving business. I'm sure you will, once again, adjust to the changes coming in your life, and will find a way to grow, in new ways, as you spend time with your sweet new baby girl. 5:36. It is Raku. After we fire pieces in the wood fire or gas kiln, we place in a container (we use metal trash cans) that are lined with flammable materials. We use newspaper but many do use sawdust. They’re maybe just wanted to specify the flame and materials for their Raku piece. 😍
